Not on this occasion, no - they asked for ideas for birthday presents and that was one I gave them. They have got me stuff I didn't ask for in the past, with pretty good results; that's how I got into The Arcade Fire, and am very glad I did.

Why? If your profile is erased then it's erased for good. There's nothing stopping you just being inactive if that's what you want, which gives you the option of changing your mind at a later date.

Imba suggested it (in a post that's now invisible). I agree, but unfortunately my first reply led to a number of exchanges that had less to do with the subject and were instead personal attacks. I've edited some of the offending material out of my and others' posts, and also set some invisible; another mod set a load more posts invisible. If there's something in particular that was removed but that you feel shouldn't have been then let us know. Nope. Post here because you want to, if you want to - nobody is forcing you.

I don't think that Admins can find out your current password but they can reset it to something new. I'll draw their attention to your post. (Mods can't do either.)

Look, while we're on the subject of things that are not arguments, "you just can't understand music as well as I can because I've been listening to it for longer than you so ner ner ner" is not an argument. I like arguments. If you have some arguments to support your opinion then go ahead and post them. But telling someone that their perception of music is wrong and yours right because you've been listening to it for longer than they have isn't an argument, it's being an elitist jerk. How about you try reading your posts instead? In particular, read this one. If you really can't tell how badly you come across in that post then that's because you most likely missed out on a lot of things, arguments that occoured before you started reading this website, hence your inability to tell the difference. People would get a plastik bottle in the head for posting such a cheesy post like that in the '00s. But if you were there when it was all happening, you would understand. Peace out.
