  1. I love Boards of Canada, and from their releases I prefer MHTRTC and after that, the "In a Beautiful Place Out in the Country" EP.. Geogaddi is my third choice, though I haven't yet heard Twoism. If you haven't heard the "In a Beautiful Place ..." EP, I strongly recommend you to get it.
  2. system of a down - toxicity .. after a long time
  3. I heard Tiesto play this himself live a week ago and it actually fit nicely in his set. I'm pretty tired of the original and this gave some new approach to the track. I didn't really like it either when I first heard it at home though. Can't really think of bad remixes, I guess I try to avoid hearing them in the first place. I mean, stuff like Alien Project remix of an Astral Projection song... why bother?
  4. I've got about 60, and very few of them are psy. i used to buy lots of psy/ambient cd's a few years ago, but then i got bored with the whole genre and i sold a lot of them. lately i've started buying stuff again but it's mostly idm/rock.
  5. apparently metal sharon is the long anticipated simon vs eat static collaboration. so much for that then this is from a simon interview on the hallucinogen site:
  6. Haven't got too high hopes for any of those, but I have most trust in Simon.
  7. interesting poll.. i'm in the "just homelistening & collecting a bit.." category.
  8. I wouldn't pay for mp3's. I can get mp3's for free. Sometimes I might pay for cd's. I can't get them for free.
  9. aren't mainly and mostly the same thing? or is there a slight difference? anyways.. i voted for "mostly"
  10. shpongle 3 and uns 2 for sure.. new jaia's announced? that one definitely then also.. wasn't hallucinogen vs eat static announced for real? this one also. in the mean time i want to explore the older stuff i haven't heard yet and get some new idm as well.
  11. ridiculous.. i pay around 40e for 1mbit and you can get even more speed for just a bit higher price here (finland).
  12. his talking about the "samba" part in my head feels like a frisbee. i gotta say that i've also heard this part in many places. of course i only started to notice it after i heard it in shpongle, but it definitely is a song that comes across often.. i'm not commenting anything else in this thread because like some others, i don't really care whether they use samples or not as long as it sounds good. and i'm sure that if they're using parts from other people's songs, they have a permission for it.
  13. Actually you're right Kailash.. I listened to the comp today after a long time. I had forgotten about Simon's beautiful track, and the Spacedrifters track has some nice piano parts too. Definitely some classical elements there.. My mistake.
  14. Where do you find classical elements in Twelve? I thought it was one of the most pure ambient comps I've heard from a psy-label.
  15. i could do without "battalions of brazilian batucada beats, flamenco solo's" but i bet it's still good. however, i would have loved something more in the style of "are you shpongled".
  16. psy vs idm could be interesting.. hallucinogen vs aphex twin or somebody vs BoC
  17. No no no fucking Bjork in this music. I don't like her at all.
  18. Haha this is great: "Goa would be the best genre ever, if it weren't for the fucking hippies." true, true
  19. And what's wrong with that thread? DeathPosture posts the same reviews here and yes, they're good. I don't think that thread differs that much from the reviews on this board.
  20. christmas is over thank god but happy new year to you all
  21. i've not yet found anything as good as shpongle, but i have to say that i haven't really explored ambient music that much, though i'd like to.. some of my favourite stuff besides shpongle is celtic cross, fsol & ott.
