  1. Someone should invent headphones with integrated dual comb filtering and LFO.
  2. Impressive energy with those live drums and melodies that are actually played on keyboards. The whole atmosphere is pounding in a distinctly psytrance way but adds a new element.
  3. My cents: I don't care what arguments people like. Like stupid arguments on the internet driven by your elitist ego for all I care, just don't play the wrong music.
  4. Ethereal, perpetual arpeggios and soundscapes with a clear personal reflection shining through, carried by driving grooves, punctuated by beautifully sculpted analogue edges. Certainly on par with the most commercially successful old school acts.
  5. the super nonsensical title pokes my eyes and brains out but otherwise the album is good so far. nice frigid, static and ice cold funk trance
  6. It was good and had some nice tunes. But Gnomes of Destruction is blowing me off.
  7. Thanks for defending me, but I really don't have a problem with people promoting their stuff. I'm just glad someone cared to answer at all. Now playing Ziptnf's mix and it's sounding nice enough The others are queued up (including the only external suggestion, from antic) Btw, Vibracoustics, not Vibrasphere. Completely different thing! They seem to be quite unknown but Spotify has some of their stuff.
  8. you're all dropping bombs I'm playing: Transwave - A Journey in the Outerspace (Remix) I'm swept right back to my 16th year of living when disenchantment had a little more glow to it. Funny how Transwave is all nostalgia to me.
  9. A bit to old school to give me an idea of the ongoing scene but I'll listen anyway... Some of that stuff is new to me. Thanks!
  10. Sounds like it might fit the bill, I'm checking it out.
  11. I'd like to pick up psytrance again but don't know where to start, so I thought I might ask if anyone knows a really good, exciting and various DJ mix... Preferably it should cover several sub genres and be playful, but more specific focus is all right as well. I'm into darkpsy like Atriohm and prog like Neelix and Vibracoustics as for later psytrance, along with melodic full-on in the vein of Delirious Noon. Thanks in advance
  12. This is some really good, well-paced, meditative darkpsy with the heart in its right place, so to speak.
  13. Yellow Moon Band, wonderful!
  14. fractal visions shatter

  15. Surprised to see no one mentioned Transwave's Absolum. This song, for me, represents a real storytelling movement, while being transcendental at its core. Particularly the first climax which I'll timelink on youtube: This first melody resembles floating across a landscape which then intensifies into a more angelic movement and then becomes a huge beast.
  16. Most of it seems quite obsolete. I would not compare it with psytrance - it shares the 4/4, upbeat emphasis but not much else. There are good tracks though, such as this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CCyvQxjiqE (still with the cheesy self-absorbed transcendence imagery though)
  17. I love this thinking. About BoC they have a consistent and illusive soundscape which echoes through both production, choice of samples, melody and timing. Not many electronic artists can do this while still holding attention (on the top of my head is Kraftwerk, Autechre, Plaid, Hallucinogen and not many others). However, BoC could be a lot better at evolving musical concepts and taking the listener somewhere.
  18. btw abasio is that green nun <...> something GNOTR related?
  19. Nah, not really. I think he just had a very minimalistic approach to production, presenting his sounds without enhanced production. To us this may sound very modern because in the 70's and 80's people were doing far out stuff with music production that sound done and dated by now. For example this guy doesn't have the oomph of compressed reverb, he doesn't have the delayed pizzicato bells, he doesn't have the massive snare. He just has some small quirky sounds. This is similar to the production aesthetic of minimal techno - but the actual production value isn't very high. It's just straight synth sounds out of the box, a drum machine and some attention to detail and textural interaction.
