  1. Bought this CD around 2005:
  2. This reminds me, long ago, I was browsing the Metal category in a 2nd hand CD shop in Essen (I lived there for a while) I found a CD named "Cassandras Nightmare", it was 6 or 7 Euro, I remembered I had some MP3 from an artist with the same name which I quite liked, but that was (as most of you know) some kind of dark goa. Bought CD, researched and turned out that there was a Death Metal Band "Xenomorph" too. I like Deathmetal but the electronic one is better than the metal one in this case
  3. Hi, I believe Discogs does not list / allows entries as "release" which are only streaming based, or? They do allow download releases to be listed however. This is not so bad with country modifier I think. However there is a danger a new artist will be created at Discogs for Mohn? That would then lead again to confusion I mean your name is Mohn and Discogs gives Mohn (3) name (when 2 other Mohns already exist), but it may show up then as Mohn NL (2) if another Mohn in NL already exists And your releases now are on 2 different names... What about eg. Spotify ? I asked this above already and researched a bit and it seems they will just put your stuff together with an existing artist there if you have the same name. I am not on Spotify / Beatport etc. My last "release" on a d/l compilation was in 2013. From what I have read one must jump through some "hoops" to get this situation sorted out. Can it be prevented before you send music to Spotify/Apple music etc.? I believe only when your name differs at least a bit from an artist already existing there. Does anyone liked my idea above adding something to your name ? If not, what could be done ? Edit, or is just do not care the best idea ? I mean the nets are so overflown with music anyway..
  4. Wonder if Element belongs to the category, they had a hit - "The Crow". I have the "Transform" album and saw them live at some party in the woods. They used a guitar but not rockish sounding more like a pad layer. Opening track of album: Will listen later to some of the other tracks posted Edit, here a track from 2nd album, bit irritating vocal imho
  5. A Russian wanted to buy 2 CDs from me..this was the 1st time since 2 years or so I checked the cost to send outside of the EU....and it seems it basically costs 3x as much now. Luckily we found someone in Germany to send the CDs who visits the Russina guy I guess
  6. Short notice, I do not think that there is an evil intent (like "hijacking" or "stealing"). Just there are so many many more artists than even 10 years ago. One can pile up some samples or download a "beat" and rap over it - VOILA you are now an artist and you wanna share you super music with the world. But you need a name right? Some are too lazy I guess to research if the name they like is already existing.. This is easy, just type in artist name + music or band in the search engine. My artist name was also "hijacked" by an US based synthpop duo in 2017 or so. Either did not look up if the name already exists or they thought I am gone, dead or quit music because in fact since 2013 I did not "release" anything. But now in 2020 I restarted music and I am now sorted 2nd with the name at last.fm or Discogs. Even if I was the first with the name. Trouble is now when I release new music it will be lumped together on some sites like Spotify etc. I even got a remix credit on Discogs which the others did - not me. Any tipps ? The only solution I came up with is adding something to my name like "the 1st" or "the original"
  7. Of course the artists are in the info, I do not claim others music for my channels (like I noticed some trend people uploading mixes and covers etc. without naming the original creators on YT often times monetized). But I also said to not look the info up Btw. "hitech" also reminds me of drum n´bass and "gabber" which I also dislike, I have not a single song of these styles
  8. Just a short post, as no one wanted to guess artists in my mix here are they: Sun Control Species, Liquid Soul and Nasser in that order... Edit post TOO short, so some more musings. Even if I like darker music (also from metal) I have severe problems liking the new "darkpsy" stuff, seems too fast and random and nervous. Perhaps better for younger people But worse I found the "Psycore/Hi-Tech" subgenre (listened to examples from the 2 guides)..note however I like older "darkgoa" like Dark Soho some Xenomorph etc. Seems Vibrasphere is a band most like somehow.. FreQ I also liked (not sure if it aged so well) and Atmos (604 album is interesting - and yes I do not mind much the techno influences if done right!)
  9. I had a Spears Megamix - ok only as MP3... but her music did not age so well for me. Also Womanizer is from 2008. Here a 2011 title which sounds pretty decent - don´t know if she has more newer stuff, seems to have disappeared Also found right now, some German language stuff, seems decent too. 2015 I heard also a "hiphop (grime?)" song from her, which reminded me on M.I.A. (not a bad thing I guess) 2020: Learned that Paradise Lost last album was in top10 in Ger and Austria for quite a while, does not make it pop I guess. But here a song from the album "Obsidian". Bit too soft for me lol
  10. I found Lily Allen a while ago this song (+video - note the cool drummer) seems good enough, that I wonder if it is a cover version from some 70ties song?? From 2009 so outside your age range 2013: 2017, although a bit too "quiet" for my taste one must admit good song:
  11. Guess you only want NEW popsongs from 2019-2020 or so ? Cause if we include older periods (70s/80s/90s) there would be way too much to post here...
  12. So are you a collector of some kind (perhaps only some artists)... just wondering why one would buy any newer IM releases. Perhaps you liked the albums before ? I could not find much at all to like, there were some good ideas and teh track starts ok, then gets ruined by some annoying element(s). For me this sounds like a kind of childrens music, and do not get me wrong there is nice children music out there (if IM belongs to it is debatable) Another one, always them high pitched annoying sounds and those vox arg
  13. Just a short note, I doubt if the lyrics were in Russian or Japanese I would like it more, also there is simmilar stuff in English It is kind of ironic when (some) people called out for more German lyrics (when the charts were dominated by English titles) and then THIS comes out. Ok, we also had Schlager or Rammstein in the Charts. In the 80ties lots of NDW (New German Wave) Let me listen to the examples you guys provided later.. @RTPWhow this is really bad, the guy sounds like he is in some kind of half asleep state and is eating or chewing gum while trying to sing/babble and/or on drugs. The super simple music does not help too of course..
  14. @GhostOnAcid EDIT, I do not want to discuss this, I just stated my opinion as the OP asked for. So I deleted my longer reply. = Everyone can eat what he wants, as long you do not push it on others agressively (or using shaming etc. tactics)
  15. @RTP The mix I posted is music I can relax with and they are relativly cheese free (the choppedd/filtered female choir in the 2nd track is already a bit over the line for me lol). Yesterday I googled the first 2 artists and found that it seems the tracks I chose are already in the upper 3rd for my taste and was a bit dissapointed by the other output what I heard on YT (tastes differ of course). Others relax with drone or ambient - but most beatless stuff bores me and not relaxes me More often then not, I also gravitate to darker/harder sounds then this however. Is Panzer Productionz still active ? Last post 4 years ago. The 3 you posted I think are a bit too minimal for my taste, the 2nd one also sounds like stuff one would often get on the "B-side" of samplers or better the 2nd CD in case of DCDs. I must have quite a bit such tracks on CDs and re-checked your artists examples, Noma, 12 Moons & M.O.S. belong among them. Must be compilations from around 2000-2005 or so. I like the 3rd track the most. Have trouble with the length of tracks and what is going in them. "Das trägt nicht über 9 Minuten". So how does this style sound today 1-2 examples? Edit, I believe on this one (1997) are also simmilar tracks on the CD2 (must be the beginning of prog I guess) https://www.discogs.com/de/Various-The-History-Of-Trance-Part-3-The-Psychedelic-Movement/release/28455
  16. I know this topic is super sensible and I was myself sensible when someone told me veganism is not good... I became a vegertarian and later even went in the vegan direction also.. went "not so good" to say it mildly(in the first 2 or so years yeahh, but do this better only 3-4 months!) - but I do not want to tell my horror life story re. to this. Here 2 ladies, listen to them: Of course be aware, drinking too much milk, eating too much meat, eggs and cheap fats is also wrong. Find a balance, once a week meat is better than no meat and even better if not industrial foods, but just watch the vids.
  17. German Top10, what is the appeal of this "music" and how does your countries Top10 sound? Over half of the Charts now has such titles, I cannot understand, I mean when Lady Gaga etc. was in the Charts this was literally gold compared to this...the vocals are terrible, there is no good melody, the beats are only soso the lyrics stupid...... Check this early Gaga performance compared: This is no complaint thread about popular music at all, as in the past mostly I could find some reasons why the masses would like the Top10 hit in question ..but not here anymore
  18. Re. "progressive Psytrance"... here a mix from 3 artists, I wonder if it hits the genre or wrong one? Not sure but such music I adored 10 yrs ago or so (yes I still like it, but it has worn off): I can write the artists name if interested or someone knows them already? If you want to guess - do not read description:
  19. Guess not, cause this location is closed... but I just googled and it seems in fact they re-opened but now are closed again this time "Corinna" is the reason.. But... from what I gather at this site they have moved away from Goa/Psy anyway "Das Frühjahrs-Programm stehe fest. Rock, Punk-Pop, Elektro-Punk, neuer Pop und Motiv-Partys und zwischendurch auch die “Brot und Butter” Techno-Veranstaltungen." https://www.schiebener.net/wordpress/die-grube-siedlinghausen-weg-vom-techno-image-hin-zu-musik-und-kultur/ But at least they have the new years goa/psy parties still: https://www.goabase.net/party/silvester-knallts-die-grube-201920/105576
  20. @Padmapani Guess these ES1/ES2 basses are good enough for me, I process them of course a bit... also my system is not the newest so I am glad to have the low CPU/RAM consumption of these built-in Synths. Well I just realized that my music might be too far away from true Psytrance anyway, so I better post not here in the thread anymore
  21. Psst... don´t tell that you can make decent basses with such an old "built in cheap softsynth"....let it be our Logic secret ... I use both 1+2 in fact cause I found they do the job good enough so I do not need any "bigger" VST for it..(or expensive analogue gear YES it will be better but is it worth the cost) Btw. I found this here which includes a "linear phase EQ" too and they say it is free and can be used in other DAWs: https://www.reaper.fm/reaplugs/ And this, cost 29,- https://photosounder.com/splineeq/ Btw. What is the name of the Logic build in linear EQ?
  22. Never mind, I found an answer here: https://www.logicprohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26603 I always thought that a CUT in Logic is "harsher" sounding... here an answer from above thread: "You shouldn't EQ just so there's "less chance" of things muddying the mix. EQ filters shift the signal phase and add artifacts, even to the audio band you're not directly affecting with the EQ. The steeper the slopes and bigger the cuts or gains and the worse it gets. You get a few of these stacked up in the mix and it starts to become very audible." (by "Fader8")
  23. Ghost producers ?? Interesting what exists today in the nets... but this was already common in the 80ties have pretty faces and dancers that could not sing stand in as the artist, eg. Milli Vanilla I sorted the most expensive tracks 500-1000€ and listened to 4 of them I can hear the production is not bad, but if the style suits one is another question. But be careful if you wanna listen it is quite loud (guess they do not normalize them down as streaming sites and YT does) - I do not find much goa/psy there however https://edmwarriors.com/tracks/sales?productType=track&genre&price=500&price=1000&daw&element&instrument&tone&bpm=0&bpm=200&sold=true&page=1&onlySales=true I can see the value of eg. fiverr when you need a vocal or guitar for your track, but buying COMPLETE songs and saying they are your own is a bit strange tbh.
  24. Anyone knows "Die Grube" ? Was in the Sauerlandish woods? I remember we went there 3-4 times, it was mostly Goa what they played and the chill area was a chill area not a techno area. Was surprised to read Die Grube is even included in the German Wiki for Psy - must be closed now for some years. Then the last time we went there, we were dissapointed what they played...sounded more like techno to our (goa) ears. I asked a girl she said, "this is progressive psytrance", did not like it much at first. Later the sound grew on me and I even found some faves like Atmos, Vibrasphere. I need to remember other names I like from the progressive departement. But the chill was still chill.. the prog stuff was played on main floor. From what I read on Wiki being included in ASOT, would be quite a boost....
  25. There may be saturation devices with which to select a certain frequency range to saturate - I have only ones that saturate everything. The same is true for Exciters (which I guess are some kind of saturation too?) Btw. I sometimes just use the "channel strip" low or high cuts as it is very fast to use.. I guess this may be a bit harsh to CUT instead of filtering? Opinions?
