    HELP!

i would recommend like nt did to have a look at stuff thats chillout suitable but different from the 'psychill'. i played with snapinho this year at fullmoon festival and everybody played the same psychill. We played alot of different stuff and that was welcomed alot by many people.. there is sooooooo much more than the usual suspects from psyshop/ saikosounds etc. dont focus too much on that.. (check out some posts by snapinho for ideas's) cuz everybody has it.. sure its got some brilliant songs.. but there is more to chillout imho than just psychill. And dont worry about the mixing nobody really cares in the chill if you make a little mistake. enjoy! ps if you need any help drop me a pm
  3. had some problems with loggin in, replyin etc.. but after a little windows update all seems fine now thnx nemo for the suggestion =) edit: hmm didnt seem to help all the way... still having problems.. =(
  4. new talpa and misted muppet stuff! thats the best news i have heard in months!
  5. the compiler isnt extremely important indeed as many have said already.. but the compiler usually is part of the label as well and for small labels that means he/she/alien might be the one putting his money in to release the whole shebang. in that case he is the one taking risks.. i think that should be credited for.. sure it could be on the back with the graphic designer, the masterer etc.. but hey he is compiling it so he is in charge.. so its at the front hehe.. wouldnt you do the same? i would. a little extra fame wont harm. especially not in these days with so many cd's live acts etc. so basically it is to get more people to know you.. but i dont see anything wrong in that. if its a horrible cd you'll remember never to pick up anything by him anymore.. if its decent you forget about him., if its good you'll try to find more! next up: va- tiki tactics compiled by supergroover
  6. dunno.. but sounds like some cheesy foolon track to me..
  7. add me to the 'nova nature' list please. but in the spirit of christmas.. if there is other contenders that are living in a country where it is difficult to buy cd's or expensive.. i withdraw myself from the hat nice idea faze and jikkenteki!

  9. spike jones- hawaiian war chant not all spike jones stuff is brilliant.. but some of it is just sooo funny. its like listening to a disney soundtrack made for people tripping in a chillout. played some of it @ fullmoon festival last summer and everybody was looking like: WTF!

  12. 0.1 % accuracy is enough to make a decent mix. sure its nicer if its 0.02 % or better.. but if you cant mix on 0.1 %.. go and practice.. pitchbend buttons or jogwheel.. i prefer the jogwheel but its obvious now its a matter of personal preference what you like. i also like the fact most players are topdecks instead of rackdecks. its alot better for your back if its a topdeck I think it shouldnt really matter what you play on. as a dj you should be able to play on anything. Although most dj's will be happier campers if they have good gear
  13. not sure what you need scratching for with psytrance.. but if you enjoy it why not ? scratching wise you could go for the cdj 800 's or 1000's. the others dont have a scratch option (no vinyl mode). not sure if the denon's can scratch. if you dont need the scratching i would go for the cdj 100's or the 200's. 200's are better than the denon 1000 imho. i had a look into it a few months ago and didnt quite fancy paying that much for the denon 1000's. so i got the 200's from musicstore.de paid 920 for two. good luck with your choice!

  17. and at the same time sales of cd's went down there was a rather big dip in economy.. so the sales indeed did go down and were distributed among many many more labels than before.. The one study that i found (a while ago) on mp3 and sales concludes that its not changed much.. i have a pdf for those interested..
  18. busy with: http://www.soma-natesa.nl/viewtopic.php?t=1425&start=0 or www.boomrecords.com/cliffbanger (not online yet) not a huge party but very nice location especially psynewsers are welcome
