  1. I don't know really.. albums can be great throughout if the artist has put a lot of effort to it, but usually there's just too little variation. Comps on the other hand can be very good but often they're just a bunch of tracks thrown on the same disc with no connection between the tracks. So it basically all comes down to the individual release.
  2. to be honest... sex. then alcohol and music.
  3. finnish stuff isn't funny, just crap. (edit: IMO)

i wouldn't worry about it just because of the label. this one might actually be good..

hmm i like the in-detail reviews that for example deathposture writes. but i somewhat agree that the reviews section hasn't been very good lately, with a lot of new stuff completely missing. however i don't think i have a say in this since i suck at writing reviews and therefore only read them.
  10. i'm so happy for you.. true love doesn't come around very often.
  11. if you compare it to other stuff released these days it deserves a 10. compared to other shpongle stuff... hard to say.
  12. happened to me aswell, didn't know where the lyrics are from and suddenly i heard them in this movie. i kind of liked the movie though..
  13. heh the seraph vs traveller battle is priceless. anyway....... i like "dead cities" best.. dark yet beautiful.

  15. Well, just the general tempo of the tracks makes it very unlike Are You Shpongled. It's more like the Shpongle stuff we've heard on recent compilations with almost a stedy 4/4 beat on the background of some tracks. And yes, there are careval-ish parts and some even more crazy ideas thrown into the tracks but personally I think that it all somehow fits in. The music keeps surprising you all the time but still has that Shpongle touch all over it. Don't wait just because of our descriptions.. you have to hear this stuff yourself to form an opinion.
  16. Listened to it for the first time last night. What a great feeling just to lie down on a bed with lights out and headphones on, and to know that you're listening to the latest Shpongle for the first time. And I gotta say that I love it! The music is definitely more similair to Tales than Are You Shpongled with flamenco guitars, carneval instruments and ethnic vocals. It's however more straightforward than the previous album. What surprised me the most is that the music is so intense. I wouldn't really call this chill-out since most of the tracks are very fast. But what's great about it is that the music becomes almost hypnotizing.. I don't think I've ever been so deeply "in" the music than last night. Overall I love the new style, it's very fresh and completes the trilogy nicely. Funny how at some point I thought to myself how the music made me feel like I was in a dream. Then I remembered that it was the theme of the album.. they definitely succeeded in creating that theme.
  17. whoa.. 8 pages about the new shpongle and i've so far managed to miss the whole thread.. didn't even know about it being leaked. anyways.. downloading now, gonna be some great evening listening. still got my pre-order at cdon.com so hopefully i'll get the real thing sometime soon. thanks for the good torrent site link, didn't know about this place before.. getting the stuff at about 100kb/sec which is a good rate for me
  18. well that Ishkur's guide seems to put Crystal Method into chemical breaks and Chemical Brothers to big beat. but i guess all those styles are so similair it's difficult and useless to try to categorize the bands too accurately.
  19. Yup. 261380[/snapback] yeah i would call it big beat as well. even though i'm not a genre enthusiast.
  20. well i recognize the name but have no clue about his music or the alias Plastikman bah.. IMO they just copied prodigy and chem bros and sucked at it
  21. never even heard of him. pretty much agree with you on the rest though.
  22. IM - Bust a move is pretty intense, especially the ending..
