i agree with overdose and RTP... those people that will soon hear psytrance on the radio and pollute psy parties are for the most part pretty obnoxious... i mean i saw that myself when i went to clubs... a lot of people come who don't know anything about psytrance, and some of them are nice, but most of them are just very disrespectful, they get drunk and push people, they are more superficial and are less open minded.. the thing is that they already have tons pf places where they can go so yes i do mind if they come to psytrance parties... and btw i live in san francisco... and when inf. mushroom would be coming to town the club where i used to go would be packed with those people and other ravers who were pretty obnoxious, so that should say something about what IM's music has become btw...whereas in other parties in the same club with other less known and less commercial acts that pb was really lessened...when i asked the promoter how come the club was so packed (with not very nice people) he told me that people just love IM... ah well there i am bashing them again but like i said before the music played attracts a certain kind of people, so if psytrance becomes more and more simple and less and less psychedelic (which has been the tendency) then those people will come more and will pollute the parties.. like it's been happening already... and then there will be more fights (i have seen those to) more disrespectful people, and that's not what psytrance parties are about imo...

well psychosis i'll have to disagree with u... listen to that interview posted by filteria in the topic "what happened to inf.mushroom"... they clearly say that if they make a track and the crowd doesn't like it, they go back in the studio and change it or even not release it at all... that is called selling out in my book... selling out is when u release stuffs that people will like, compromising what u really like personnaly...it's not just about making money... and about ur mainstream argument... well there is enough mainstream music outhere allready... and many people who listen psytrane don't like mainstream music.. that's why they get upset when groups that they used to like are desperetely trying to become mainstream, thereby compromising the quality of their music... granted, they always try to innovate and indeed they are geniouses, that is maybe why people get upset cause they have so much talent and imo they don't fully put it to use cause of their dream of MTV and fame... and to finish i would say get over it when u read people complain about them... if u don't like it go check the infected mushroom website u will like it better for sure...

well many sounds also sound great if u're not tripping... and what it takes to make good sounds like inf mushroom can make is knowledge in technical stuffs and u also have to be creative... u need to always try new things and think about ways u can make new sounds all the time, which is not easy... listen to classical mushroom or the gathering, those albums were pretty psychedelic and i don't believe that they were tripping every weekend when they wrote them... so u don't need to have taken any drugs to make trippy music, i think what is more important is a certain state of mind, or a way of thinking about music and also to be innovative... good music is good music, if u're tripping or not... and everybody doesn't take acid in parties too btw....

i don't think the quality of music has anything to do with the drugs taken if any... and inf mushroom for ex don't do drugs... it's just a fact of creation.. i don't know if u make music seraph but if u do u will see that it is hard to keep having new and interesting ideas all the time... so that's why a lot of artists make their best stuffs early on... also fame and money pollutes creation to some extent

the thing is in every interview IM make u can tell that they make music more for the crowd than for themselves... like in the link that filteria posted they said that if a track doesn't work on the dancefloor they will go back in the studio and change it, or even not release it at all... they became slaves to the mass of people following them... compared to the beginning when they were making what they really wanted... and they have always said that would love to be on MTV, so that says it all for me anyway... and overdose i understand how u feel.. just keep in mind that the infected we knew is gone and will not come back... once u get that it'll be easier to deal with... as for the new album i will download it also, but probably delete the whole thing quickly as i did with CV anyway... i refuse to put money into what they do nowadays...

mines are: infected mushroom - the gathering xdream - radio & we created our own happiness vibrasphere - echo atmos - headcleaner hallucinogen - twisted and lone deranger shpongle - bothe albums makyo entheogenic overlap - 6th sense cosmosis - intergalactic and there are some more that i can't remember right now...

quark please don't take everything so personnaly because u still like inf. mushroom... the fact is that releases are getting weaker and weaker.. the psychedelic elements are getting harder to find... track structure is getting worse and worse..... only the production and the sounds are getting better....i think it is due to two things essentially: -it's becoming too easy to produce -psytrance is becoming more and more mainstream... and it's only gonna get worse... before it eventually gets better (i wouldn't hold my breath though....) of course there are still good releases.. like overlap for me this year, or freq recently... but compared to the amount of stuffs being released there is not much good stuffs anymore... compared to 1999/2000 when there were less release but more quality stuff...

i agree... they have been dead for me for a while too, right after classical mushrrom was released... i mean they were a couple of good tracks on bp empire (like 2 of them) but they have gone downhil from there... i can't stand their overly digital sound nowadays, sounds too plastic and not warm at all, and their track structure has also gone downhill if u compare to the gathering or classical mushroom, so has their sounds... and that singign is just plain awfull really... i can't seem to listen to anything these guys do nowadays... and that says a lot considering i got into psytrance thanks to them in the first place after listenning the gathering which i loved so much... and classical was a great piece of work... u need to look no further than their website... seems like people who dig their music nowadays are 16 year old kids who are only interested in braging about how many IM tracks they have.... well, their new music is not crap, but it almost become so considering the potential that these guys have, which is huge... i will not go to see them live again, cause as seraph said i got really bored the last time i saw them....
