  1. the click sound in ur bass is an enveloppe problem... adjust the attack and release (should be one of those 2)... as far as good bass sound... try audiorealism, vb-l, and i got some success with cronos lately... give it a shot... and yes Eq is important but not absolutely necessary, depends on the synth and the bass u got... but i am not master at this.. just like u trying to get better at it... it takes a lot of time...
  2. check the last album from yotopia... some nice tracks in there...
  3. xdream.... the biggest bass... check the album radio... huge bass on there... also future prophecy...
  4. i know that most of us can't pay the pros.. i guess my point is that from what i know, if u don't what u r doing it's best not to master ur tracks... just make the best possible mix and play it like that... then if u become better and can release it, then u send it to get a good mastering... i think too many people think of mastering as the solutions to pbs in the mix, when it's better to try to not have those in the first place...
  5. as far as mastering.. u should not do it urself.. instead focus on getting the best sound in ur tracks... don't look at the mastering as the solution to fixing errors... the pros can do a much better job than u anyway...
  6. what kind of comp u have? how much ram? what kind of soundcard? i use logic so i am not familiar with fruity but i think logic and cubase eat more cpu than fruity... so u should record some parts (especially the ones with plug-ins that eat ur cpu) u will have to do it anyway if u move to cubase or logic in the future, so might as well get used to it now
  7. i like the sounds in the intro... then bass is very nice too.. u got some really cool grooves and sounds there... maybe the kick needs to be a little more present... i like ur style though... nice work man... great groove throughout... keep up the good work...
  8. the hujaboy track has some good moments imo... especially that first acid line...
  9. dancing with kadafi was not made in reason.. no way... there was just s.one who made a version in reason that's all...
  10. just use cubase with some vsts... the synths (vsts) r better on cubase anyway...
  11. listened to it again... those melodies r really irritating... ear bleed for me...
  12. i really don't get the buzz about this track... talamasca has done much better tracks before... the melody is nothing special, the track lacks layers like ukiro said... i just can't get into his music nowdays... i gave up after musica divinorum... i mean go listen to tracks on that one and compare with "overload"....
  13. no... goa has never done anything for me, except a very few tracks... i think it's good some people still make it though... more variety is always good
  14. u don't need a keyboard at first... sure it is nice but if u have a limited budget u don't have to buy one now... u can make music by puting in the notes with the mouse... as far as using the computer keys as a keyboard, i don't know if u can do that...
  15. i do think u will be able to make much better basslines with cubase than reason... get vb-l... works well for me... as for waves, it's got a lot of good EQs, compressors, and more stuff.. i use it mainly for eq and compression...
  16. infected mushroom steal stuff?? wtf... they have their own sounds imo.. and yes they got inspired by simon, but who didn't... as far as x-dream and logic bomb.. those songs are a little similar, logic bomb really like x-dream, so maybe that's why.. but both those trax r great... some of my favorite...
  17. @ prosect: maybe i was a little harsh... i know it is hard to remix a track, especially when the original is really good... i guess if i had heard ur track on its own i would have liked it, but comparing it to the original it lost some appeal... anyway apologies if i was too harsh... i will give another listen to ur track when i get back from holiday to see if it grows on me
  18. i think u guys r a little harsh imo... true it has been done before, true that it is the typical andromeda sound... some trax on their album were stronger than this... but this is still good.. especially the blue vortex and the artax rmx imo... i did not like the imploded rmx at all, cause the original was so good, and this one doesn't even come close... not revolutionary but a solid release (especially considering the huge amount of unlistenable stuff being put out on a regular basis)...
  19. dunno.. i use logic... never tried getting cubase.. but i am sure u can... actually i am not sure u need a crack.. like for ex the logic version i got has no crack..; it is cracked but has no crack file if u know what i mean... i don't know shit about cracking software so take my word with a grain of salt..
  20. computer i would say 1000 dollars... could be more could be less... monitors depends, around 300-400 will do at the begining... vsts are virtual synthesizers... they r small applications who work with pgms like cubase.. u can start with cubase right away, but it is harder... u will need someone to show u stuff, or u will have to read a lot about music production ... u can download cubase and plugins with pgms like soulseek or DC ++ good luck
  21. main thing is a strong computer... then u need some good monitors.. then all the rest is free (u can download all the software) get reason, or fruity loops ( latest version u can find).. then after a few months get cubase, or logic audio...
