  1. the pic you got on now reminds me of a friend who had the same due, minus the mullet... he just had really long hair tips in the front... they looked like aerodynamic antennas... i tried to do that myself, alas that kind of hair only works on Asian kids. anywho, nice mix, i really liked the beginning.

    V/A - Sonic Seasoning

Compilation: Sonic Seasoning Label: Trishula Records CAT: TRISHCD009 Sonic-energy.net : http://www.sonic-energy.net/core/content/view/312/2/ 01. Attoya - The Missed Memory 02. Mind Distortion - Desert Highway 03. Safidafi - Find The Key 04. Ocelot - Sunyata 05. Dark Elf - More More More 06. Orestis - Unreal 07. Jellyheadz - Down Under 08. Vicious Alchemy - Alien Syndicate 09. Melorix - Serial Giller 10. Kraft - Remember Yourself Sonic seasoning is an interesting deviation from the Trishula sound. For one is not compiled by Mouka himself, Dj Chrysalid actually did the honors this time and you can tell there’s a woman’s touch in this mixture of energies. The cover is enough to attest it, just look at those colors. The ride starts with Alex & Leonid (Attoya) . Their music has been quietly passing around rosters in profile labels. Word on the street is, there might be one or two albums on the pipeline. Besides being proud members of the 150’s club, their sound signature is clearly defined with harmonic drops in between all the madness. This concoction has been working rather well for them up this point and “The Missed Memory” is a good way to get things cracking. Mind Distortion System is off course Jara de Los Santos who has turned into another Trishula regular. At this point I’m not sure how the Fear and Loathing samples settle with me, but at least is not the same sample the last million people chose. The idea behind it is probably trying to convey a desert feeling, which is all fine and dandy with me. It certainly does the trick with high pitched rhythmic accompaniments and whizzing, crunching, guzzling sounds. Besides that is probably a good idea if you hear it yourself. This one is a slight mix up. Apparently track three got swapped with four and this is supposed to Safidafi, but it’s clearly Ocelot. So let’s just proceed with that. “Sunayata” Is actually Sanskrit for a Kadampa branch of Mahayana Buddhism that relies on the teachings of emptiness. Naturally the track is silence... ha… no, it comes loaded with that crispy, droning, rasping synth action, filter sweeps and intelligent beats. It’s a big wobble of candy, yummy. Continuing with Safidafi, this one is yet another Greek newcomer (they seem to have blossomed this year) and the sound is not that different from the other countrymen. Strong, wispy, and extremely driving. Interesting. Dimitry Santas (Dark Elf) carries forward the Greek wave with coherent synth structures, very paddy, expansive to near sci-fi action (this is obviously the part where the bad guy shows up). The interesting deviation comes actually in the beat: It’s solid tribal galore. The effects and droning shit down below complete the atmosphere fully, as to leave you wanting “More More More” Orestis continues with his particular knack, drifting to slightly dark realms and “I’m psycho” samples that sink on nearly mechanic rumbles, and bleep malfunctions on delay bliss. The content is great, the arrangement & delivery is perfect, but I’m just missing somewhat of a varied beat. Coming about describing anything these two pull together (Jellyheadz) is just beyond concepts. Language fails here. So let’s just compare it to previous stuff. Their material is getting weirder and stranger with every single track they release. It seems that is the knack a psychedelic artist deals with these days, to explore how far the thread can go before it breaks and you end up in randomness. If you enjoy their post-madness phase this will do, for those of us who enjoyed “Insomnia” or the likes from last year, this deviation is definitely on the strange side. Either way, we are not too far off from the norm these days… Vicious Alchemy (Jelly and if I’m not mistaken DJ Chrysalid herself), whom just had their first release on Mechanophobia. “Alien Syndicate” imprints that same wild, alien-side of Jelly, with wispy quasi-Vangelis synth’s, or at least it has that retro feel. Anyway, it’s nice to hear the energy and interesting ideas of a newcomer in action, with a guiding hand to trail those ideas in line. Catchy stuff. Melorix is Psycore with the push of a button, relentless, unwavering, minimal on the effects and down to business. Forget the trippy stuff around the edges, or the technical flair and just give me a beat, with a riff rasping to no end. Down below you find the wind roaring and… ‘shut the fuck up…” nuff’ said. I hadn’t heard anything from Kraft in a while and the first thing that pops to my head is invariably “Trancepero” from last year. Pavel has shown an interesting progression from then, exploring swinging noises and dissolution of sounds. This is the kind of stuff that will really take you knowhere when the time is right. In retrospect Sonic Seasoning serves well for that purpose. The sound score for a sixty minute trip. Along the ride the quality tends to fluctuate a bit, but that might just be the lack of good neurons talking. As usual, a Trishula ride is always worth looking into.
  3. For the love of god baba, change that avatar, it's hurting the cornea of eye... anywho... i'll check this tommorrow at work sounds classy...
  4. no point comparing them baba, it might all appear like the same 'dark trance' on letters but the approach here was different. No point explaining, guess we'll just have to wait for them samples so you can hear the difference yourself.
  5. cheers folks, the artist list went through many, many changes for an extended period of time. Along the way some good things were lost, other good things were gained. What is on the roster right now, follows the theme with a coherent harmonic progression and an actual story behind it all. We’re extremely honored being able to bring this material to the light as for the cover.. the smoke 'dude' is an actual picture from a very talented photographer... http://jeffreyklassen.com/
  6. Vapour is neither light nor heavy, perhaps abstract and yet so defined. For those who have risen above it all in the wake spectral neurobiology, there is only one outcome to that burning desire for madness… Vapour is musique à la carte, an ode to the shibby dew, a journey through warped surroundings and melodic unity. Eighteen different acts have linked together pitch black with a powerful morning daze, extracting their very essence in sultry, hypnotic vibrations. No mercy for the roach. 01. Lemurians - Input Flip (Procs Rmx) :: 145 02. Mubali Vs. Infinitesimal - Exciting World of Hip :: 145 03. Atriohm Vs. Encephalopaticys Vs. Yudhisthira - Soma Rasa :: 147 04. Element of Time Media is partly a label, partly a digital distribution network for electronic music in all forms. The order of the day is reasonably priced wav and mp3 downloads with high definition art work (1700 x 748), ready to be printed and burned. We deal with music not plastic. More details to follow...
  7. you need to put more money on it ditto... and maybe the new ocelot
  8. Pedro, your insight is as large as your beard.
  9. lots of Atriohm and even a vs. Encephalopaticys. On top of that we have ghreg and off course the headliner himself... promissing stuff.
  10. Compilation: Future Sound Theory Label: Celestial Dragon CAT: CDRED-07 Sonic-energy: http://www.sonic-energy.net/core/content/view/307/2/ 01. Antonio Testa - Lumumba 02. Ochre - Esign 03. Electrypnose - Juste Pour Toi 04. Gaudi - Rain In Dub 05. Dublicate - Peace (Fresh Version) 06. Gel Sol - Cool Sweet Awesome Yay! 07. Nalepa - Pomme Granite Dub 08. Monolake - Digitalis 09. RaNDom - Hybrid (Tokyo Elite Version) 10. edIT - Laundry 11. EOX - Aeon 12. Adron - Klo Celestial dragon is feeling exuberant this time around with the self-dignified Future Sound Theory. For those of us still living in the present, a jumbled ride of down beat proposals awaits; carrying through a loose ride in between IDM sketchers, a Marley-sized dose of electronic dub, without forgetting the psychedelic chill out. This last bit stems from organic touches -with the likes of Antonio Testa- all the way to Mr. Electrypnose. Matt.b was careful enough not mix the shindig far enough, as to render the material unusable for those looking to spin it themselves... Especially since the end-bits seem to slide just deep enough to connect into a headphone adventure, or an unattended sound score for the ideal smoking session with guests. Antonio Testa drops by a nice little percussive moment and a bit of chanting without drifting to a hindu-cliché (may Shiva forgive me). Deep, sustained gating, in an out as if to signal a shamanic moment without actually conveying the presence of a guiding entity. If you have ever made your rounds by Bleep.com, Ochre might sound familiar. Esign is a sweet melodic contraption rising high with structured notes, slipping in each other’s shoes up the stream. Alas a bit too short to actually enjoy it properly with a three minute mark. If your thirst for more was not nearly quenched like mine, I suggest you look for Chris’ latest album Lemodie. Juste Pour Toi is as close as we’ll ever get to ballad with Vins, and that’s just not saying much. If his latest downbeat “Subliminal Melancholies” was of any interest, this will sweeten the deal for you. Misery leads, floating sounds and a slight treatment of glitch underneath as a well polished sound signature. I’ve heard great things about Gaudi in the past but never had an opportunity to experience it myself. This was clearly a mistake. Dub markings in the form of bass, nice drumming bits and this semi-African chanting delayed (or the idea of thereof), hinting towards slight head-wobbliness. Dubplicate continues on the Jah-mon vibe nicely, as yet another psychedelic fusion of down-beat that at times might even remind of OTT. Peace in it’s fresh version sounds like an evolved tune that has passed through several revisions to reach this point and the efforts paid off. It’s effortlessly intricate, pouring sonic-candy of nonsense in between well polished guitar bits and harmonic accompaniments. Gel So is Andrew Jhon Reichel, normally featured in Em:t Records like is the case with Cool Sweet Yay! Which sounds to me like a less sophisticated Boards of Canada -a bit more straightforward- missing that iconic sense ambience the two Scotts manage to conjure so well. I mention them here specifically for the arrangement of elements, general intonation and even the use vocals counting children with other silly samples. These spring to mind classics like “Aquarious” yet not at the same level. At the end though, it just sounds slightly overused in my head without actually being a bad track. Nalepa shifts the mood with more deep and assertive drum smacks, sitting well on my end of the pond. In between we have distortion bits and the haunting line which always seems to bring a smile. Pomme Granite Dub is well executed, even if it has trouble partying from the main movement to introduce new shifts. Monolake has that retro IDM sound to it that could be placed well in say, Aphex Twin’s first installment of selected ambient works. Digitalis carries that old-school artistry galore. If you are expecting nuovo effects and flashy, dashing sounds you won’t find them here though. RaNDom is none other than Matt.b himself accompanied by Ian Hartley. Their offering Hybrid (Tokyo Elite Version) is exactly that: a slightly simplistic form of dub, spliced with a funky touch of IDM to really set the mood of this compilation properly. In short that is the theme, a successful hybrid of sounds in a single serving. And it’s complex enough at that, but personally not a standout. EdIT I’m not familiar with, but Laundry is an instant classic. You might so think so as well if Autechre’s Tri Repetae and especially “Leterel” rings a few bells (more than others). Fractured, compulsive rhythms that still manage to make sense amidst all the chaos found inside. The beauty of imperfection, a dying machine rumbling and guzzling enchanted tones. Truly inspiring work with more twist and turns as to have complexity junkies wallowing in glee. Eox slows down the pace a bit with Aeon to nearly uninspired depths. It’s just a numb daze with effects and quasi-beats that don’t seem to carry us anywhere. For the ones that know, it feels and sounds a lot like K hole… a vacuous exercise in nothingness that slowly builds onto something from the depths of confusion. Call it experimental visions if you will. Adron closes the book with KLÓ , ending in proper IDM fashion. Overly quiet and chilled, droning to near silence in the simplicity of arrangement. I consider this one bedside material to pass out and quite classy at that. I don’t know how much future this one conveys, but is definitely an interesting release in the sea of pre-formatted psychedelic releases even in down-beat, which will probably gain some attention from different crowds. The pace of the ride is very well crafted, even if the mastering is not all I could have hoped for in every chapter. Still worth listen if you like to adventure outside the realm of 604 and by all means you should at some point…
  11. i already heard and it rocks waitin for our main man here to settle things
  12. last i knew they were getting a compilation ready with girls only, but that was a while ago. check their tribe at tribe.net... best place to get a scoop on their wheelings and dealings
  13. could it be the other way way around, perhaps?
  14. http://www.resonantearth.com/ * wink wink * there's a few other options coming as well...
  15. yeah man, it's called fading The rest you can blameon boring dj's... I don't like a full on too much for example, but i know a friend that will give me a run for my legs. He knows the timing, he knows the tracks and he knows how to mix superbly well... to the point where he makes doubt everything i thought i knew... it's about the DJ...
  16. that really, really blows... i have theories, but since they are only that i'm gonna keep them to myself.
  17. no there's not a lot of 'melodic' content in One Day but you might might find some along the way (glum leaper, *hint*, *hint*)
  18. give it another week before contacting costumer support, it's usually internal mail of each country that takes the longest to deliver packages, 3-4 weeks is pretty much standard for me. The longest was probably 2 months... i had already given the cd for lost when it just popped up one day.
  19. i had little casio when i was youth... i could make the airplane FX, going up and down as if it was gonna crash, and then put a beat to it... blew everyone away... my musical skills haven't improved that much since, but it's already a pretty high standard (IMO).
  20. i think you are desperately trying to find a category for the stuff you like, which spreads over different sub categories i won't bother naming... mostly because nobody is really sure, you know. There isn't a definitive book where you can find hux flux, filed under x or z category... from what you have there though, many people would consider halluciongen the epitome of what Goa was at some point. Think Astrix and you have the definition of full on along with 90% of what came out of israel in those days and still does... even though more diversity is showing up lately. at the end, just get what you like, enjoy it and as more things start showing up and you hear different things those differences might become more visible. They might not, is not something to loose sleep over...
  21. sweet i have been really thinking about getting it, gonna wait for your comments... i got no music today, i'm kind of broke
  22. http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/10/17/yourmoney/music.php dunno if anybody has been following this, but it seems like a blatant finger to the US and RIAA who have been mounting pressures to close off the site. Can't wait to see who throws the next punch...
  23. back in the day i really liked Sub6 - Who needs love songs but i don't know if it's the best album evargh. I also got the newest mr. peculiar, but i don't really play that often, didn't stand the test of time too well.
