I haven't read all these moderation threads, and I really don't have time to do so, but I really just think that if people stopped obsessing over what is appropriate to post and what is not appropriate to post in off-topic, then people would just make posts....instead of making posts about what is within 'the rules' to post, or making posts that 'test' the rules and the mods. People are spending FAR too much time being concerned about this, and really everyone on this forum is intelligent enough to read the rules and to abide by them(or so I would like to think they are). It's really not that difficult...

...i'll answer this one later.

1. Vocals - in progressive psy and full on- no. that vocoder thing- i hate it. 2. Electro Influence in Psy - unless its done really well. i hate that offbeat bassline that has infected so much progressive these days.... 3. 150bpm+ - it gets to the point where its just TOO fast, where you can't decipher sounds from one another. there are well produced exceptions to this...(which i can't think of at the moment...) 4. "Neuro" - nonesense dark psy. stupid name. it has no structure, its usually got no melody, its got too many scratchy sounds, its usually too fast. me no like. 5. Fomulaic Full On or Progressive - mostly Israeli stuff on labels like com.pact, hommega, utopia...i really don't like this, so haven't really kept up with it at all for the past few years. 6. Progressive House that Passes Itself Off as Psy - Yes i have a special place in my heart for that beckers track but no its not at all psy. Iboga's sadly on this path as well... 7. "Dark Psy" putting too much emphasis on the fact that its "Dark" - Artists & Labels like DarkPsy, DarkOhm, Dark Elf, DARK Records, Darkabba, Dark Shire....its never wise to box yourself into one genre (look at Dark Soho...no longer dark!)

ohhh there's a name i haven't heard for a while Seconded! the Amsterdam and Prague Global Undergrounds of his are great Anthony Pappa - NU Breed also is excellent. certainly not labeled as psytrance, but very psychedelic none the less... Oliver Lieb.....mmm...i could go on about this stuff forever. Ask me in 3 weeks when its fresh in my mind after i pack all my vinyl But my real question is, what kind of psy are you listening to thats making you get bored with an entire musical genre???? Which Artists? Compilations?

Well there are a lot of acts popping up in the us now, especially from the west coast...and a lot of it i'm not too crazy about...too "neuro" (hate that term as well...) The way it works for me is more like, I'll always support my friends who are making music.....what country they are from is not so much a big deal for me, (I'm not a very enthusiastic american...) However, I'm totally down with what Penta, Alien Mental, Ocelot, Onnomon, Mubali, Xyla, Primordial Ooze and D-Space/Alpha Channel are doing....

Ah yes, well when I created this thread, its because i saw the release on the front page of psyshop, and then I forgot that psyshop pulls this trick where they make it look like they have something available before all the other shops, when in actuality when you order from there prior to what release date is supposed to be you are really just 'pre-ordering' even though they don't tell you that like chaos unlimited used to do....that being said.... for real, album is released TODAY! (supposedly...)

yaaaahhh...I've played this in a set of mine before....purely to see what people's reactions would be. Unfortunately, it was the last track I played and I was pretty drunk by that time, so I don't really remember exactly what that reaction was... Xtra Unit is a side project of Phatmatix and someone else I can't remember... I asked him about the sample once "so, you like the backstreet boys, eh?"....he claims he didn't know that song at the time the track was made...the other part of the sample is people talking taken from some movie i guess...
