Do you guys even believe in evolution?
astralprojection replied to Tetrasect's topic in General Psytrance
Evolution can also go backwards. The waves was strong around the khetzal and filteria times, and lets not forget the global sect times, artifact303, cosmic dimension, and more. But then there's deevolution. Things got worse and not better. Artifact303 - feelings in 2008 was the peak, then Mindsphere (his first album of his trilogy) and filteria daze was the highpoint. For global sect this was space of power. After that, it started going down. Sound quality even affected artifact303 on his released on GS, and, even how hard it is to say, even filteria at suntrip with his latest album. Only matter of time til you also start hearing whatever I'm hearing, and the sound quality that has dissipated over time. It's a shame and I feel I'm done with neo goa, since every release these days sounds plastic fantastic software tonality. I don't care. I'm just sad. There's goa and psytrance from the late 90s and early 00s that actually sounds better sound quality wise than some of the latest releases, sadly even artifact303 and filteria has been affected. I thought all you could go were up, from Daze and Back to space. But, it seems you could go down from there.. And that will always break my heart don't care what you say. So I'm done I'm not waiting on anything anymore and I don't care about evolution, cause its been nothing but deevolution since daze and back to space. Goa died with these albums. Your plastic high-passed productions you currently make doesn't even count, sounds like shit. I'd forever take hallucinogen, astral, filteria up until daze, artifact303 up until its suntrip release, and every other old school artist like x dream and mwnn, over any of the plastic shit being released these days. Just listen to filteria filternaut and if you can't hear the software tone then you're completely hopeless and couldn't tell a turd from a flower. Evolution? Hell no. It stopped at early to mid 2010s Artifact303 - feelings still is the king of neo goa, sharing spot with khetzals first album and filteria - daze, artifact303 - back to space After that, no evolution -
Astral Projection new album
astralprojection replied to GOA Collection SOLD's topic in General Psytrance
Yesssss. That's what I've been missing. More more moreeeeee Although it's a rather simple track and the main melody gets a bit tiresome after a while but idc, new astral music in a time like this feels like a blessing. Does this mean the album is just 10 years away now??? -
Avatar is one of my all time favorite movies.. Ive probably seen it 6 times by now. It just takes me to another dimension, and another time. Cant wait for the sequel, the first movie ended with the biggest cliffhanger in history

What music are you listening to right now?

progressive when the 303 gets it all the way there, and the KnB just hits right ... -
I realise Im the "odd one out" with this observation. Well, honestly the releases hasnt been going up in quality, lets just say that instead of saying its been going down. Im not sure what it is because I have 0 insight in behind the scenes both mixing and mastering, so I wont even try to go there. I can only guess on my own part, to what it might or might not be. In some cases its probably the artist and not even anything to do with post.. In this case, it seems filteria himself is at "fault" for what Im hearing, since you say it was mixed that many times, and Tim Schuldt is a great ME. Maybe he (Filteria) just has a different sonic idea this time, that I subjectively happen to find "worse" than before, and I can buy that. But still it doesnt remove from the fact that I am disappointed.. and find it hard to appreciate this album But I will survive, its not the end of the world. edit: but I am a bit perplexed as to how I seem to be the only one hearing the difference (so far). Time will tell I suppose

This new album sounds strangely highpassed and even phasey on a few tracks. I cant put my finger on it specifically, but there is something off with the sound for sure, and a simple comparison confirms it.. heres a short clip with Filternaut first, then Perpetually delayed voayge. Then its Crimefighter frog, and Wormhole. all downloaded from youtube @ 128kbit btw, so to be equal as far as encoding goes. I randomly picked 2 older tracks i like and 2 new tracks from the album https://voca.ro/14RuibMvTm9h I didnt make this post to shit on filteria, but theres something wrong here, and you can just compare for yourselves to hear it. But noone is talking about it. Honestly thats not my only concern with this album, it also sounds phasey in some tracks, aswell as the highs sounding way too software for some reason. (plasticy, non-clean, maybe even aliasing) Its like a downgrade all around since his previous album. Im not speaking about the music btw, Ive not really listened to the music yet, since all i can hear is the downgrade in quality and it boggles my mind. I thought filteria was immune to this effect that Ive been seing on suntrip (and also other labels tbh) the last few years. The sound has just become worse and worse over time. But obviously Filteria wouldnt succumb to that? Surely there is some quality control here? Filteria has the whole Neo Goa scene on his back, his music has been the Standard Bearer for so long. This album surely is not up there as far as sound goes. Music, who knows, if you cant enjoy the sound, youll never listen to it properly.. so the music is in a way lost here. And I dont care what you say, how wrong i am, etc, I cannot unhear what i hear. And thats coming from a filteria fanboy.

Seems like "crazy melodies with tons of energy" filteria is back for good or worse, ofc ^^ I like the more "calmed down and retrospective with intense melody filteria", rather than "dancefloor mayhem filteria". Which I suppose could be one and the same for now it seems Made out of Trance is my favorite. Gonna be something special hearing it all in CD quality later. Have certainly been waiting a looong time for this album! super excited. bring those Square basses back!

one of the finest from that year (2001) i used this track (desert incident @53:09) as a sound quality reference for a long time. that kick is just something. but the first track with astrix is the best one of the album. -

Moonshine and Spores from Space is enough reason to come back to this album every now and again. Truly masterpieces. Completely unique sound and such musical perfection - i rank those tracks as highly as i would ap, simon, x-dream or pretty much any other of the very greats. And what a wonderful chap mr Billy is, aswell. album 8.9/10, those two songs 10/10+

Does anybody else miss melodic full-on?
astralprojection replied to recursion loop's topic in General Psytrance
These basslines are all similar in alot of ways, not just from 1 artist to another but in the entirety of current mainstream psytrance. Everything must be so damn clicky. Even the kick can't just be a kick no more it has to be layerd with some kind of hihat or even snare. And since the production is so surgical, it feels like all those tracks sound the same to me, I've complained about this before. Everything has become so digitally perfect, there's literally nowhere else to go with this "exact" sounds scape where everything has its exact place in the frequency, as well as perfect phase cohesion between kicks, snares, bass, leads. It's just become to overly surgical and lifeless to my taste. I don't blame the artists - technically what they are achieving is very impressive, but more often then not the soul and character of the music fades away and it can be virtually impossible to tell the difference between many current pay artists. Some of their tracks could easily have been someone else's and vice versa. Sure I'm damn near 40 it's no wonder my ears "miss" the more organic and unique sound each artist used to have - imperfections alike. Cosma, silicon sound, early astrix, protoculture, sonic species, ticon even son kite could all be easily told apart. But the current generation I'm not sure what the Heck is going on with the sound, only that it's going backwards.... When technically I guess its going forward but to what cost?? I just feel the music suffers alot with the see "pixel perfect" mixes that makes it hard to distinguish one artist from another.. -
"contenst" Strange thing to spell an artwork wrong. edit: i mean its a major label, isnt it wierd to have the artwork spelled wrong? sorry for the offtopic just thought that was a bit funny

i think i made a topic about this some years ago but its time for a reboot ^this sounds like 64kbit mp3 but the music is absolutely incredible, give it a chance; 1:51 and onwards - just insanity thats just three of the tracks he made, but it was never released and i think its justified someone like Draeke but for trance, let this guy get his music across in high def, and high quality. its such amazing music, and if i die today; then all i want left is for this guy to have his album be released. well that and the re-remix of spiritual healing. its the best trance ive ever heard in my life. and it only exists in this mp3 <128kb format. someone please contact him and make this happen. please i mean Suntrip did it for Crossing Mind. Draeke made it happen for the lost pleiadian dats. So theres someone out there who should do it for Solarforce. This trance right here is to me better than any other trance including goa trance, that exists today. Im sure if someone comes with the right money/carrot - its game over.

havent watched movies in a looong time, but very recently i decided i wanna watch the John Wick and Equaliser series. Pretty decent but the sequels were so-so. I think i liked the equaliser sequels more than the John Wick ones- that whole "over the table, under the table" thing kinda got a bit wierd towards the sequels there, but Denzel is always a pleasure to watch , him destroying his opponents. I feel keanu is similarly pleasant but yeah they got a bit wierd.. The first john wick however is a really cool movie. But i liked all three equaliser movies kinda the same i think. Any other really good revenge style movies like that? speaking of john wick 1 this is a really cool clip, with music from perturbator. awesome synthwave stuff pictured with the mayhem of john wick; spoofing the video game Hotline Miami which i had never heard of or played - but it just Works. song starts 00:53

One of the most faithful remixes. Shitty mp3 quality just makes it better in this case. -
sample from ozaka oz - real nitemare
astralprojection replied to astralprojection's topic in Lost Tracks
just wanted to share; its from the movie: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108324/ https://www.aeap.se/tmp/tears.wav what is really cool is the sample says "tears of those who loved THEM". but the song says "tears of those who loved ME" . so thats a bit of cool sample work there -
just thought "they are a planet" didnt make much sense, but yeah i do hear the same as you. Damn wonder what the movie could be. It took me about 15 years to find the sampel for "ozaka oz - real nightmare" and i hope this isnt one of those scenarios :p

from what i can hear she says something along the lines of "they're memories. and the memories arent even mine". "there/they're a planet that i never walked on. and war/words such cruelty i cant concieve." that sentence makes very little sense so its either chopped up or my ears needs a checkup. or both 05:22
