  1. Very nice track with great melodies !!! It reminds me of those video games of my childhood when reaching the end of the game you had this happy ending where the evil was eventually defeated and the whole world was happy again, and all that with a memorable closing music Anyway, I'm pariculary impressed by the fact that it is your first track with Reason, as the production is also very good. That's too bad if you gave up just because of that. I think every producer know this feeling, at least I know this happen to me every time. But once you've really finished your track, you see things diferently and you can even enjoy it like it was the first time you heard it. Very satisfaying feeling
  2. I've created an account on AcidPlanet just to be able to download some of his track So wich one do you recommend me to check? (because it would take too much time to listen to them all....) Also, it's very nice from you to show so much interest in amateur producer's music and we need more people like you in this forum, but why aren't Infinite Dimensions or Tempestuous G posting here themselves?
  3. Yes it sounds good but it also sounds a bit empty. A "main theme" is lacking I think : you've paid much attention to little details, but you forgot about melodies , bass etc..... Some acid lines or some real instruments(like saxophone or piano) would fit well with your track I think. Have you ever heard of Amon Tobin?

    PsyNews FAQ

I'd like to know what happened during August 2004. Why did so many people registered back then ?
  5. I think you should upload your track in higher bitrate if you want more accurate feedback. The sound quality is one of the most important thing in such kind of "minimal music".
  6. Hi sharni. You got some very nice track there, with good production. I first checked the two goa track, and they are too simple & gentle I think. Then I checked the others and I think you're much better at producing "progressive trance". My favorites are Brannigans Law and blaBla.
  7. Exactly! Great track, from both a producer and listener point of view. I can't see anything wrong in this. It's all good!
  8. 1) What programs you use, and any hardware instruments, midi controllers, etc (PC Specs too)? - Softaware : Reason 3.0 and occasionally Rebirth 2.0 - Hardware : none - Computer : AMD Athlon64 3500+, 1GB Ram (Corsair ) , 160 Gb HD, Sound blaster Audigy 2 ZS, Windows 2000 Pro - Headphones : BeyerDynamic DT 770 Pro 2) On average, how long does it take you to build and finish a Song? Years..... Seriously, I still haven't finish a single track but I have almost 100 project right now. 3) Which parts do you find tedious when building your track (if any), if it pattern sequencing, automation, etc? "My biggest problem is usually to tie all the parts together in a suitable way" me too. I always get stuck at this stage of production. 4) Where did the inspiration come from to start producing music? I'm not sure if I got this right. Is it about what made you want to start producing music, or what inspire you when you start a new song? 5) AND Your favourite style to produce? Any kind of electronic music but mostly melodic Psytrance.
  9. And what about the new Line Mixer 6:2 propellerhead implemented in the 3.0 version? I have the feeling that the overall sound quality has been improved in this latest version, but I never tried anything else than Reason so I can't be sure. It would be intersting to have your opinion about Reason 3.
  10. Ok I've just listened your track and it's very nice, but there's still many things you could improve. Your track lacks power, energy, something that make you want to dance Maybe you should focus on developing the bass, which is barely noticable when all the synth are playing together. The kick and the hi-hats are a little bit too "basic" also. The break between 3.30 and 4.00 don't bring much to your track: you simply removed the kick and when it gets backs, it's like nothing happened. Just a few exemples.....
  11. I'm happy but also very surprised to see someone mentionning this album on Psynews. Maybe you could write a review for this. If you really enjoyed the snger's voice, I have some recommendation for you. Just ask me if you're interested, and maybe you could introduce me to some similar artist too. I already know Toires, but I'm not familiar with dakinirecords, so thanks for the tip.
  12. Of course it is. Even songs from reason 2.0 are compatible with Reason3.
  13. 1. Start reason 2. Create a new song 3. Create a mixer 4. Create a rebrth input machine 5. (Optional) Press Tab and connect each synth(the one that you want to use obviously) to one of the channel on the mixer. Like this for exemple: 6. Then start rebirth 7. Have fun
  14. I'm always happy to hear some new goa-trance, but I really can't stand those streaming site like acidplanet. Is there a way to download some of these track, even in low quality? I've said in another topic how much I love Mindcrawlers music. I'm sure I'll love your music too.
  15. Hi again Stalker. I've just listened your 2nd sampe "teste" and it indeed sounds much better. But it's just my opinion and others may disagree. Also you should know that I'm just an amateur, so don't take my advices too seriously. The only recommendation I could give is get yourself some headphones if you aren't able to afford some expensive monitor right now. I bought a Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro for 130€ just a few months ago, and I can tell you I've made much more progress in the last 5 month than I expected.
  16. I don't want to disappoint you but they used the Pleiadians name quite a few time since the Family of light album, even recently : V.A. Phase III in May 2005 http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/etn/etn1cd015.html V.A. Ibiza 10am in April 2005 http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/har/har1cd004.html V.A. Explorer in November 2005 http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/etn/etn1cd016.html Asteroids and Space odyssey aren't bad IMO, I would even say that Asteroids is good, but the remix of 7 Days is boring.
  17. I'm ashamed to admit it but I've never heard any track by Ka Sol, except the one on Aspara of course. I must also add that I was a bit sceptical when I read that the style of this album is going to be forest-trance. The only time I've heard this term was when someone was describing Derango's music. Even if I enjoy his music more than most of the Dark-psytrance releases, it still sound a bit too hard and "agressive" to my ears. But Suntrip never disappointed me and I'm sure this one won't disappoint either.
  18. That's what I said about your track Machine, and even if Lost temple sounds better, I think what I said still apply to this track. I've tried to reproduce some parts of your track to give you a concrete exemple of what I'm saying sample1 is how it should sound (don't take me wrong here, I am not saying that this crappy sample is better than your track, I'm just talking about the thecnical part ) sample2 is how it actually sound. Here I've removed the reverb, I've boosted the low frequencies of the bass and lowered the mid frequencies. Also all the sounds are in "mono". So do you see the differencies? This is particularly noticeable if you listen to it with headphones.
  19. Hi stalker. I've read other people's review and I'm starting to think that something is wrong with me, because I hear some major problem in your production, the same problems as in your previous track Machine actually. If you're interested, I can show what I mean with some exemple.
  20. I'll check those two track soon. I wonder if they kept their "distinctive style".
  21. Mukunga Umbura Check out the samples from the album Secret Vision http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display...ase.asp?id=3676
  22. My favorite is probably Reflux, but I haven't heard all their track Last year? Can I ask you some exemples (name of the compilation I mean) because the last tracks I've heard from Hux Flux are the ones from Division By Zero relrased in 2003 (almost 3 years ago!!)
  23. Hi again. No, not too loud. My headphones aren't that good either, so maybe that's just me, but I had the feeling that some frequencies of the bass had been filtered and I could only hear a "sub-bass" if you see what I mean. I liked the way you used your drums and I think you should use some stereo echoes (or multi tap as it's called in reason) and not some normal echoes. And maybe use different reverb in order to give a more "metallic" feeling to your sound.
  24. !!! I'm impressed!!! No, actually I think I'm jealous. I just listened Soulburn and also your other tracks and it has it all : the old-scholl feeling and energy, the modern production quality, the goa melodies !!! I also appreciate the large variety of style your tracks provide like the nervous and energetic "Wizard Magic" or the slower more trippy "Plunge". The only bad thing I could say is that some of your track lacks a memorable melody, the kind of melody that makes you instanly recognize a track. But that's just a detail. I think my favorites are Firebloom and Soulburn, but I've got to give them more listen. With 6 tracks, over 1 hour of music, that makes almost a complete album from you Maybe you should contact a label like Suntrip to release your tracks, what do you thhink ?
  25. Hi Stalker. People won't even bash it and you know why? Because it would take too much time, to download it, to listen it and then to find something interesting to say that would not be "hey nice track bro, keep up the good work". Yes that's how it is, and no it's not because the forum doesn't get enough visits: the amount of answer in NHJOHYENNRO thread proves it I think. And what about producers that post here? Only them know how pleasant it can be to receive some nice feedback. They are the one who should make an effort. This is not directed against you personally of course (as I see you also answer to other's thread) but just a general feeling I have. But sorry, I know that's not what you want to hear So about yout track, two opposite thoughts came to my mind : Great for the originality and all the ideas behind the track , but bad for the production part It sounded like a 64kbps Mp3 recorded in mono. Maybe something went wrong during the mp3 conversion. And that's too bad because it ruined the track : I could barely hear the reverb and I found all the low frequencies(mostly the bass) a bit irritating and monotonous. The rest however was good and original I think. I don't know many "dark psy" (I guess that's what you're trying to do) artists that prefer the minimalistic style over the agressive kicks & basseline, or artist that would use a 1minute long break like the one at 3min40 in your track. Ok that's all for now
