http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/...forum/8/start/0 there u go
-
yep i did know that.... probably explains why vibrasphere got really good fast..
-
es2 is a very nice synth from logic.. u can't use it in cubase... but u can do pretty much the same thing in cubase as in logic.. what matters is how u use them...
-
X-dream is a must... check the album radio.. and we created our own happiness
-
Plz comment on this track.

i think the intro is a little too long.. u might wanna put a break before the kick starts.. also get rid of that lfo sound in the intro once the kick comes in , it sounds too busy... also at 2:47 there is a way too much bass on one sound, needs EQ badly... cut the low frequency it also gets a little too repetitive imo... some melodies are playing the sane thing for too long, maybe try making a longer melody or end it sooner... 2nd part of the track u might wanna put a diff. pattern in the melody cause it's the same as in the 1st part, which makes the track more repetitive... production is not very clear, but i know it's hard with reason to get very clear prod, especially on kick and bass... -
my thoughts exactely... especially when u said that "My impression is that the Spun-sound has been a bad influence on him– the focus in a lot of the tracks is on those fast GMS-trademark squeaky hands in the air melodies, while I miss the rougher, deeper sound and more subtle melodic-work from his earlier releases. Don’t get me wrong though, I like a lot of the material from GMS and Spun in general and neither of the tracks here are pure garbage – but it wasn’t nearly as good as expected from one of my favourite full on artists." i feel the same way.. he made too many tracks with gms, and now he seems to sound more like them... i was expecting a lot from this album after tracks like mind stuck, echo groove or blasterizer (my 3 favs from him) but i got very disappointed... too many collaborations i think on this album... and it's been a trend lately.. it's like we no longer get an artists album but one of collaboration... and it shows in some of the tracks... while i think it's a great learning experience to collaborate with other artists it doesn't always produce the best results imo... anyway fav tracks 1 (minus the melody during 2nd part), 2 and 6. 6/10

I want to start producing!
benf52 replied to doggBALLZ's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
i would say buy some good monitors and a good mixer (mackie 16 channels) plus a good sound card.... then buy some controller keyboard... like oxygen 8.. or smthg similar... -
few trax are ok, but it wears off vey fast... some great sounds and the production is very nice... but lacks some imagination and depth imo...
-
what about fruityloops and reason ?
benf52 replied to BeOn's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
AMEN to that... -
Hi all, i need a good kick
benf52 replied to Visnu Dharma's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
i think what insomniac meant is u can create ur own kick drum from scratch... u need to set the resonance all the way up.. then u need to modulate the filter cutoff.. and set the envelope... and u can get nice kicks that way... -
Hi all, i need a good kick
benf52 replied to Visnu Dharma's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
either u use samples, then search on soulseek for samples... or u can make ur own.. but that can be hard at the begining imo.. i use logic's es1 to make kicks.. does the job... -
for me cheezy has little to do with selling albums... there were many good goa bands that made cheezy tracks imo, but still it doesn't mean it is in the goal of selling albums... and it is not touching either.. i mean the whole point about intense feelings is a very subjective thing... i get intense feeling in psy when i listen to groovy and psychedelic tracks.... for me cheezy is fluffy melodies, ususally i have to skip the track as soon as those melodies show up, like in many AP tracks, or yahel, or many others... it just really turns me off... but i understand some people like it so that's cool...

xdream - telegram 'and my head feels like a telegram, and i am starting to edit" rain i also agree with u about the hallucinogen sample... the one in the 1st track from the gathering "what do u want us to do?.... DIIIIIIIIEEEEEEE" hehe love that one and many others i can't remember on top of my head...
-
LOL ensign... man that pic of traveller receiving his promo... too much...
-
next i think on isratrance they should forbid people who are not artists from posting replies to top 10 hehe... that way we might avoid the endless "killlaahhhh" comments and people sucking artist's ass...
-
not sure what to think about it... i guess it could be useful to see what tastes people who do reviews have... i mean as long as it doesn't get as stupid as on isratrance (and i doubt it would) i have no pbs with it...
-
hehe... someone got offended it seems.. truth hurts as they say.. and no i am not gonna waste time looking for threads.. just the fact that u are so defensive tells me u know it's the truth...
-
to traveller... no i am not a stalker... just someone who is tired of reading ur endless posts against mp3s and ur biased views about twisted records... and no i don't envy ur promos as i don't like most of what they release (good music yes, just not my taste for the most part)... and yes i do buy music just for ur info.. granted i don't buy as much music as i used to (i probably have somewhere around 150 psytrance cds) but i buy when i really like something... but u r right on one thing.. it's true that most of ur posts r not against mp3... let me rephrase that... one thing i know is u can't keep ur opinion for urself about mp3s... look we all know how u feel, so keep it for urself thank u... and about me using drugs which makes it impossible to buy records, that's pretty lame... for one thing i don't do drugs, or very rarely.. two if that's what u think of every person who downloads then u have some growing up to do... as far as pointing out one post where u said everything but twisted suck.. well u din't use those exact words but there were many posts (and i am not gonna waste my time looking for them) where u basically said everything twisted does is so great... and most other psy outhere is no good... maybe u can't be objective b/c u get those promos, i think that's more like it... so same advice here.. we know u love twisted, keep it to urself thank u...
-
i have to second that... medicine drum is great if u like tribal stuff... especially the album "talking stick".. u can't go wrong with that one...
-
u can use compressors for two things: - to make a sound fatter, give it more punch as cybernetika said... - to make levels more even for a sound... i 'll give u an example. let's say u have this lead in ur track where u want to turn the filter cuttoff way up... chances are when the filter goes up the level will also go way up.. so u can set a compressor to avoid clipping and to make sure that the levels won't be so drastically different after u do ur filter tweak... hope that made sense... try to learn what each setting does on the compressor, and don't overuse it...
-
traveller is pissed cause he is on a cruisade against mp3... just go to isratrance and u'll see that half his post are about people who are so lame cause they download mp3... (the other half being that all music suck except twisted records stuff... )
-
i am not offended btw... lol i think u did though... i was only pointing out that al3andar had every right to say what he did...
-
@ rain... well when u say goa is alive u r implying that goa is dead... that's just a fact.. so try not to jump on al3xandar cause he has every right to feel that way...

Using other VSTi's in reason?
benf52 replied to zee_werp's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
yes u can.. u need cubase though... which is more complicated... u can have cubase as ur main sequencer, and have ur reason tracks coming inside cubase... -
Using other VSTi's in reason?
benf52 replied to zee_werp's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
u can't... that's the big limitation with reason...
