  1. Wat? The file type shouldn't matter for data corruption, that's a hard drive or OS issue.
  2. As usual, I've hardly heard anything released last year, especially new music. Uptempo: 1: Deviant Electronics - Green Room (Zion604) 2: Cybernetika - Solar Nexus (Ektoplazm) 3: E-Mantra - Nemesis (Suntrip)
  3. This is in the Music Making subforum, I assume the OP is referring to production rather than appreciation. I personally wouldn't answer the question without first hearing what the OP already has to work with.
  4. I don't think that's necessarily true. If you're not inspired enough to finish whatever you're working on, maybe that particular piece just doesn't have the level of quality. In my opinion anyway, if you approach creating music like one might approach laying bricks for a wall, you'll end up with boring, contrived music.
  5. I'd second Padmapani, and add that you should make lots of anything. Whole tracks, partials, loops, anything that comes to mind. Don't worry about making crap because there's usually more of that than the good, finished stuff. Just get it all out and take each piece as far as you can, and eventually you'll get to where you want to be. Also try just playing around with sounds without trying to actually write anything. You may become inspired by a sound.
  6. Go have someone push a speaker onto you and see if you feel the same way.
  7. At least it wasn't like the Lamb of God show in Prague in 2010 in which the vocalist pushed a kid off stage, who smakced his head on the floor and died later. The vocalist was charged with manslaughter, but not convicted.
  8. Ha! I thought he was just saying that for the performance! Thanks.
  9. That's weird, either it was changed in the last 14 hours or it looks completely different on my home computer than it does on my work computer. It had some navigation links on the left side but they were broken or something, it looked like someone started to build a website and gave up halfway through.
  10. The znagathering.com website is a complete failure. Is the Facebook page the only 'official' web presence for this festival?
  11. The above video is gone, but I was able to find it again on this video from about 4:30 to 8:30: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZVCDD7eCcw#t=4m30s Does anyone know what the name of the song is?
  12. At the moment my biggest dream is a studio that doesn't double as my living room.
  13. I think I have a Chynacid release and Project Khoff-U, but I didn't find them that great. The Liquid Jungle release is much better. Edit: OK, I don't have Chynacid, just the other two.
  14. Hmm, maybe I'll reconsider it. It looked kind of interesting, but the trailer made it look too epic, and I'm really getting tired of epicness in modern movies.
  15. Supposedly there's this whole phenomenon where some women are drawn toward men in prison, plus Manson is one of the most well-known criminals in history, and was known to have been a very charismatic person. It's not really that surprising honestly. I think they usually put high-profile prisoners in restricted environments (ie. away from other prisoners), otherwise I'm sure someone would have.
  16. Simulating some drum machine circuits.
  17. According to this article it only has one real song. The rest is ambient stuff recorded in 1993.
  18. Good god yes, get something new. 'Vintage' (read: old) doesn't necessarily equate to better.
  19. For one, I care about mastering, as do plenty of other people. For another, he didn't master Goapocalipsis himself, so the comment is irrelevant. And for a third, this thread is about his prospective business mixing and mastering other people's music, not his own.
  20. Goapocalipsis isn't a very good advertisement for his abilities as a mixer. While I like it musically, I find the sound grating and fatiguing.
  21. Only suggestion I can give is not to get a cheap belt-drive table. I spent $100 on mine, and while it plays fine, it has slight fluctuations in speed that I can hear on long pads and sustained chords.
