yes u can.. u need cubase though... which is more complicated... u can have cubase as ur main sequencer, and have ur reason tracks coming inside cubase...

i voted shpongle but i think it's hard to just pick one... i also like toires, makyo, aes dana and entheogenic very much... so hard choice for me..

i think all the bands u mentionned are using cubase or logic or something similar... and they also have many synthesizers and a nice mixer (like mackie 32 channels or at least 16 channels)... so u can try reason or fruity loops, but don't expect to sound like those bands... but for starters get those two, and once u get the hang of it move to cubase or logic... and yes oxigen 8 is a nice midi controller..

well yes it is good music... if u can't hear that i would suggest u get ur ears cleaned... but of course it's not ur style so i am not surprised u don't think it's good music.. for u good music = style u like, u can't seem to be able to get passed it... oh well ur loss...

have u ever used logic or cubase? if not how can u say that the sound quality is the same? u have to try both before u can assure that the sound quality is the same.. i did a test with a some friends of mine who wanted to get into music... i showed them reason and then logic, and they told me that now they understand what the difference is, it's mostly in fatness of sound and more accurate reproduction of what is going on... and btw u don't have to use logic or cubase with hardware, u can use vsts only and the logic's synths for ex... more than enough to make good music...

yo ensign, what's up? i second u on that one man... this topic makes no sense, maybe someone is bored today? and people who don't think xdream's album are good obviously have no idea what they r talking about... u may not like the style (i really didn't like the last album for example) but those guys make good music, no doubt... good production, fat sounds, great arrangements, innovative music.. so my advice to those people is: start making music then u will understand... cause u are only judging albums by the style and not by the actual quality of it...

well.. the eternal fight... i used to use reason myself for like a year... then i moved to logic... it's true u can make good tunes with reason or fruity loops, but logic or cubase just has a better sound.. it is undeniable... the sound is fatter, heavier, while the sound coming out of fruity or reason has this software sound to it... so amithababudha and the others who think reason or fruity is as good as logic or cubase, just get a copy of either one of them, make some tunes with it for a few weeks, and then come back and tell me which is better... i mean why on earth would all the major acts in the scene (hallucinogen, infected, gms, talamasca and countless others) use logic or cubase if fruity or reason was just as good?? doesn't make any sense to me... i think the pb is when people who use fruity or reason hear that those pgms r not as good , they think we are saying that their music is not good... that's not what people are saying... i heard some of ur tunes amithababudha and i think u definitely has some talent, but i am telling u if u move to logic or cubase u will improve ur production...

i would say for sex the best imo is ambient chill stuff.. anything mellow basically... like makyo, shpongle...

ammithbaba... sorry if i was a little harsh.. and thanx for being open to crticism i picked u b/c u r the one who critizes full-on the most out there... and the fact that u make music has nothing to do with it... i do think that hate is a bad thing.. i mean it doesn't do any good to hate smthg, it only brings bad emotions... and as far as god is concerned.. well i may irritate some people but i don't think there is a god outthere.. i don't believe in religion either.. it does more bad than good imo... and trust me i know a little bit how u feel... i have issues with a lot of the full-on being released too, just try to focus on the good releases and maybe go back to listening the good stuff from a few years ago, like i have been doing these days hope there is no hard feelings btw us...

i agree about absynth.. very hard to make sounds on this thing... but some amazing sounds for sure... favorite plugs: -pro-53 -absynth -es2 from logic -vb-l for bass -battery for samples

but still u need to chill man... we know how u feel... yes u r frustrated b/c u don't like full-on... then i would say don't listen to it... put ur negative energy into making goa music that u like, and please stop polluting this forum with ur anti-fullon comments... be respectful to others, otherwise maybe u need to create ur own forum called "i love goa" or smthg and stay with goa lovers (who btw don't seem to be more open-minded that people who r very much into full-on...)

thx fot the replies... i already do the velocity thing where i lower the velovity on the bass note playing with the kick... but i was listenning to x-dream radio lately.. in the 2nd track "freak" they have this bass, and one note is clearly running on the same not as the kik, like this BBB BBB K K so how do they do it? i mean obviously they don't lower the velovity on that note that plays with the kick... i know that these guys r very talented but man their kick bass combo,. especially on this album is amazing and E.P yeah man give us some tricks... cause saying if it sounds good it's good is not very helpful... share ur knowledge.. i do get ur point about formulaic music, and i know that there r not rules, but there's gotta be some trick to eq bass and kick nicely...

what is wrong with u people.... i mean seraph, amithbaba and the others ... like the first guy said it is a matter of taste... look, i have to admit that astral has talents, i like some of their songs a lot (like liquid sun for ex.) but i just can't listen to most songs cause they ruin them with those cheezy goa melodies.. many times i like the first 2 or 3 mins and then bam here comes the cheeze... so let people be.. people have different taste.. one doesn't have to like astral projection.. and no it doesn't grow on u rain and amith baba.. maybe it grew on u guys, but it doesn't grow an anybody.. it never grew on me and same for many of my friends... and last but not least ... it's not about doing a review describing all the sounds, etc... those review r just as uninformative as review based simply on taste... i'll give u an example.. i read ur review of the last 1200 mics album.. u gave 10/10... this album has some nice trax, especially the last one that i really like.. but come on 10/10 is reserved for classic album such as xdream - radio of infected mushroom - classical mushroom for example... u may not like these albums (these r examples, there r more great albums outhere) but those are much more original and deep than anything 1200 mics has ever released imo... what i am saying is that albums should not be reviewed solely based on the style and whether u like that style or not, but also on whether the album has depth and has some originality...

well i said i have a nord lead so that's hardware.. as far as software vs hardware i feel that spftware is def good enough.. but hardware has an extra warmth to it, especially analog synths... and my nord has some pretty fat filters and oscillators... a little bit better than the software i use... i am no expert though
