  1. Various - Techno Trax (XYZ 1991) http://www.discogs.com/Various-Techno-Trax/release/148454 Various - Gaia 1+2 (Gaia Tonträger 1992) http://www.discogs.com/Various-Gaia-1-2/release/186190 Zen Paradox - Eternal Brainwave (Restless 1993) http://www.discogs.com/Zen-Paradox-Eternal.../release/123345 Also, an Overlords album from 1991, but it's more synthpoppy/electro-industrial than proper trance really.
  2. * Bellini - Samba De Janeiro * * GEM - I feel you tonight Bonus: * Kadoc - The Night Train * Mystic - Ritmo de la Noche * * (Torsten Fenslau!) And a couple of later, slightly faster tunes verging on makina/happy hardcore, catchy as hell: * * Pont Aeri - Flying Free Can't say if this is proper eurodance, but it's cool: * Into Magic - Zauberstab

  4. Early techno/trance/industrial stuff with pre-goa vibes: KLF - What Time Is Love (Pure Trance) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNvgXJdZJZY Shaolin Wooden Men - Ohar Trilithon - Trance Dance LDC - T-Raumreise Techno Bert - Neue Dimensionen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkafv5mmg-A Konzept - Hypnautic Beats (Razormaid Remix) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLnbjdp8RnU Visions Of Shiva - How Much Can You Take Public Relation - Eighty Eight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGOgssAlYzw Zen Paradox - Minon Sunsonic - A Kind of Loving Atahualpa - Ultimo Imperio http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTLQol-8oX0
  5. My highlights are the dreamy floaters from Virtuart & Chronomyst and Antares, and Filteria. I didn't expect so much from Filteria, whose albums feel a bit overloaded with sounds but this more controlled, focused style works much better for me. I was looking forward to the artifact303 track, as his track on Opus Iridium was the one I liked the most on the dance CD, but I'm a bit underwhelmed this time. Very nice compilation overall.
  6. "Marbles" is deep, probably my favorite Hawtin tune.
  7. Very cool gated vocals: Prana - Voyager III (Voodoo Remix)
  8. Electric Universe - Waves Got it recently, very goa-ish synthwork with breakbeats. Nice album.
  9. Some forerunners, maybe a bit industrial-sounding and heavy on the vocals, but worth checking out: Front 242 - Kampfbereit (1982) Public Relation - Eighty Eight (1988) Amnesia - Ibiza (1988) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQMHOSGwudM Bigod 20 - America (1988) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqCHngNa3M8 Abfahrt - Alone (it's me) (1989) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6musPMSe24Q Klangwerk - Die Kybernauten (1990) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfkiXBnEWRA Techno Bert - Neue Dimensionen (1990) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkafv5mmg-A Love is Colder than Death - Wild World (1991) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfTuuIJlqY4
  10. Thanks to discogs I got some old compilations with really early nineties stuff, halfway between new beat and trance, which is brilliant. Check this one out, from 1990: * Atahualpa - Ultimo Imperio (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTLQol-8oX0) (apparently a big hit in Valencia, back then)
  11. Some favorites that could fit in the first category: Darshan - Black Magic Electric Universe - Stardiver Juno Rector - Rotorblade ManMadeMan - Desire (Bumbling Loons Remix) Noma - Two-D X-Dream - Rewind Edit: forgot another one: Planet B.E.N. - Space.com
  12. A couple of dodgy transitions but sounds good enough I think. Enjoy! http://rapidshare.com/files/87007542/01_DJ...200801.mp3.html Format - mp3 cbr 192 kbps Running time - 61:37 File size: 84.7 MB Ninja - Show Time (VA - Parsec, Oxygen) Astroschnautzer - Gaia Maa (The Debut, Space Boogie) Mr Peculiar - Elevation (VA - Satellite, Oxygen) Scorb - Yodyssey (Ipso Fvcto, Trick) Goasia - Taboo (From Other Spaces, Suntrip) Digicult - The Way In (Avenida de Belgica, Avigmatic) RealityGrid - Feedback Therapy (VA - Alpha Rhythms, WildThings) Hydraglyph - Psyops (VA - Pulsar, Oxygen) Prometheus - The Logic of Polyphonic (Corridor of Mirrors, Twisted) Setherian - Critical Overflow (Postrancepose, Oxygen) Imaginary Sight - Shiva (VA - Imaginarity, Glowing Flame) E-Mantra - Crop Circles (VA - Mainspring Motion, PAR-2) Ka-Sol - Skreno (Fairytale, Suntrip) Vishnudata - Villa Ghee People (Dreamforce, Space Boogie)
  13. New (software) mix with varied stuff I've been playing this year. Starts darkish and minimal, progresses to a melodic climax and ends in an emotional comedown. Thanks for listening! Length: 66.46 minutes Format: mp3 (cbr 192kbps) -> http://rapidshare.com/files/62177585/ILM_Mix.mp3.html -> http://www.megaupload.com/es/?d=QS3HX549 1. Pedro Trotz - Proyecto Humanoide 2. Dimension 5 - Beyond the Stars 11. Transwave - Adoration to the Aum 12. Battle of the Future Buddhas - Tranceportamental 13. Khetzal - Trancefuzion 14. Protoculture - Silicon Sunrise 15. 14. I've found about Vox in the "Golden Vibes II" free compilation (excellent Vox and Apis tracks in there). I'm liking the album a lot, congratulations to everyone involved.
  15. The earliest use of the gated vocals effect I recall is "Animal (Gate)" from Front 242 (1993).
  16. There are some pictures and videos linked from the official site (go to "News" section). I had a fantastic time as well, loved the morning sets.
  17. I don't know if the Distance to Goa box sets count as each volume on its own is at most 2xCD. Similarly, Steve Roach - Mystic Chords & Sacred Spaces (http://www.discogs.com/release/205127) are two 2xCDs bundled together. But this one definitely qualifies, a monster 4xCd album: Pan Sonic - Kesto (234.48:4) (http://www.discogs.com/release/250942)
  18. My main concern with CD-Rs is the "bit rot" issue. That after some years, one day I'll pick it up from the shelf and it won't play anymore. I see CD-R as a medium for temporary, disposable storage, not a collectable one. If I can't have a pressed CD I'd rather pay (less) for a download and burn it myself.
  19. Very nice album, looking forward to buy it when it gets released on CD.
  20. More good stuff: http://www.techgnosis.com/paradise.html http://www.techgnosis.com/hedonic.html
  21. I wish I could have solved this privately. I sent this guy a CD for trade on May 26. His CD still hasn't arrived and I don't know if he got mine or not. I've tried to reach him several times through private messages, no answer to any of them. Edit: got contacted today, apparently both CDs were lost or stolen. I'm disappointed but got proof of nothing other than bad luck, so negative feedback this is not.
  22. Those Chi-A.D. tunes are totally spot-on. From the psy-trance realm, Human Blue "Travelling" and Aes Dana "Aftermath #8" are gorgeous too. Beautiful tracks in the "Other Genres" department: Any Alcest song. It hasn't come out yet but "Souvenirs d'un autre monde" is already my album of the year. Or how to create pure ethereal bliss using black metal guitars. Slowdive - "When the sun Hits" Anathema - "Everwake" Brian Eno - An Ending (Ascent) Boards of Canada - "Roygbiv" Ulrich Schnauss - "A Letter from Home" Autechre - "Nine" Orbital - "Halcyon +on +on"
