Angels trumpets indeed. Fucking cosmic fire, man. Filipe tapping into greater power here. Weird I didn't see it before and was more critical. This is fabulously amazing. I think I was too focused on large scale changes with his stuff. The differences are more subtle and require more focus from the brain to pick out the thematic differences. My brain was locked for a long fucking time.

Tracks with Table Tennis / ping-pong sound sample

Colin McNeil - Kenopsia (2021) This track uses either samples of a ping-pong ball being hit or some similar sounds. I’m not a musician—I’m just going by what I hear. - Yesterday

It somewhat reminded me of the track Dreamtech — Venus (2000). There’s something similar in the sound. The melody is different, of course. This one feels like a hybrid of classic trance and goa — super uplifting and kind of floating. Definitely one of my all-time favorites. -

I had never heard this version, it's a great one. -
A psychedelic excursion shaped by melody, memory, and mutation. This compilation dives into the deeper currents of Goa Trance, where oldschool sensibilities meet playful deviation. Twisting lines, evolving rhythms, and strong acid traces form a sound that feels both familiar and strangely displaced — always in motion, never boxed in. For those who like their trance melodic, rooted, and unapologetically out of the box. 1995, still holds up GREAT. Cenith X - Feel - Legend B remix To play loud -
I didn't meant to dismiss other gernes, of course, but Goa taps into something really particular part of our soul journey. I adore just about every electronic genre these days.

I miss good goa with real melodies and memorable moments. This comp. has some good such tracks. And I can find more in the period of the second wave, the first decade or so of goa's revival. But not anymore. I thought we were on a good trajectory in the mid '10s, but good, memorable, melodic tracks became more and more sparse; melodic formulaic mediocrity in the last decade. As for the more edgy, dark, or aggressive sound, I don't think there have been many hits. On the whole, a mostly forgettable collective effort in the last decade. More artists and more variety seemingly, but lack of inspiration. As I see it, goa trance had a revival and a fresh outlook in late '00s - early '10s that is worth checking out. Alas, it then hit the rocks, and most of current output will sink in the future oblivion...

This similarity of melodies has already been discussed on the forum before, but back then the track Another World by SFX was overlooked. I think (though I’m not 100% sure) that SFX might actually have been the first to use this melody. Quantum Fantay - Kukuriku Part 1 & 2 (2010) This isn’t exactly metal, more like rock. Goa rock! It somewhat reminds me of Ozric Tentacles. I highly recommend it!

It has this raw and underground feeling. Very good album, especially the first half I'd say. Generally this darker, sinister vibe is not what I seek to listen most of the times, but if you are in the mood for some honest, raw psychedelia that stays melodic and within the Goa substyle, you'll hardly find anything better. Last time I listened White Dwarf & Monkshroom were the winners.
