  2. this is what I'm talking about. off topic should make no sense.
  3. There's loads of aggressive DnB out there, and yup it's better than the commercial stuff. It's more about having lots of energy than about being aggressive for me though. I think you're looking for 'Neurofunk', atleast that's what it's called. Noisia - Stigma, Lost Cause, Exodus, End Game Spor - Tactics EP, Supernova EP Dieselboy - all of his mixes Evol Intent - Era of Diversion album Stakka & Skynet - Clockwork album, Global Report Calyx & Teebee - The Divide Nightbreed - Pack of Wolves (Pendulum Remix) Technical Itch - Contaminate, Portscan Konflict - Messiah (Original and the Noisia remix) The Qemists - Stompbox (Spor Mix) I got my full list of DnB here
  4. Oh yea, mine were general suggestions. I didn't tailor them to the mix.
  5. Thanks for sharing these tracks. Finding good PsyDnB is really hard. Liked the Vector Burn track especially. DnB seems to be good at creating these sparse, dark ambientish atmospheres. In case you haven't heard these, check out Big Mistake - Worm , Sibilant - Proper Filth, Mahisha - Mahisha Empire, Nam Shub of Enki meets Kiki.ILL - _Clickher, and Axi - Mayan Empire. Last one is really good!
  6. Steven Erikson - The Crippled God. Final book of the Malazan series, which is my favourite fantasy series! (Atleast favourite complete series )
  7. Kick drum @ 1:30 Shiva Shidapu - Power of Celtic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERhLGaZmQyw
  8. Shouldn't any good psy track be able to give you a high? It does for me. I never understood why people say you need to do drugs to appreciate psy :S
  9. My fav trance tracks in rough order...mainstream trance really has some great tracks. This kind of trance feels simpler and more innocent than goa imo # Dance 2 Trance - We Came in Peace # Solar Quest - Acid Air Raid # Sasha - Xpander (Progressive) # Space Manoeuvres - The Seventh Planet (Leama & Moor Mix) # Rabbit in the Moon - Out of Body Experience # Hybrid - Finished Symphony # Future Sound of London - Dead Cities (Dark Trance atleast thats what it sounds like to me) # Orbital - Remind # Quench - Dreams # Nathan Fake - The Sky was Pink (James Holden Mix) # The KLF - What Time is Love? # Charm - Brain Structure # Aphex Twin - Digeridoo # Resistance D - Cosmic Love # Aril Brikha - Winter # Holden & Thompson - Nothing (93 Returning Mix) # Lost Tribe - Gamemaster # Balil - Parasight # Pryda - The End # Hardfloor - Acperience 1 # Miro - Purple Moon # Royksoop - A Beautiful Day Without You # Brainchild - Symmetry (C-Mix) # The Light - Panfried (Original Mind over Matter Mix) # Jam & Spoon - Stella # Orbital - Belfast # Psychobabble - Inverted Forces # Union Jack - Red Herring # Underworld - Thing in Book # Rabbit in the Moon - Deeper # Emmanual Top - Acid Phase # Three Drives - Greece 2000 # 4Voice - Eternal Spirit (Northern Mix) # Robert Miles - Children (Dream Version) # Sasha - Rabbitweed # Gabriel & Dresden - Lament (Satoshi Mix) # Levitation - Out of Time
  10. That definitely does not sound like the artist who produced Telepath and Micronesia I would kill for another track like Telepath.
  11. Yup! They take DnB and do all sorts of things with it, incorporate techno/breakcore/IDM, but that's what makes the album stand out. A lot of DnB, even the good stuff, is the same broken beats and broken bass, not so much variation. The tracks are uniformly good, and there are some real gems in there... The Curtain Falls, South London, The Awkward Rhythm of Dance, Maybe We'll Dance Tomorrow, the title track with the acid synths... Plus the album actually has a theme, which I don't think is something common in DnB. I love the Foreward with that crazy sample.
  12. The only genres I know enough about are goa/psy and DnB. So of all the DnB I've heard the IFO would definitely be Evol Intent - Era of Diversion hands down. I know many people would prolly go for something LTJ Bukem but for me the Evol Intent album is really what DnB is all about.
  13. From whatever I know, KLF - What Time is Love? came first in '88. And then A.B.Kazes - Out of Space Trance in '89 though Discogs says '96 but I thought it was '89, dunno. Dance 2 Trance - We Came in Peace was '90, Trilithon - Trance Dance was '91, and The Overlords - Sundown (Ionizer Mix) was '92. (I hope I got all those dates right...) Age of Love was '90 but I don't find it all that trance-ey to be honest.
  14. I don't. They're like a reflection of the people who listen to the music, and some of them are so terrible...
  15. Have you seen YouTube comments for Dubstep tracks? The tracks reflect the audience...
  16. Blue Planet Corporation - c'est sublime! Followed by Jaia. Asia 2001 and Transwave are great too. Total Eclipse was never my cup of tea.
  17. Solar Quest - Acidophilez is a compilation of all his good stuff Acid forever!
  18. This is one of those impossible to answer questions, 'cause they are a handful of impossibly good albums that which are impossible to compare... But its still fun to try and answer. So the best would be one of these I hazard... From Goa trance - Trust in Trance, Alien Protein, I.F.O., Blue Planet, Twisted, Silicon Trip, Beyond the Infinite, Cosmology From whatever psy I've heard maybe - Uncanny Beats, Dragon Tales, Sigilweaver, In Memory of Love
  19. Great track, thanks for sharing! If only more progressive was like this....
  20. I have a list that pretty much covers goa trance...
  21. It seems you mean tracks with a theme? Thats really hard to find in psy. Your post reminds me of Orbital's Snivilisation album but thats house. You could try Ubar Tmar - Macrometasomakosmos? I also feel Koxbox's Doktor Mesmer is a very intelligent track but intelligent due to the many layers and how they come together. If you like Doktor Mesmer, try Sound Pollution - Where.
  22. What I always post in these topics http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8K2YOVZqGkU Osom - Night Flirt in parts too
  23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLTYiPgn4mk Usual pop track, but it has a great melody.
