  1. Yeah I got the album last year after hearing them play live at glade. Wonderful stuff, highly recommended (Fantastic live too!)
  2. I completely agree tatsu, listening progressive while tripping really is something else (especially when live). It's just such great music to completely get lost in and float away to... Full on (unless its reeeally good a la eat static or koxbox) has a tendency to annoy me when on psychedelics, especially with the over use of the clicky kick drum. My best musical experiences whilst tripping are as follows: Live: Atmos: he did a retro set at universo paralello last year, playing all of his pre 2nd brigade stuff and it was absolutely unbelievable. So unbelieveably DEEP. One of the very best sets I've heard. (He also played another set consisting of mainly new material and I wasn't nearly as impressed unfortunately ) Perfect Stranger: Absolutely mindblowing live. His music is so interesting to listen to on a trip, there are so many different sounds to hone in on, and the music is constantly changing and evolving with every second that goes by, with so many great and often unexpected twists and turns in it that just make your jaw drop. He has a great way of building up a song to what feels like an explosive climax before sneakily dropping in a deep, nasty bassline that sends shivers down your spine. At the peak of his career atm IMO, catch him whilst he's hot. Ace Ventura: The break in The Light practically destroyed me when I heard it live. So emotional and he does it live so well. Worth seeing live just for this one song (even if the rest of his set is great too) The Orb live: A non psy act that completely blew me away when I saw them live at glade on acid this year. Took me on one of my best musical journeys to date. Little fluffy clouds was soooo beautiful Home listening: William Orbit's O give and Orbital's Belfast will always hold a special place in my heart as they were the first songs I had the pleasure of hearing when I had my first trip. Still send shivers down my spine to this day. BT's This Binary Universe and particularly the Good morning kaia are also very special for me. We listened to this album nearly all the way through when on mushrooms in my room. Dawn was just starting to emerge as good morning kaia came on and as the song crescendoed as did the rays of light coming into my room. My other two tripping companions are Trentemoller's The Last Resort and Solar Fields Earthshine (and particularly air song, my all time favourite tripping tune), both of which take on spectucar new dimensions when listened to under the influence. Human Blue: Electric Roundabout album and Atom song were also amazing to listen. The music made me feel like I was the protagonist from the film the fountain flying through space when I closed my eyes and let it take me away. Oh and Shpongle of course
  3. My CD collection is in a bit of a mess these days. It's a fair size (around 300), and it all used to be in a special order known only to me (if someone gave the name of a cd in my collection i could tell them where it was without having to look at the collection, but im guessing im not the only one here who can do that ) but we moved house about 3 years ago and i wasn't in the country when we moved so the person who moved all my cds jumbled them all up and theyve been a mess ever since. Well, until a few days ago when i finally decided that it was time to put some order back into it, it's a work in progress atm though, only about 75% done, but i'll be there soon
  4. Forgot to comment on this one, but fear not tis all good stuff My favourite of your tekktrance mixes that i've got so far (ive only got 4 and 3 though!)! Lookin forward to the next one And in response to the len faki discussion, i thoroughly agree: he's awesome. Went on a beatport spree of a load of his tracks the other week, my favourite is his do us part remix at the moment. fantastic!
  5. ha, yeah a bunch of my friends are also coming to only the afterparty now that they cudnt get tickets. worth the trip from another country IMO
  6. ah shit, you not manage to get one in time?
  7. OMFG!!! X-Dream, Green Nuns and Shpongle live all in one night??!!!! This is going to be the best night EVARGH!!! Getting my tickets now :posford: Oh and the shpongle concert has now sold out so hope everyone's got their tickets!!
  8. If you want dreaminess then go for Human Blue's latest Blue Basket Buffet. It also has some madness near the end of the album. You will def like if you enjoy earthshine, especially the first 3 tracks which are out of this world. Still need to get round to writing a review of this album. Tis a great one Also, check haltya's latest if you want some more, funk ass crazyness
  9. Antix- Twin coast discovery is a definate, as is Perfect Stranger's Learning=Change
  10. Can't wait for mr Stranger's new one. His new material that he was pumping out at glade last weekend was easily the best i've heard from him so far!! Ace ventura's new one should be great too
  11. Saw these guys first live set at glade this weekend, absolutely epic. Sounded like a breakbeat cross between GNOTR and hardfloor; screaming 303s galore. Those who are going to boom should def check em out, well worth it. (and dont worry they didnt use any vocals in their live set )
  12. seen em 3 times now over the past 2 or so years and yeah they do absolutely still ROCK!! :posford: I didn't see transwave, but the dubpistols were more than a worthy replacement. The orb were aboslutely AMAZING, one of the best acts I have ever seen live, not what i was expecting at all and completely blew me away. Pitch black were also awesome, as were far too loud. Perfect stranger played a new set of nearly completely new material (i have just about all of his music that he has thus far released and only recognised 2 or 3 tracks) and it was all absolutely stunning, the best he has written yet. Other great ones were red snapper, ulrich schnauss, jeff mills and current value. All in all a great festie, apart from a severe cock up on the friday night with the sound levels
  13. yay, loved the last one so look forward to hearing this one too. Tis downloading now and will accompany me on the long walk to my friends house in a minute :posford:
  14. I was listening to some of their tracks on myspace and they sound wicked, but then again you can't really go wrong with haltya and kiwa together. definately gonna pick it up as soon as ive got the cash Their other side project highpersonic whomen is also very cool and worth checking out. :clapping: And kiwa's remix of live and let die on their myspace is absolutely great!! Anyone know where this was released?
  15. damn its so depressing when a group as good as transwave sinks to that level...
  16. yeah thats exactly what im thinking at the moment just wish transwave would play a goa set as there's 0 goa acts playing at glade this year
  17. So... transwave are playing live at glade fest this year. I am at a dilemma as to whether I should see them or not as they are clashing with the dub pistols who i also want to see... So has anyone seen them perform live lately? How good are they? I absolutely LOVE their old goa stuff tracks and if they did a set with lots of them in then they would win hands down over the dub pistols, however I've heard that their latest music has gone down the generic, rather boring full-on route and if they play a set of just this then i think id rather catch the dub pistols. So what can i expect? Some really hard decisions to make this year at the glade festie: Antix/Fiord are playing at the same time as the orb; pitch black and james holden are clashing (my 4 top acts to see this year, i almost feel cheated out of my ticket ) as are ace ventura and red snapper, and dubfire, logic bomb, autechre and far too loud are also all playing at the same time (!!!! ). So if anyone on here has seen any of the above acts here lately too and can recommend which ones I should (or should not) choose that would also be greatly appreciated
  18. I absolutely love the in your face, punkish sounding songs on this album (access, up in smoke, fire escape (!!!), hertz so good and timebomb), they are all fantastic, with a nice original sound and will absolutely destroy any dancefloor they get played on. Access also has a nice vibe to it. Unfortunately, for me, the rest of the album doesn't even come close to matching up to these tracks, so it's only gets a 7/10 for me. But still worth buying for the above mentioned tracks IMO
  19. man, has it been 6 months already since the tickets went on sale?! How time flies
  20. Pitch Black!!! Check out their myspace for some tunes and also moshcam for a complete live recording on one of their sets. Also, (sorry I'm gonna kind of hi jack your thread here ) I've really been digging the more upbeat dub stuff from the likes of pitch black and red seal. Most of the dub i have in my collection is aimed towards the chill out, which i also like, but I'd really like to find some more dubby stuff that has enough energy to make you want to DANCE (and preferably with a psychedelic edge to it to). The best example of this I have found so far is pitch black's big trouble upstairs/house plus (can be seen/heard on the moshcam vid), where you get a sort of dubby-trance hybrid. So any recommendations along these lines would be greatly appreciated
  21. STILL no update on this? I thought moni was back now...
  22. The other morning i was at an awesome afterhours place, dancing in the morning sunshine next to a river. had an absolutely amazing time. anyway, the dj played one tune that i remember in particular and absolutely loved. I finally managed to find it. brings back so many good memories listening to this now. fantastic tune (if you like your tech house )
  23. meh, what a fucking disaster that party was. apparently they didn't pay any of the intl artists so practically all of them refused to play. we only had about 5 in total i think, of which 100% isis was the best. I still had a good night, the argentinian djs held their own and played looooaads of classics (cafe del mar, age of love, liquid child etc etc). I have one song stuck in my head from the party which i swear I know but i can't for the life of me put a name on it. Can anyone help me here. It's got a vocal sample that says something like 'bass to bass (or breaks?) london!' and then a wicked acid riff cuts in. I swear i have it in my music collection somewhere...
  24. yeah fuck it, im gonna go its only £15 so not really that much of a dent in my pocket. plus wiith a line up of that size im sure ill be able to wonder round to the different rooms and find something i like if i find the music im currently listening to reach for stars style trance.
