VA – Pathogenesis [Compiled by Wizack Twizack] (Digital Drugs Coalition, DARKSTAR, Geomagnetic.TV) 2010 (DIGICD018) 01 HiTech LoLife aka Sienis - God Bites Man 7:12 02 Loki - Fluid 6:20 03 Geonaute vs. Loki - Wackem 7:37 04 Talpa - Red Fog 5:35 05 Hux Flux - StackBabbler 6:27 06 Abomination - Contradiction (Wizack Twizack Rmx) 6:46 07 Tryambaka - We're Just Passing 8:13 08 Wizack Twizack - Wierd Feelings 7:48 09 Koozer Mox - Element 115 7:30 10 Verb - Mjuklandning 9:20 11 Cortex vs. Mindstorm - Pathogenesis 6:48 12 (Bonus Track) Prishvin Mess - Chukcha 7:43 1 **** Starts with an Even McGregor sample where it’s talked about God, the Church and Science. The track has a very nice and funny attitude with enough mushroom variation to please most thrill seeking trippers of the playground. This is a track by Hitech Lolife Aka Sienis, whom I’ve never heard about before. The track has a lot of fun elements which doesn’t take itself too serious with guitars, breaks, varieties in bass and kick with a lot of cute and funny synths to spice up the smile and shimmering drops. A good tune to start the journey and it gives a pleasant feeling so that this compilation might give a lot of smiles and laughter. 2 ** begins with some floating and twisted-up sounds that builds into a groove where it’s time to prove electronically. Thumping along a woggle path the bass and kick starts to play and the sound landscape is rich and smiling. It’s a slower track with no rush and enough time to build up a fantasy world without ever getting into a trance state - It’s a groover by Loki, not a trance induced mover. 3 ***1/2 An eastern lady sings her words of Wackem, as the beat gathers the style and the lifts and breaks take the track into hyperactive. With its dripping melody it’s a nice and thug track with the playfulness of Twizack Wizack’s taste. The sample used might be Hindu, not sure. It’s very beautiful and has a strong empathic vibe to it and the way it’s played with is suitable and exiting. Nice work and cute melodic approaches by Geonaute vs Loki. Best part of this track is the Hindu sample. 4 **** The track starts with eerie winds of haunting moods kicking hard, rolling out a spliff. The beats stagger to drop some Røyksopp, The knife or Trentmøller synthlines, like at the 02:00 mark – ok, found it. It’s Royksopp - What Else Is There (Trentemoller Remix) . The track itself by Talpa has some very nice and vivid productions where he has the eerie background, violins to tighten the seriousness and tingling melodies that excites the strangeness of classical approaches. Definitely not one of his best tracks but fun non the less. 5 *****Life bursting with colours, HuxFlux is on the path! It’s melting the sensation while creating the StackBabbler. HuxFlux is one of these Scandinavian legends that always put out quality sounds though they often get lost in their own generalness. But fear not this is a good track with psychedelic robotic sound effects and floating atmospheres to slide the dream into existence. It’s a beautiful track with loads of charm and feels good and weird inside tricks to spice the trip. Great stuff in synchronized order, which for me is a must if the track is to become timeless! 6 *** Ohh a mysterious intro creeps the creep and lifts the peak. Sound getting tighter while visions are getting fatter. The bass line is killer and the drive is sturdy with lifting melodies sprinkling like a comets tail. Nice flow and pleasant percussions makes this into a fun journey with some breaking in the melodic flow, though it at lifts gets to overdone and boring in sounds for me – Fun to mix though. 7 ** Most positive with this track is the piano melody at half way through the track with its playmate synth. Rest is stressing and out of my loop. Good thing their just passing by. Even better that they get their act together in the second act and rock the dance floor with some head banging attributes. 8 ***1/2 Finally a track by the album composer himself. Wizack Twizack deserves a lot of respect for his production and energy. He always has some insane tricks up his sleeve making powerful and fun filled journeys for the crazed ones. After some successful albums and varies single releases this is so far a album compiled with love for the weird and a feeling for magic. The track becomes too much at times with chaotic intense sounds that swirl around your being while keeping the interest intact for what’s to come next. I’m sorry to say, it doesn’t please my crazy grease (piiiip). 9 ****Exiting intro about cutting edge technology within the nuclear weapons industry. And the bass kick steps in, sturdy, steady and hard. Sound effects glide by and moods are being haunted like the sounds of arsenic. This is a pretty nifty track, has its dangers and thumping powers and breathing manners. 10 ****1/2 A verb comes in with title waves crashing the calm shore, speaks about inner relaxed states and allowing yourself to hear and understand while seeing and experience as we share the unfolding of the order and structure of the cosmos from the infinite to the most manifest creation. And strong electrocuted strings warps the space with thumping beats rising from the distance playing a dark glassed melody with its bass creating grinds of smugness. Industrial elements echoes in the background while strangeness is arising. Great tune with an almost soft landing! 11 ***1/2 Cortex vs Mindstorm comes smashing in with the (almost) last track and the title track as well. They introduce some scattering feelings like your being bent and make you want to do something extraordinary. The track has its powers and flies in sturdy visions while leaving you happy. The run of the track is fun filled but becomes tiring and not so serious, though serious isn’t exactly what this track is aiming at. It builds and breaks, introduces haunting melodies and restful Nintendo madness. And without a warning the track stops. Bonus 12 ***** To get this bonus track you have to send a mail to the address written on the back cover of the compilation. They will then send you a download link. It’s a nice marketing trick as long as it doesn’t get abused, which it won’t. So, Track 12 is available via digital download for registered owners. :: The track is deep, dark, soft and fast phased. Liquid effects running through levitated areas of the mind with eerie atmospheres. This is a Bonus, that’s for sure! When they say bonus they meant Bonus! Quirky whispering sounds, squeaking tiers, flickering birds and tribalistic drums makes this into a pure killer track with a huge grind! This easily gets a top score from me. It’s not in 100% fit with this compilations musical impression. It is a bonus gem for lovers of rolling basses and floating elements while morphing and evolving in true psychotropic manners. Recommendation: This is a fun-filled compilation in the spirit of Twizack Wizack. It has a lot of playfulness with comical breaks, lifts and swirling effects. The selection of tracks are good to very good and almost never fall in the hole of cheese-infested mole but keeps clear of such pits. The energy level is superb and will make most people have a good time on the floor and behind the decks if that’s you preferred place. The term pathogenesis means (from Wikipedia) step by step development of a disease and the chain of events leading to that disease due to a series of changes in the structure and/or function of a cell/tissue/organ being caused by a microbial, chemical or physical agent. The pathogenesis of a disease is the mechanism by which a disease is caused. The term can also be used to describe the development of the disease, such as acute, chronic and recurrent. The word comes from the Greek pathos, "disease", and genesis, "creation”. What kind of remarkable disease this compilation might bring you is unknown to me. The cover art is funny and cool with its evolutionary idea of eat or get eaten, predators eating predators, the chain of nature’s harsh reality. It’s all about surviving. Even for parasites and viruses. BPM's: track 1 - 146; track 2 - 145; track 3 - 145; track 4 - 145; track 5 - 140; track 6 - 145; track 7 - 147; track 8 - 150; track 9 - 143; track 10 - 150; track 11 - 147. Working close together, Ovnimoon (Ovnimoon Rec.) and Dr. Spook (Geomagnetic.TV & Co) decided to release a more mythological compilation of feathered-serpents and it’s myth consisted in the South-American region. The Quetzalcoatl was related to gods of the wind, of Venus, of the dawn, of merchants and of arts, crafts and knowledge. Where this mythological figure comes into the sounds and vibes selected to become this release I’m not sure. But I am sure it’s connections are in here somewhere, or else they would never have named their compilation ‘The Return of Quetzalcoatl’, right? Ovnimoon & Dr. Spook - The Return Of Quetzalcoatl (Ovnimoon Records, Goa Records, Morning Star, Geomagnetic.TV) 2010 (OVNICD004) 01 PsiloCybian - Roses And Lollipops 7:19 02 Man Machine - Spiceuppers (MM Codex Remix) 8:20 03 Prosonik - The Desert Of The Real 8:01 04 Jirah - The Return (Imix Remix) 7:56 05 DNA - Signal 5 7:09 06 01N* - Melusine 9:51 07 Frost-RAVEN - Alien Contact 8:07 08 UnknownSources - Cyberbaba 7:00 09 Leenuz - Somntuta 7:41 10 Rigel - Alien Artifact 8:12 As I believe, a lot of these godly mythological figures were created by people wanting some strain and control of certain people or tribes and the myth grew far beyond its intended area. The myth was most probably invented to hide a part of the jungle so that people would be too scared to venture in there or to have a good laugh; either way it was mostly about control though there might have been some myths that had its life sparks in some truth. Usually myths take on their own life and people will create meanings and stories around it to make it fit into their world view. We are not that hard to fool with myths and religions, it’s been done for centuries; it’s only now that some myths are becoming factual and religions are being cast out as utter crap and scam to keep us under gridlocked control and enslaved patterns. 1 ** Ok tune with some slow steam. 2 *** Super nice trance flow with a Full-On approach though becomes generic too fast. 3 **** Nice intro, been a while since I heard a Matrix sample. Déjà vu usually happens when something is changed. Well, I have like at least 3 Déjà vu’s per week. Guess my life is changing all the time, for the better I would hope. The track has some nice drive and light melodic touches which brings it to clarity. 4 ***begins with a deeper dub bass-line that builds the intro swooshing it into trance land. Nice euphoric track with familiar choruses coming and going to raise the spirit and stark power lines roughening up the sensation. 5 ** More or less typical Full-On with electric vibes and a nifty drive. Utterly boring. 6 *** Creepy intro with sneaking bass and kick. Track has a beautiful harmony sliding behind the beats and builds nicely only to become fetched inside a Full-On land of EuroTrance melodic vibes. Nice and light, euphoric and high. As half the track is done the sound image becomes phatter and richer in texture, lifting it up. 7 ***** Nice nice nice! Another Frost-RAVEN track I got to say that this producer is becoming one of my absolute favorite artists to keep an ear on. He has such charm in his style and emotion; he truly possesses some of that magic which a lot of acts out there are totally missing. This is a person who is heavily influenced and inspired by a lot of good ol’ acts and tries his best to both mimic and personalize the sounds into his own style and vision. Beautiful track, very much with own Progressive PsyTrance beat. If you like Infected Mushroom with their Troll sounds of the past, I highly recommend you to check out his album ‘The Olde Ones’ released on Geomagnetic.TV. Mind you, this artist is capable of making some interstellar Goatrance as well as floating ambient. So keep this name in mind, for the future is bright with this one. This is a track from his Body Snatcher EP (http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?/topic/60457-frost-raven-body-snatcher-ep), but unfortunately it’s not the best track of it. 8 **** This track keeps up the high smile from the previous one and makes me think that maybe it’s all star shine from here on after a weak start on the compilation. This is a driving track with some nice electro groove while flying nicely. Effects in the background make it into a disturbing yet pleasant journey and the drive is staggering. Too bad it doesn’t really go anywhere, far. 9 *** More rugged bass lines, squeaking sound effects and a nice and calm drive. Nice and sluggish. Very calm and soft. 10 ***** Running now, faster than ever before on this release. Nice steam and cool effects by its side. One of the cooler tracks on this compilation because of its phase and groove. Very awesome cute and bleeping sound FX’s, makes me grind! Recommendation: When I first saw this album and only recognizing a couple of names (DNA should have been a warning), I thought that this would be a darker psychedelic trance album then what it is. It’s basically a handful of generic and to the edge of empty Full-On tracks with the rest being more or less interesting psychedelic trance tracks with a smile. So it evolves from the first track of mediocrity to become an interesting release of curiosity. So if you’re into generic Full-On, this is a must. If you’re looking for some interesting outputs with psychedelic charm, this is also for you. But I would recommend listening to the samples before purchasing because the overall energy in most tracks might put you off feeling empty. .. Ok, what about this one then, this should hold your head up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vecyvXD1nxc .. Maybe not as full as Crop Circles, but it has an amazing acid drive. .. And for sure I agree. When done right with magic precissions and just smack Oh Yeah baby, then a guitar will be awesome. ie. ^Tried to find the track on CPC - Über Den Angst which has a guitar that just melts my brain into bliss. I think one of the best Prodigy pietrans-remixes I've heard is the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPnctfZedkc .. And Texas Faggot cleaverly made a funny remake of N'Sync's Everybody groove to the music or what ever the track is originally called. Some do it smart, some do it stupid and meaningless and empty and without intelligence and others do it Ok while many do it mediocrity.

I prefer the slang; Popsy And to be honest, one of the best Popsy albums I've heard is Violet Vision with their Heaven Underground album. It's class if you can swallow that style. http://www.discogs.com/Violet-Vision-Heaven-Underground/release/1379340 <-- SMTH! Are U Ok now?? Becaue they can! Isn't more complicated then that. And I have to say that once in a while inside a (good) DJ-set to add something corny like a remix of something poop, can actually create a lot of smiles and laughter then SMacK back on track and into the real psychedelia.. If done right it can be amazing. Sorry I've been sort of hooked on this crazy 90's dance anthem track and when I found this silly mash-up, I had to crack a huge smile on my face

Electrypnose - Magnetic Memoirs [Volume 2] (Goa Records, DARKSTAR) 2010 (GOAREC012) Electrypnose, the artist with the hard name to remember, how to spell and pronounce has since his debut release ‘Brain Stretching’ from 2005 on ResonantEarth.com been one of the worlds most sought after artist because of his unique feeling and approach to create mind boggling psychedelic trance music with a lot of melancholic vibe and subliminal energy. And as proven a couple of times, an absolute must hear down-tempo artist with praised releases like ‘Subliminal Melancholies’ released on Ajana and ‘Sweet Sadness’ released on Suntrip. This is an artist with a lot of quantity whilst keeping the quality intact – Both in Up- and Downtempo. 01 Electrypnose - Let The Games Begin 02 YabYum* vs Electrypnose - Freeze 03 Chromatone vs Electrypnose - Paganoize 04 Electrypnose - Ornic (Random Remix) 05 Zapata + Elendil + Electrypnose - DesTripLaids 06 Cerebral Factory - Punition Astrale 07 Cerebral Factory - Disturbed (Electrypnose Remix) 08 Energy Loop vs Electrypnose - Don't Kill Me 09 Electrypnose - Tricky Noise 10 Electrypnose - A Sun Burning Far Away The name Electrypnose is said to be a combination of the two words ‘Electric’ and ‘Hypnosis’. For sure the music he creates is electric and many tracks got a very hypnotic feel to them. One of the labels which Electrypnose has been massively represented on is the SF, US based label Geomagnetic.TV and their sub labels like Goa Records, DARKSTAR which is highly active pumping out loads of psychedelic trance expressions. One of their gimmicks which are fun and nice in my opinion is their Magnetic Memoirs series where they gather all the compilation tracks of one selected artist and tries by putting them nicely arranged on one album to create a coherent flow and evolution. Well done Spook! The tracks represented on Electrypnose – Magnetic Memoirs is a nice collection of single tracks by Electrypnose (Vincent Rybicki) himself as well as together with other artists like YabYum, Chromatone, Energy Loop and of course Karash whom he together with Noon created the ‘Cerebral Factory’ project. This is a compilation album with 10 hard knocking tracks that will make your blood rush and heart pump in 137 to 150 Beats Per minute. Some of the tracks are wild and stressful while others are calmer and more subtle psychedelic and pleasant in path and flight. The artwork is fittingly blue and electric with spotlights and electric currents making the decoration. The overall flow is very nice and if you are a fan of this artist and would like to have a gathering of his more obscure tracks which is both similar and slightly off the normal Electrypnose style, this is a release not to be missed. It has some very nice tracks boarding to the gem section and it is a nice testament to Electrypnoses enrolment in the Geomagnetic.TV’s history. Favorite Tracks: 1 ** nice and all but the rough chainsaw synth kills it for me. 2 ***** Really nice flow and I do like those squeaking sounds that just floats nicely in the freeze, plus it has a nice changing in the style at the end minutes which is cool. 3 *** Nice twisters. Sort of stressing full power. Too much for me with too many lifts and breaks. 4 ** Nice and boring, didn’t catch much of my attention. 5 *** Nice trumpets and essential Electrypnose scratching. 6 **** Nice bleeps and calm path with some rugged sounds squiring along a demented river. 7 *** Nice and sort of standstill boring with cute computer noises. Extra point for the end part with the disturbed melody. 8 *** Hard, nice, energetic and crazy with rolling bass lines that got a Déjà vu feeling.. 9 **** Insane stuff, very nice! Maybe a bit too much but something in this insanity clicks. 10 ***** Sweet and nice intro, a more relaxed tune in this compilations slowest track. A good and beautiful last track to end a nice album with loads of impressions. People should be on the outlook for his EP's, this is one track. He's getting much more heavily focused on DUBstep now it seems compared to his Ooze System album which has some. Bird Box (Original Mix) - The Parallel Neighborhood EP

Hi, Ok in the whole world it seems that DUBstep is taking over, and it has for some years now. In Oslo it's no different and it's so popular to have DUBstep parties. Honestly, there is shitloads of phat DUBstep around. I can just look at the ‘Other electronica' for general DUBstep reco's. But I want to ask about recommendations in thid section, the 'General Psytrance' section because I would like to kick some butt and present the good folks of DUBstep Oslo with some nifty hefty orgasmic uber cool Psy-DUBtrip-tunes. I did search and I found one nice thread http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?/topic/58069-psydubpsysteppsybreaks/page__p__952574__hl__dubstep__fromsearch__1&do=findComment&comment=952574 - though this thread I'm writing now i about more precise reco's of DUBstep in the ,,psychedelic" ,,box". So, got recommendations that will blow peoples head off? And as mentioned in the Topic Description, the FREE'er, the better! My reco's are: Some tracks found on http://www.bleepblop.co.uk (thanks Laserflip) Tracks from Mr. Rogers album 'Ooze System' (http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?/topic/53327-mr-rogers-ooze-system) and his EP's which is even better when it comes to DUBstep direction. Here is one track in two remixes: and Its kind of hard to find his tracks on Youtube because their usually called something very different from the original title. and .. Um, the Cosmic Dreams EP by LuneCell availible on Ektoplazm, I just DL'ed it so don't know how good DUBstep it is yet .. You're turn!

PSYTRANCE CAN NEVER BE BOXED; NEVER!!!!!!!! thats the whole point of PsyTrance, it can be everything it has no rules no bouneries exept maybe that it has a beat'n stuff. It is influenced and inspired by everything around us, all sounds all impressions. Anyway, PsyTrance can never be boxed, NEVER!! Who's talking about boxes here, me? bOx-it dunk-a-dunk I'm not smiling so much anymore, I think I'm turning psychotic or am I ..hope not.
-
I'm smiling (: ... just searching for some serenity, you know. And I've had a couple of erotic dreams lately. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxbeHkhH2JE Ok, so too often Progressive Trance is Full-On'ish driven (thinking Israeli, not UK, if that makes any sense in terms'n shit which only confuses more, sort of ..) music slowed down. Where it becomes psychedelic and not euphoric? .. Its about taste, most deff. I guess I like the Tatsu german progressive psychedelic trance tunes more. For me this tracks above (most of) sounds like MDMA music. I don't mind, I just have this thing about trying to actually separate psychedelic from psychotic from euphoric from trippy from hippie. lol. No your right, what I find psyched... pff.. Man, what i find psychedelic and/or trippy people find to be mind-bending. * Oh Yeah! Gotto have some confidence in that. Everything is and can be psychedelic but that really depends on what you connect to a psychedelic experience in audio. I've had enough trips and interest in music in general to separate stuff. Both tracks above will for sure work fine and give an euphoric psychedelic experience if your on LSD, but it's not nessecarly because of the music, it's more the drop inside your brainflow that makes it Wooaw that’s so Psy. Ok ok it depends on what factors your looking and connecting for. I know, I can go in neverending circles about this. I'm just trying to hold my ground without being narrow-minded, or smth peace'n shrooms PS. I do believe a lot of Psytrance may become much more psychotic driven then psychedelic driven. It's like Oh man, I made this music influenced and inspired by Ketamin (fun drug, like drunken psychedelia imo). it's So psychedelic, just listen to those chainsaws and babies crying, really cool stuff høhø. Now lets go mess up someones brainz with this shit, eheh *drool ok I'll shut up, sometimes I don't know exacly what I'm rambling about. Though I feel I have a point, somewhere ....... . <- found it

[OffTopic - Not a review] It's a conspiracy I tell you! I haven't quite figured it out yet but this shit is released by purpose for some demonic reason to filter out folks or something something I donno. Look. As you mentioned the silhouette (nice glowing cover btw) is of a guy holding a gun to the head. The title is Maximum Overdrive (title and content in co-op, success? - Or is Mental Overdrive supposed to be a positive term? e. sorry, I meant Maximum Overload). The artist name is Brainwash. And the music is as you said (all these three points combined. *Gun to head *Mental Overdrive *Brainwash. I haven't and don't intend to listen to this music voluntarily, but from your description it reminds me of this release: http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?/topic/55667-wicked-wires-aka-delysid-magnetic-memoirs-geomagnetictv-darkstar/#entry931187 *But mister trance2MoveU, may I ask a legit question in the artist’s psychedelic defense. Have you dropped a 250 + mic drop and experienced this album first hand? No. Then I may say you don't know what you're talking about :P <- emphasis on the 's Now at least Osom, Psykovsky and the Peace for the Wicked know how to do these tricks that the above artists are trying to achieve. Now for something funny and nice: http://wimp.com/curiousbear

This release deserves a higher score. This is a gem and I will always be truly happy to have this in my collection. Man does it fly high while kicking ass, hard! Ba-bOm!! Such beautiful flow and intense flight these tracks induce! 6.9/7 - Which is a very sexy score!
