  1. "Cable Enable" is the one I like the most. The way it builds up and up amazes me every time.
  2. Picked up this one recently and I'm impressed. "The Truth" is the sound of total bliss. Some stuff may sound a bit dated, and I don't like the vocals in "Boryss", but overall it's a great listen. I'll probably check out more Astralasia.
  3. Obvious choices, but here they go: - Man With No Name - "Moment of Truth" (some catchy melodies in this one) - Indoor - "Progressive Trance" (israeli old-school, lighter and more atmospheric than AP) And a newer one: - The Muses Rapt - "You" (much hated for its production and its ibizan fluff, but in the right mood tracks like "The Fly Of The Phoenix Over The Natraj" are uplifting).
  4. I'm fond of the intro to Juno Reactor's "Samurai": Anata wa taiyo, Anata wa hikari... It's spoken rather than sung, but still great.
  5. Well, my involvement in the scene is not much deeper than private listening. I'm aware of the Selenium parties and other stuff, but the people I usually hang out with are not into dance music at all, and I'm getting a bit too lazy to attend parties alone. There could be thousands of other 'closet psytrancers' around and we wouldn't know. :-)
  6. Finally registered after a long time lurking the forum and perusing the reviews. I've enjoyed psychedelic trance since I first listened to it in 1998, at an Amsterdam coffee shop called Baba during a Eurorail summer trip. Some weeks later I purchased "Black Rhino" and Matsuri's "Forever Psychedelic" and got hooked, becoming a regular (yet non-exclusive) listener of the genre. To illustrate my taste I've uploaded my first attempt at a mix, made to introduce trance to some friends of mine. I used a very nice piece of software called Dekstasy and I reckon it probably sucks from every technical perspective, but it's quite listenable. http://s50.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=19HYUU0...XW1KT4NWV3XIXYG Tracklist follows: 1. Global Communication - 0 53 (0:54) 2. Luna Eclipse - The Return Home (Solar Mix) (6:14) 3. Prana - Taiyo (3:23) 4. Manmademan - Desire (Bumbling Loons Remix) (5:52) 5. Total Eclipse - Can't Do That (5:15) 6. Human Blue - Virtual Turnaround (3:38 ) 7. Matenda - Digital Highway (5:32) 8. Chi-A.D. - Beyond the Singularity (3:29) 9. Doof - Angelina (7:29) 10. Darshan - Black Magic (7:16) 11. Eat Static - Bony Incus (Man With No Name Remix) (3:45) 12. Etnica - Starship 101 (5:16) 13. The Delta - As a Child I Could Walk on the Ceiling (5:58 ) 14. Cosma - People on Hold (6:43) (total playing time: 70:52)
  7. I've recently started listening to some stuff from the Kompakt label. Michael Mayer's "Touch" album is quite good and somewhat trancey.
  8. I'm curious about his 'metal years', as he allegedly played in Venom. What was playing with Cronos and the gang like? What kind of memories do you have from that time? Venom have just released a new album. Do you keep an eye in the current metal scene?
