Goasana Bandcamp Release info: Mystic Sound Records presents a new mini-album of one of the label founders, Maiia303 – “Goasana”. Maiia303 is a side project of Alla Vagner, the author of the chillout project Maiia. Her project Maiia303 is inspired by legendary Man With No Name and timeless psychedelia of the global electronic music that was expanding in the 90s, and she tried to create the music clearly for the dancefloor with today’s production standards. This music is an unexpected mix of seemingly different styles of music, from Breakbeat to old school Acid House, from already classic Goa Trance to atmospheric Psy Progressive. 3 tracks of “Goasana” are cooked in a trippy psychedelic style – 2 tracks are 120 bpm Goachill and the 3rd one, ‘Goasana’, is 145 bpm melodic Goa-trance. Powerful beats, rich basslines, bright melodies and, of course, the sounds of the legendary TB303 carry away on an exciting journey. There is not a single second within this marvel I do not enjoy. From the first intro in "The Professor," I knew this album was going to be ridiculously entertaining. Escape Into uses a fresh and interesting recording of a man taking a sit at his piano to begin crafting the visions inside his head. The recording sounds up close and real, and then it uses the tune from the white and black instrument to start off the track. I have heard many attempt this style in the past, but it is rare to hear it done so well. The three dimensional sound is deep and full, taking me into the experience destined. This is where I simply can not stop listening. Every second, a new and interesting idea is born from seemingly nothing. It just pops up, grabs a hold of my body, and shakes me up like never before. This is what we like to call "dancing". I haven't heard a style this diverse in a very long time. From the "get him a glass of water" voice samples from "H.N.I," to the quirky introduction followed by a full-on sub bass with zips and zaps in "The Ziggurat Of Wondrous Wonder". Nostalgic Goa drum lines, Progressive euphoric trance melodies, Classical influences, Full-On Morning and Twilight raging dance patterns, and entirely new concepts are sewn together to build a totally game-changing twist of wonderful perfection. The mood is sweetly amusing. Is this my world as a child? Is it what I feel in my dreams? Is this a recording of a distant glowing planet flying at the speed of light through space? Whatever the case, it is dramatic sound in its finest form. The outro makes me tear up, using downtempo brilliance expected only from the masterminds of the trance community. Yet, in the midst of a free online culture, I find a particular gem in a field of treasure. It is so small, yet its twinkle shines through the darkness to bring a bright and lovely shine into my life. I feel the urge to get up and dance through the night like there is no tomorrow. I am getting lost in a soundscape of harmony with this album. I do not know what else to say, other than I will definitely keep this close to my favorites until the day I die. Download this album immediately, it will well be worth it. Take the normal drama out of your life and inject this into your veins. I've had the pleasure of seeing him and Moon in Melbourne a few years ago, my friends still weren't sold on psy trance, I assured them Fabio & Moon would change their mind. Of course Tsotsi was right. Unlike some prog out there which is made to sound like prog, Fabio uses the same instruments and sounds to make tracks to set the dance floor alight. A dj could play each of these tracks without having to touch the decks once. each act of the song changes quickly enough that you never get bored of a repetitive 128 bar 'dugga dugga'. The breaks come quickly and the builds are just perfect. The album has an atmospheric darkness to it that like everything else in each of the tracks, makes it perfect for a club dance floor. As I said I've seen him perform live and I can tell you that the set was 100% fun from start to finish. Therapy is no different, with the albums title track 'therapy' being my favourite (Beatports too for a short while) 'be with you' 'I see the future' and 'out of control' 'Travelling Lights' coming up close behind. If you like clubs, if even a little bit of you likes prog, or if you like music that sounds like its been spun by a top dj, this album might tickle some part of you. Probably the album cover and song title 'Fresh & Tropical'. It was a sunny hot day in Melbourne, I was drinking a mango smoothie weighing up the pro's and cons of adding bacardi (not a lot of cons really), it was hot and I couldn't think of any sunny tracks to play from my collection. Along came this little number. It's not often that a prog album will have a range of styles, bpm's and rhythm that can keep me listening to it. Bits and bobs here and there maybe. Saurus's first release has got us sorted, there is even a little progressive Hitech in there for those of you that absolutely must know what that sounds like. While i'm not gonna mark this with the Tsotsi boi seal of originality, Saurus has a sense of playfulness that comes out in his tracks, The Mr.Hyde track is pretty neat as well as Ragga Bass. Luckily the aforementioned Hitech track is only 4 minutes long. Long enough in my opinion. If you don't mind a little prog and you like dancing by yourself on your courtyard throwing back iced waters, this then is for you.
