  1. Cult label, the Moksha and Biot releases are great.
  2. That Guy J track sounds a bit like Planet BEN - Silver and the late Flying Rhino stuff, cool.
  3. SBK - Dawny Darko The tempo is right (around 125bpm), beats are chunky and it's quite trippy, too. I like this one quite a lot, and want more current stuff like it. Edit: there are some very minimal and trippy Villalobos tracks, try the Shackleton remix Blood On My Hands and the 37-min-long "Fizheuer Zieheuer". He uses few sounds but knows how to get a deep & weird vibe out of them.

  5. Actually, some of the E-Mantra stuff does. The track "Shamanistic Rituals" has the 242-Moldavia vibe in the bassline. Also, the Neue Deutsche Welle track on the latest SBK album was fantastic.
  6. Would stuff like Native Radio, Protonica or (newer) Human Blue qualify? Maybe Setherian, too, somewhere between atmospheric full-on and prog.
  7. Great mix, TTT! Now, I gotta get a copy of Rabtu Gawa.

  15. This is a great release. I emailed the dude asking about the production dates of the tracks, but he didn't tell me anything. Alala, Kamikaze, Subliminal Desert and Lastrance are amazing.
  16. Imaginary Sight - Shiva ( ) Sri Hari - The Great Mantra (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfedcaeuc3E) actually, any of their tracks would do
  17. To my surprise this EP is available for download at Juno. I wouldn't describe opening track "Gollum" as trance, more like happy euro-rave. I'm not too fond of the main melody, but it has its own charm, and the sample is catchy. Things get trancey with "Fingers", this melody here is more complex and the whole track has an eerily atmospheric "Age of Love" feel. Very nice early 90s trance. Last track "Big Dust in Chapora Fort" brings a full-fledged psychedelic sound to the table. The most developed track on offer here, the bassline, FX and synths conjure the exotic/futuristic ambience of early goa. This EP shows how much these guys progressed in a short time, I'd recommend it to anyone interested in the formative stages of the genre. Get it just for "Big Dust in Chapora Fort".
  18. I had avoided Asia 2001's music for a long time due to its presentation. Album and track titles seemed uninviting, somewhat uninspired and weirdly spelled... but I just got a couple of his albums in a cheap Taiwanese compilation (Ama Zone + Dreamland) and I'm really enjoying them. This melodic, uplifting music scratches the goa itch big time while some of the new school stuff seems a bit forced or overlayered in comparison. I wish someone made music this uncomplicated, driving and effective today.
  19. 21. Voted for Beyond the Stars, those floaty synth sounds building into a dense harmonic cloud are just perfect. I actually prefer the second D5 album, it's more varied than the first and has more of a sense of journey to it.
  22. Got it yesterday, loving it to bits. Was the track "DNA" assembled from Lassigue Bendthaus samples? Sounds like it, very cool.
  23. Thanks for the tip, grabbed a lossless copy of IFO from Juno. Now I feel warm and fuzzy inside.
  24. Absolutely, unless there's any misprint on the records' credits. Which tracks do you think are incorrect? Thanks for listening, btw. :-)
