Do you know the sample?
Padmapani posted a topic in General Psytrancewhile looking for the track containing a particular sample my best hit on google turned up this thread on psynews. and it actually answered my question. nowhere else did i find any hints. if, in times where psydb is not updated anymore, a forum game is all it takes to preserve information about samples in psy music, then let's start another round! i'll give you a sample, whoever guesses the track containing the sample correctly, gets to name the next sample. let's not make it too easy by choosing samples that are not found in psydb, while revealing the source after a week if there are no answers in order to keep the whole thing going. the first sample is: "there is no light, but there is sound. it fills him in great sluggish waves"
A Serious Game: The R E V I E W Game
Blubber posted a topic in General Psytrancethis is it. the conquest. the healing of the review death. be part of a competition about words, about myths and about inspiration. fight against the commerce, the standard, the comfort, and prevent the death of our culture. revive the mission to explore psychedelic trance music, break your limits and share your thoughts. find your innerself and speak to him, or her, and tell us what u've found. but: there is the guide! the MUSIC. take your weekly dose and listen... this is for the reviews. the rules. if you don't have an account here on psynews, follow the site's instructions to create one. you can't participate without. choose ONE of the following titles. if someone chose the same before take another one. ace ventura paradise engineering (iboga) aegolius moments of wonder (medulla oblongata) arjuna primal contact (parvati) eat static - dead planet (mesmobeat) psychowave - dancefloor metadata (boom!) psykovsky ksointsu (self) spacey koala twistedelik funky activating grooves (kinematic) va forest thunder (bhooteshwara) va internationalism vol.3 (spiral trax) va krafted friends (organic alchemy) va the brave and the bold (osom) u-recken - flames of equilibrium (dacru) yeah, you're right, no goa inside. you won't find here. everything about goatrance is already written. take a browse through the review sections. now, listen at least once a week to the complete album/compilation. it's recommended to listen even more, it will help you to structure your feelings toward the music. if you don't like what you hear it's recommended to listen alot more. sometimes you have to listen sth very very often to appreciate. people call this a grower. if you want to quit, quit. and tell us. someone else will take your album. btw, you don't have to support the artists and buy their music. you will find every track either on bandcamp, youtube, stuff like that. but, and this is a gentleman's agreement here, depending on how much you like your chosen title, you promise to buy the album afterwards. then, in 3 weeks, it's review time! suddenly, the threads will appear. in the review section. your album. everything will be ready. title, artist, album, cover, tracklists. but without an opinion. this is your mission. you have one week to post your review, somehow according to the forum's rules. if you want to piss on sth, do it. it's your right. it's your review. if you want to spread some love or laughter, do it. it's your words. when you liked what you've experienced, take the next free title from the list and repeat the procedure. if your words won't appear, it is written in stone that you failed becoming an allright soldier of the psy. and shame will fall upon u... if we manage to complete the list the next six weeks, we will count. everyone gets one point for every review he or she has written. then, we can enter round 2... don't be shy, be honest, be curious, be brave, be a soldier... a soldier against the review's death.

Favorite Video Games? So like the title states, what are your favorite video games and why? Some of my favorites are: Super Mario 64 Super Mario Galaxy Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap Deus Ex: Human Revolution Dark Souls 1 Need for Speed: Undercover Need for Speed: Most Wanted Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles Frogger Second Sight Elder Scroll Series Fallout Series Fire Emblem Civilization 3 and 4 and more that I can't think of at the moment... So why do I like them so much? I like them all for various reasons that are similar. One is the nostalgia factor, I can't deny that I do have some of it but hey some of the older games are awesome. A Link to the Past is probably my favorite of the Zelda series because it practically sets up how every other Zelda game works and plays, plus it is just good. Mario is something I have always loved (along with the rest of the Nintendo games). But I really love Galaxy. I love the worlds that they made and music! The music is just awespiring and inspiring. I love it so much, I sometimes turn on the game just to listen to it. Fire Emblem is something I played when I was younger and I loved the story of each game and the character development, plus I liked the fact that it is turn based. I like Civilization because of that reason also. Though 4 is newer, I prefer 3 more because I like the art style and I am more use to it. Need for Speed is sort of self-explanatory, it's a racing game how can you hate that, plus cop chases are fun. Sonic is something else I always enjoyed. But damn that Carnival level, never beat the game with Sonic because of that. I like the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series because of the freedom of choice, the effects of your choices, and the lore in general. The same thing with Dark Souls, but except that you have to do the exploring and thinking in Dark Souls to figure out the story. Plus I just love the combat (and the millions of deaths you have). Deus Ex is one of those games I fell in love with right away. I love cyperpunk theme stuff. So I like stuff like Blade Runner and other stuff. Deus Ex is quite good because of the story, the gameplay, and music. It seems to me that whenever the music is good, the game is usually good also. I love the atmosphere that is shown and built in this game and in Dark Souls. So what are your favorite games?
Write something for the user above you
Guest posted a topic in Off TopicThat's pretty simple. You can write something for the user above you, something funny, an anecdote, a taunt, a comment or maybe a hint. You can also instead post a picture or perhaps a quote, a verse, few song lyrics, or even a youtube track or video. First Rule: Keep it polite. There might be sarcasm or criticism, but no abusive expression. Second Rule: You cannot post two times in a row. That means you have to wait for the user after the next of you. You can also make comments for other comments if you want, but only when you are allowed to post, and not for other users. ------------------ So, the above user of the next user to post, is me
Name the Goa track --- Really fun game
Ormion posted a topic in General PsytranceSince the forum is pretty active lately why don't we play a fun game? Below is a video with samples from 50 Goa tracks. All you have to do is to name as many as you can. Each sample is only 20 seconds, but it represents the signature melody of the track, so if you know the song you won't have a problem. Some tracks are very easy, some others may be tricky. I didn't use any obscure track from a rare release, so anyone can play. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-3z9qasW5A&feature=youtu.be Rule 1: Don't cheat! Rule 2: Post your answers in spoiler tags! (Go to special BBCode and select spoiler) Here are the correct answers: ps1. It took me 1,5 hours to make that shit so play. ps2. The winner gets a dinner with radi.
