Re. Atmos is this on CD where you heard the hiss, if it is online it can easily be caused by the conversion and leveling the streamers do. If yes, I say it is part of the track, in psy (or techno, indus) a "hissy" sound even if not intended can fit easy.

Googled Digital Performer and gosh from the looks of it, seems they took some "logical" hints. Seems not bad! " My old Logic should be able to do this at least with Audio files, for Midi I need to try. But it is more complicated not automatic. Great thanks, I already noted that slow 130 did not work for your midi..:) See post above... I do not know how to find the tempo in midi files Guess it was in the text document, too lol

@psytones: Your label is "Kali Earth" ? Someone posted a link to some tracks from this, was quite ok. Boris had also this project Paradise Connection IIRC. This was quite good, perhaps he should go a bit more in this direction again....

Quite good - I only know the Cassandras Nightmare CD which I bought second hand years ago, it was sorted in the metal section as there is a deathmetal band with the same name I like the typical gothrock guitar in one of the tracks (fits better than a hardrock one for sure). Some of his sounds reminds me on mine Guess I also listened to another album on YT but was not so thrilled, however 2-3 tracks in this set seem to be better again Edit, is "Sinister Contour" some kind of mix or cover ? I certainly remember this track but from another one...(or its just some overused arps lol)

This Dance2Trance was one of my faves in the 90ties or so, I also bought some of these compilations there was perhaps 1/3 or so listenable stuff most was cheese. There was a radio show I believe which played techno/trance stuff (I mean in the normal radio back in the days!) called "RPR" There I got some of the earlier ideas incl this track, I treasured the tape which had the radio show with this track quite a bit I remember still...and edit, it was a mix ca. 8mins from "Dance To Trance" not the short one you posted. -.otherwise it was U96 and Der General or Der weiße Hai for "rave-techno" or such stuff which was crossovered from "new beat" and even EBM and I was becomming a big EBM fan mid/end of the 90ties when someone lend me the sampler "This is ebm" . It went so far I sold 70-80% of my metal records, which is quite sad now, as some of them were double albums with somewhat limited edition, perhaps Ride The Lighning and Master OP have some collectors value these days... Funny thing is I listened to some new (also dark) techno and find these older tracks still superior LOL

Yeah eg. 2 thingies for 130 would be enough (if you have the time), but keep the 138 "on reserve" for a possible faster mix later. If other people come in too perhaps, it could be enough for 2 tracks actually (130+138): EDIT, YUP 130 is too slow I noted now...! Also it is not "oldschool goa" - Vera´s "acid line" and some sound effects however should be compatible to the genre. As a noob in genres I would say some crossover Techno-Psy..

Ok. Votings so far (will make an average of all votes) 130, MM 138, RL I just keep the 130 for now and post a snippet some day. One can make a mix with the later agreed on BPM if more votes. Or if someone has a cool sample idea... I guess the drugs and consqiousness related samples are quite boring/stylistic these days, so perhaps come up with something different but still fitting the genre(s)?? And not to well known and not "stolen" from other songs. @recursion loop: Can you provide your melody at 130 for now - only if you think it works at that tempo or must be faster - like you wish Or whatever you like to include. For others the same of course...remember only if you have fun with it, should not be seen as "work"

Prog/F.O. is part of the psynews world too. There is no law that it needs to be goa or "darkpsy" whatever. Until the admins say there is a law I am not very organized like you tbh. I do not know at the beginning at all how a track would sound. But I also have no genre - guess there are 5-6 genres in which my tracks could count..

I used Veracohrs file but all drums/percs are in the same track (in his file), if I get them to 3 seperate ones, I use it as it is - with some changes. Bass I use his one and also made another one with 1 of the lines being modulated/filtered the other being the more static one.. man Goa/Psy music for sure can be better made with hardware, just edit on the fly and record. I find it more difficult with software to get "moving/living" sounds...I have 2 HW synths but not connected/stored away.. Your example is good enough I guess, why not make it longer and use it as PSYNEWS EP track. Ofc the problem is time, right? PEOPLE can now vote on BPM like I said above, but ALSO vote for what speech sample you like ! I have a whole bunch, but not typical "goa" speech, or does anyone like Pearl Harbour under attack or Hitler or Taxi Driver movie in a PSYNEWS song ? Btw. in case of Hitler and PH both the speakers are dead now, is there still copyright on them ? Other samples I remember to have, Apocalypse Now,2-3 xCNN news, 4-5x diverse horror/B-movies...these famous films might be problematic with copyright I guess...

Key does not matter I just fiddle with it to fit (therefore the midi)... I wonder tho 130 is too slow ? Do not like super fast tracks but perhaps using 133 instead (?) Vote people for a BPM! Note over 140 and under 120 please. Btw. this may take a month or longer but I WILL come up with a track good or bad around 5 - 6 mins ( ) Until serious life issues may intervene.. Everyone who takes part gets credits as due for sure ! Others can still make a track too, then we might have a small EP (3-5 songs) for PSYNEWS tracks or so

Same here, kinda busy... but will try. You can provide 1 or 2 of your melodies also, checked your tunes and surely you have something unused or a bit differing one from what you already used (eg. some AP or BluePl.Corp like thingie), you can post it here for everyone to d/l just state the BPM and provide a wave (16bit enough) and midi. Best would be 130 bpm..or sent it to me ...

It would help if you can tell us the BPM you used in the melodies? You do not need to send it tho I try to fit it in anyways...

Download worked, also importing it.. But have a question is there an easy way to make 3 seperate tracks from the drumtrack, this one contains all drums and percs in your file. I did this the same years ago, but using 3 seperate tracks for eg. kick, snare and "higher up stuff" is way easier to EQ etc. I could ofc just copy the notes to a new track but is a bit too fiddly and time consuming... Seems I am quite lazy or unproductive in my music making I did nothing at all for ca. the last 2 months I am now trying to do something at least every 3rd day and also working on this file... Which bpm range did you want to use for this track? For now I put it at 130.. BTW, found a video from Bill/Cosmosis where he also shows/talks about AudioRealism Bassline (I guess 2 as it looks exactly like mine) and it sound also kind of "weak ass" there, good to know it´s not myself being to blame

MP3.com ? That must be like 15 yrs. ago or more, I remember the name A.Pussy from there and 5-6 other artists that became "something bigger" later. Sadly my (ex)band was not among these but at least they stayed trvee kult 2 or 3 songs from us were in the genre topten there IIRC (bandname was Split Effect who knows if someone remembers LOL) Need to check the pussies out to remember how they sounded....

I noted per coincidence that FLAs new album is on NO.1 in the German Alternative Charts...I did not know they have a new one, took listen to 2 songs and was...dissapointed... I mean their 2018 album was kind of a smasher for my taste...here one of the top tracks and it is not even OT I mean it has some psy elements Most claring prob FLA ever had was lyrics But in fact instrumental I gladly take 4-5 songs from this album as level for my own music... and btw. even if I only like older VNV Nation here a really catchy song (most newer from them are kinda "catchy" or "poppy" but I think this one has also athmosphere making it more then (future)pop...

The idea was using ONE track to push from eg. 5 different promoters and see the effects it has. I can provide a track or eg. recursion if he wants..My track is somewhat cheesy or "melodic" too so perhaps a bit mass appeal compared to older ones..genre tech-trance perhaps. Or Kirmes techno ? Kirmes in English = fun fair ?

I am not sure if I sign that, "perfect" quality does not mean = good music for me. Take some earlier hits some sound kind of rough but have energy and grab more attention (from me at least) then polished stuff like Astrix etc. But to each his own And that goes for Metal even more then electronic genres.. I have read a bit, seems the sellers providing "real" views and say they do not use bots (how real they are one does not know of cause) all "guarantee" the channel does not taken down. They do not provide the views as a huge wave but often over over up to 4/5 days. They also when using their service one should not buy views from another service in this time period. Guess 3-4 days time period for every "promoter" is ok... in fact the biggest hurdle for me seems to be payment method, I have no credit card and do not like paypal much. I found 2 promoters in Ger which also accept Überweisung (bank transfer?), guess I use one of these. Link to German provider (NO add for the particular one I have never used it or any other). Might be a bit more expensive on average (?) I am willing to try it out, it is simple, I make a thread in the OT section (cause it does not really belong to music making section imho).. my YT channel is more or less "dead" anyway (I get perhaps 20 views / week for my own videos).. I upload the song, give the URL and anyone who wants can "buy" something but no more than 10,- or so (if one has more money he can spend 15,- perhaps) he posts the seller url and what he has ordered. I provide also the stats in the thread. These selllers only need the video URL as I have seen. Also anyone can play the vid and thumbs it up, who does not want to spend any money...(I will also buy something of course)---Or should a new channel be created, so risk is lower that my channel gets hurt? But I believe the worst that can happen is, the vid itself may be deleted or at least the views discounted if YT has now perhaps updated their "AI" to detect such "cheats" (?) I saw 3 people interested (incl. me) here if we get 5 it could be worthwhile I guess... I do not know if the video can be monetized cause my channel is not. If this monetize thing works and the vid would earn something I report it and if it is enough I pay the buyers back.. I did not know these artists at all - but one thing is clear the "scene" could not generate the play numbers of these, so you can say they branched out to the "mainstream EDM scene". I guess "old schoolers" would even ignore often this new kind of Psy so one can assume most of their audience is outside this scene. And the answer to your question is already given above (connections,promotion,luck,somewhat catchy tunes...and then what this thread explains one can do these days "Buy an audience") However also this is not new, in the past record labels would buy their own CDs for example. Do you know this faboulus movie "Margin Call" ? What the boss says at ca. 6:00 reminds me on this topic

I have the impression if one has not say 2000% luck over the normal "luck/not luck courve" one needs to spend for every hour in music 2 hours "promoting" so your song gets more than 20 plays Yes, quality might still be important, but as we know a big% of songs in the charts lack quality so with good promo and lots of luck and connections I guess quality might only be on the 3rd place of importance. Also one needs to be an accountant these days too I looked up some channels at YT I found eg. Damian Keys who runs some kind of promo firm and offers courses etc. but his free vids are already interesting (in a way that I do not want to do this job) also here this guy: My Song Got 40,000 Streams on Spotify. Here's How I Did It. He has videos 1 hour long and most of it seems to be some kind of book keeping / accounting of numbers LOL Accountant was NOT MY dream job tho. I heard 30000 tracks (of course some of em might be only loop, demos or old songs already released) are uploaed to Spotify EACH DAY (?) I hope I get that wrong and it is at least each week...
