  1. "I want some psy that would fit as a soundtrack when you run through an abandoned city after a nuclear incident. Something that captures the atmosphere." you imminent starvation, that IS their music. http://ant-zen.darkambient.net/imminent/sounds/arles.mp3
  2. GMS to me invented full on. the bassline, the nord lead 2 FM/pitch mod sounds, the less crazy hi hat stuff... i forget what the gms track is called with the sample "i recieved this information from an alllllien", no body was using the nord lead like that then. then some people started copying GMS because they got bigger but toned down the weirdness, then GMS started toning it down to match what was popular. the thing i dont remember is when the term full on became what it is now. i can remember telling people in 1999-2000 that i liked "full on" psytrance, but that ment like saikopod as opposed to something more goa sounding or minimal.
  3. naa its always been like this, the old 604 list was filled with assholes
  4. me too, i wouldnt even give astrix the chance until i heard this track.. its baddass and so are most of his tracks. really full on sucks because its virtually all just bad astrix ripoffs, it took me awhile to realize that.
  5. well who needs metalica anymore...tool's new album should be out in a few months.. as far as this posford track i actually think it sounds alot better than most of what ive heard from him in the last few years. I dont hold posford up as holy cow but his old stuff was just incredible. At this point though ill take what i can get from him, the agression in his old tracks and the feeling he's trying to reach for something more is gone. I can understand though being he probly lives a really great life and is treated like a god why the music wouldnt be agressive. For reaching for something more I really dont see what more he could grab for.
  6. ive just started to get into Live 5 and while its not the easiest up front it certainly seems to be the most logical layout of any DAW ive tried. When you learn something new it makes you thinkg "why didnt sequencer X do it that way?"
  7. "I will probably find some more 10/10s if I go back and check into old Koxbox" Dragontales! comeon!!!
  8. wow Elysium you really are an asshole. yea its a tragedy 10,000 people died in pakistan. But its a pystrance board and parasense was a pretty big artist, if you dont like people posting respect for the dead then dont read it. I thought the whole idea of these boards was to create a community, communities tend to morn the dead. As far as it mattering that he killed himself, unless your extremely abnormal i imagine you have had thoughts of suicide at some point in your life but obviously didnt go through with it. Now imagine the pain this person was feeling to have actually gone through with it. RIP
  9. "Why is it so hard to respect producers for their work they do?" well for me its not that i dont respect some of these crybaby producers in this thread, its i just think they must be giving bj's to the label owners in order to get their shitty music released?
  10. i would go with the mackie 624 all the way.
  11. i actually have to go with early GMS. the first 2 albums are probly the most fucked up, original and pyschedelic music ever made in this genre, especially when you compare it with other stuff at the time. Equally fucked up is how the same group can be the height of cheese cliche today.
  12. SX will also do this with its time stretch process, as long as you know the BPM of the source material its easy, then just set the bpm you wish to have as the output.
  13. "check out some real dark psy....... cydonia-in fear of a red planet much better then todays so called dark psy bullshit......" how can you not like ghreg on earth then? if his stuff was 6 years older he would surely be putting stuff out on atomic.
  14. 2005 - great year for production value, "fucked up sounds", and cliche. A year of very little actual music though. easily the worst ever
  15. " its just beats/gabber/speedcore, thats all.. the whole album, it ain't bad but wtf... Rossz Csillag Alatt Született is a masterpiece, unique mood, unique compositions, unique sounds, violins, cello's" well part of it is that its gabber/speedcore, ive never heard anything else in that genre worth listening to. I love how "unintelligent" it is, completely over the top stupid wise, total crackhead music. i bet it destroys on a big system. Rossz Csillag Alatt Született isnt bad, maybe i need to listen to it more. really virtually all his music kicks ass.
  16. "http://www.discogs.com/release/381959 Far too experimental for common taste (and far too gabberistic ), so even I don't enjoy it much, but track 5 is awesome and really psychedelic to me. Try to check it out." oops didnt see this posted... yea track 5 is just fucking awesome, one of the most kick ass pieces of music ever. track 3 is pretty badass too.."a winnipeg wrestling coach was accused of sexually assaulting one of his athletes"
  17. "Venetian Snares - Rossz Csillag Alatt Született" over winnipeg is a frozen shithole ? no way.... my tops are" coil - the ape of naples venetian snares - winnipeg is a frozen shithole hecate - seven veils of silence (alot of psy heads i bet would dig this, its like world music power noise) Xanopticon vs. Eiterherd - Novus Ordo Seculorum ive just recently got into Xanopticon, Liminal Space from 2003 is probly some of the most fucked up music ive ever heard. if you want to get into ant zen stuff certainly check out imminent starvation - nord, thats like the Hallucinogen - Twisted of powernoise.
  18. for me good trance doesnt produce feelings, it produces a real "trance" like feeling that is above emotions.
  19. " this thread is quite funny... any way... what were you all expecting? Please give some details... I"m sure for Mr Bluetech the music is very deep and meaningful" well its also quite funny that you can assume its meaningful to him? Maybe he just cranked it out because he has alot of musical talent/keyboard chops and he makes his living off making music, but wasnt very inspired to go beyond what he did before, who knows. If i had never heard his old stuff i would think this album is a classic, its surely far better than most other chill coming out. What i dont like is that its not as complex as his earlier stuff and the songs just dont seem to be as well composed as the earlier songs. There are some incredibly interesting moments in this disk, with some truely crazy sounds, but thats about it for me.
  20. ive never tried one but the demo mp3s sound amazing. im sure you could find all kinds of uses for it, its not like your going to find a software filter that is even 1% in the ballpark as that thing.
  21. coil - the ape of naples not psytrance, just pure mind expanding music. all the tracks are great but its worth it just to hear this track called "going up". Amazing music made by someone a few weeks before they physically died(going up!) its erie. its a fucking masterpiece, its probly about a month's listening away from knocking out are you shpongled as my all time fav.
  22. "The best years were 1995 - 1998. Back then very few artists were imitating eachother, everyone was doing their own thing and doing it with verve, passion and innovation. Alas, those days are over, never to be repeated." well i would say Ghreg On Earth - Sigil Weaver fits the bill of passion, innovation and doing your own thing. Thats completely it though, only album i bought this year. Everything else i downloaded and deleted. Dark psy releases sound no different than free tracks on isratrance, full-on...well i was bored with that 2 years ago.
  23. i was assuming this would be my easy top of 2005 but its easily the biggest disappointment. I love his first 2 albums, i was hoping this would push things into a new level but to me it almost sounds like a step back. Some nice moments but the tracks just dont go anywhere and the whole thing sounds uninspired, like just going through the motions.
  24. fuck psy this week, coil - the ape of naples, one of the best albums ive ever heard.
