  1. This is probably why his music is missing at Soundcloud: https://www.facebook.com/elysium94
  2. That's weird! It wasn't meant as a joke, the samples really did sound great, but it seems like his user has been removed:
  3. These samples are very promising: Could be album of the year.
  4. Some more collaborations for the AI: Son Kite vs Vibrasphere X-dream vs Vibrasphere Huxflux vs Koxbox Hi-score vs Subcouds Hallucinogen vs Prometheus (uptempo, not Younger Brother stuff)
  5. I've collected the best Astral Projection new school tunes: Something to keep you company while waiting for the album.
  6. Some favorites: Quirk - Machine Electrica & Fornax Chemica Ubar Tmar - True Shaolin Wooden Men - Supermindway
  7. Here's another one: Hallucinogen vs Infected Mushroom (old school)
  8. Many of you have already heard about the AI that generated new music inspired by Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse, Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix: https://consequence.net/2021/04/nirvana-drowned-in-the-sun-ai-song-google-software/ It actually sounds pretty good. Imagine if we were to throw psy trance at an AI and make it generate the albums of are dreams! What unreleased albums do you dream of? The most obvious are of course Hallucinogen 3 and the new Astral Projection album. What if we were to make it listen to two (or more) of our favorite acts and have it generate that collaboration we have always hoped for: Hallucinogen vs Process, and create that Beast album we all dreamt of Man With No Name vs Mindsphere Dimension 5 vs Mindsphere Ubar Tmar vs Orichalcum Quirk vs Rip van Hippy Have it analyze the music of Brainman and finally reveal who is behind that act! The possibilites are endless!!!
  9. Great share, thanks! The first minute is Erik Satie's Gnossienne No. 1.
  10. The new Shpongle EP, Carnival of Peculiarities, is the strongest Shpongle release since Are You Shpongled and Tales of the Inexpressible. Posford's previous album, Flux & contemplation, was a heavy and kind of moody introverted album (although it ended on a positive note), with some piano mixed up with the electronics. This release explores that toned-down and introverted sound further, but with the twist and turns you expect from Shpongle. The ambient intro track is a great and typical start for a Shpongle journey: The melody of title track is phenomenal: And the ending is pure Shpongle ecstasy, this time with influences from what sounds like Klezmer or balkan folk music, on second thought it might be machine elf folk music, none the less, it's another Shpongle masterpiece that mixes both piano and clarinet saxophone to great effect. The success of Tales of the Inexpressible saw Shpongle focus on a more extroverted sound. The CoP EP is more along the lines of Are You Shpongled, in the sense that it's more of an inner journey, and that should make you excited, because that sound needs to be further explored by Shpongle. Let's hope there's an upcoming album that continues to explore the themes in Carnival of Peculiarities. It could very well turn out to be the strongest Shpongle album in 20 years.
  11. Astral Projection - Solid Electronics - 1998 Astral Projection featuring Raja Ram - Dance is the Answer
  12. We need to talk more about Clementz! He's the best thing that has happened to neo-goa since Filteria and Mindsphere. Think of Shakta's Lepton Head, Transwave's Rezwalker, various Astral Projections tracks and some Etnica, now imagine it being executed with contemporary sound tech and you've got Clementz. I'm deeply impressed. Don't read my words, listen to his music:
  13. Trump is out, the Astral Projection album is still not released. They will probably release it soon, in time for the festival summer.
  14. Deep Jungle Walk has 17 987 039 streams at Spotify. It's all about playlist these days. If your track ends up on one of Spotify's curated playlists you will get a lot of streams.
  15. The Nystagmus album is very good! He has another act called Anahata. There's a very good psy-trance album called Conduktor and an equally good ambient/downtempo album called The Unmade Sound.
  16. I love topics like these, I finally get some use for my arkane goa trance knowledge. Here are some more excellent lesser known tracks:
  17. My "Sunshine Neo Goa"-playlist @ Spotify is all melodic neo goa tracks, enjoy!
  18. Mindsphere is the best melodic neo goa act out there. His best track is Floating in a Widescreen: Another great one is Gate of Sadness: His best album is Mental Triplex: Presence. Enjoy!
  19. The Happy Mistakes track is even better!
  20. We should all be super excited about this! First the Hallucinogen, Hujaboy, Strider track, then the Happy Mistakes EP by the Noodniks: And now Simon is announcing at Facebook that he's "tinkering with the techno again...": https://fb.watch/2lyARcZuKe/ I wouldn't be surprised if he makes enough new tracks for a Hallucinogen tour. It would be a very good way to earn back some of the money he most likely lost in 2020, because of all the cancelled gigs. The demand for a Hallucinogen tour is sky high! 2021 will be a great year!
  21. In 2019 I ended up at a hardstyle dancefloor and I had a great night! I went to a Swedish festival called Scandinavia Electronic Festival (the most uninspiring name ever). The music was mainly mainstream psytrance and hardstyle. GMS was one of the headliners. I was somewhat curious as to what they/he would sound like today, and it was pure crap. Really, really awful. It was mostly covers of various pop songs. So I decided to visit the hardstyle floor instead. I never returned to the psytrance floor. Don't listen to the music in advance, because it's pretty stupid, but at a party, it's lots of fun and very hedonistic. It all felt very new and fresh. Go there without prejudice and you might be happily surprised. I never ever would have thought that I would find hardstyle fun, but it was great. I will never listen to it at home, but I will certainly visit hardstyle dancefloors again.
  22. If you want something new, I strongly urge you to listen to Mandragora, his music is really psychedelic and versatile. Another recent discovery that sounds very fresh to my ears is Lunarave: Luigi Tozzi also deserves to be mentioned: Dj sets by Amelie Lens and Charlotte De Witte are always great, they're not new, but they always get me excited:
  23. I'm sure most of you have heard this excellent dj set by Simon Posford, otherwise you are in for a treat: Are there more psytrance dj sets by Posford out there? (Please, don't recommend Shpongle dj sets.)
  24. This is nothing less than amazing, the fundraiser reached it's goal well before its September 10 deadline! More than 2,500 people contributed over $10,000,000 in gifts ranging from $1 to $1,000,000. This means that a total of $30 000 000 has been raised. Here's the full press release.
  25. My youtube recommendations aren't all that exicting, I have my viewing history turned off, so I only get recommendations based on the channels I follow; none of which are related to psychedelics and science. Btw, if anyone of you know of such a channel, please reply! :-) Psychedelics will play an important role in saving (or rather rewriting) our civilization, and that's why it's so important to get solid scientific evidence for the long term benefits of psychedelics. If I remember correctly, Rick Doblin claims that if the FDA trials are successful, the FDA can't prevent MDMA from being classified as a medicine, and if it gets classified as a medicine it will no longer be classified as a schedule I drug. Science overrules politics. Psychedelics have been influencing western culture and science ever since they were introduced back in the 50's/60's. The most well known examples being the discovery of the DNA molecule and advances in computer science. I highly (no pun intended) recommend you to read Tom Wolfe's great book The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test. It tells the story of how the CIA wanted to know the effects of LSD and therefor gave it to volunteers at Stanford University. This CIA operation was known as MK Ultra. The CIA hadn't tried LSD themselves and were unaware of the life changing effects it can have on people. One of the volunteers was Ken Kesey. He was so amazed by the experience that he wrote his world famous book One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. He then used the money from the book to travel around the USA and preached the gospel of LSD. That tour kickstarted the hippie era, and the parties he threw are pretty much the precursor to rave parties. I'm sure most of you are familiar with this story. If you want to read a shorter version of this story, here's an article. But I encourage you to read the book, and spend lots of time looking at old footage at youtube and wikipedia, it makes an already great book even better.
