  1. i'm partisan to the whole remixing thing provided there is interesting material to be remixed and remixer is to my liking. Why not? we have a wealth of gems that could do worse than being remixed by an accomplished artist. Yes, they are often 'not as good, no.'... and that tends to ruin the the whole concept of remixes in psy, even for those that really put something out there that is worthy of the try.
  2. wow... this pretty damn good, original as usual and damn tasty... talk about new goa mutations...
  3. DAMN IT NEMO!!! please stop trying to make people's life simpler... thank you.

  7. Compilation: Multiple Personalities 2 Label: Manic Dragon Records Web: http://www.sonic-dragon.com CAT: MDREC-06 Sonic-Energy.net: http://www.sonic-energy.net/core/content/view/316/2/ 1. Technical Hitch Vs Zoolog - Return To The Saws [146] 2. Cyanescens Vs Dark Nebula - The Delivery [145] 3. Baphomet Engine Vs Stereographic - Stereophometh [150] 4. CPC Vs Para Halu - Prince Of Darkness [150] 5. Flipknot Vs Jun - Working Secrets [150] 6. Kindzadza Vs Ocelot - Quack Attack [150] 7. Stranger Vs Zik (A.K.A. Kukuruku) - The Story Continues [154] 8. Hishiryo Vs D-Fragmental - Land Of The Mad [156] 9. Blisargon Demogorgon Vs Phobos Azazel - Black Forest Destiny 152] Multiple Personalities was well received last year (at least by me) and the second installment seems to carry that same frantic line of work. The idea even at this point remains kind of novel, a versus only compilation with respected names packed together in a combo of hellish madness. If all of this still sounds tantalizing let’s proceed to the main dishes. Technical Hitch has been brooding under the table for quite some time now and riots are being declared on his name. Zoolog (Mikkel Jais) is rather unknown to me, but the Israeli-Danish flourished well. What we face here is frantic, dangly molten effects -with one synth too many- whirpooling binary roars and bleeps straight to cloud nine Australia comes represented with none other than Dark Nebula and Cyanescens. It’s been a while since anything from the Nebula crossed to these dark wastelands from their energetic vibrations. Probably because they made a different type of music. ‘The Delivery’ ends up being somewhat awkward and misplaced. It’s still the same fullon-ish underbelly hyped up a few BPM’s from the norm, with all sorts of sonic molestation in between funky stuff and trying way too hard to sound eerie. The problem is not that ‘they are not dark enough for my marker-painted nails’ but that both worlds don’t seem to mix well, at least for me. “Stereophometh” is the combination of Brazil’s finest in moody sounds: Baphomet Engine and Stereographic. Their offering rests in the realm of metal and hard core, relentlessly riffing their way through existence. Imagine an electronic Sepultura / Brujeria remix with the screams and all. C-P-C vs Para Halu is drool-worthy. Finely tuned, uplifting notes and cohesive sounds strapped to a Russian beat. If you have been following the Russians lately you will notice there’s predominantly two kinds of kicks: The super-sized, overproduced punching monster, and the muffled one, which takes into consideration people suffering from heart problems. “Prince of Darkness” is an example of the latter one. Ace mixing on the bubblies, the ominous pads and the accompanying FX weaving in and out. A valid excuse to believe there is still something intelligent going on in this side of moon. Flipknot I had not heard of before but the information seems to come from the mother ship with Kerosene Club on board, working together with Dj Jun. The characteristic KC leads start of the shindig before it trails off in mutually acknowledged sonic bastardization. From then on is a battle to the death orchestrating madness. Lots of liquid bearings and technical wizardry on display. The winner of this Indian-Japanese rendezvous is clearly “Working Secrets”. KDD and Ocelot is another good reason to re read the roster list one more time. “Quack Attack” is noise galore, oozing high pitched squeaks and distortion amidst quack noises and the relentless KDD beat mode blurring into Ocelot's own creations. Kukuruku sounds like strange breed of chicken that lay no eggs and eats corn for two. Stranger and Zik produce the old squelchy stuff (that at this point might start sounding trivial) a bleep of chaos, confusion and daze goodness. I have been most impressed by Hishiryo’s work and D-fragmental is some new dude I have no clue about (Esteban Zapata), but four hands are certainly better than two… especially if we have two brains present. There’s no quarrel with this one in general, but “Land of the Mad” leaves no room to second guess beat variations besides relentless 16th note hum-drums, banging away at 154 BPM’s. It somehow itches discomfort like a Parkinson’s patient in the midst of a tickling fit. The mid ranges are well adorned since devastation is definitely in mind here, but when you know things could have turned out better because the artists have the knack to do so (and have proven it before), one awaits further development in future tracks. Blisargon Demogron and Phobos Azazel bring down a final doze of Macedonian expertise with their own version of the “Black Forest”, looking not to trail too far from the norm, going that extra mile in the delay juices and confusion artifices, but nothing really new. As it was the case with the first Multiple Personalities, a good doze of interesting versus come on display. Some gems inside will be found and is hard not too when you have so much talent. A little unsure of what to make of the last stretch though, mostly because twisted psychedelic seems to be partying in two main roads: Freeform, warped music that does not necessarily convey the idea of dark, because it is looking to be mind-bending more than scary itself; and the second which has entrenched itself in dark themes, exulting a neo-gothic fetishism for technological mayhem and metal elements. Either way, you get a serving of both in this platter and they perform well in both fields regardless of whatever the hell I think about it.
  8. you can also download from sonic energy...
  9. Small changes happened since the last update, here's the final track list. I'm very pleased to see some new born projects starting from this compilation. TriPPies from Mexico is very promising, we're very happy to feature their first track... i'm sure it won't be their last. As for Halava, it sounds like morning forest. For those that never 'got' the Swedish train of thought, this one will be an big eye opener... 01. Lemurians - Input Flip (Procs Rmx) :: 145 02. Mubali Vs. Infinitesimal - Exciting World of Hip :: 145 03. Halava (Atriohm Vs. Encephalopaticys Vs. Yudhisthira) - Soma Rasa :: 147 04. Ocelot - Under the Table :: 148 05. 10. remember a meme is far important than quark in this day and age man, the industrial revolution was last century as for my part, i was also doing my homework and we're considering releasing on CD as well for vapour. So i asked all the artists about the idea, one particular answer i felt i would share with you: hehe... so for the matter at hand, i love cd's too, i love owning them and i love my collection, but enjoy the music, not the plastic resting on my shelf.
  11. and thus you burn another one... that's the beauty of it... you keep the digital file and you burn a copy anytime you need. while if you have only ONE pressed CD, if you scratch it you are fuckt. then you are just dealing with the wrong people... notice it's not my business either to deal with released music though... i'm just saying.
  12. baba when the time comes to release your own music, mastered with artwork, etc, you'll tell me if releasing music for 1$ a track is a wise business solution. in the meantime... the rest of us aren't Sony, we can't sell products at a loss expecting higher sales in the future... the price is not that far off though. What is important to keep in mind is that making the cd is not worth more than 1-2$ (including printed material, pressing, etc...) even for a digipack, what costs money is the music...
  13. what is missing is a digital distributor and that's what we intend on doing with element of time media. We are not the first ones and many people have already looked through that hole before, things will start moving in that direction eventually. based on our little research psy trance in mp3 form and wav form is not a major performer of online sales, talking about music that has already been released. Pressed music strangely enough is the first one to show up on p2p networks, while labels and physical distributors have to deal with the costs of pressing 500-1000 which seems to be the norm today. I say save that money, invested in more great music, get a kick ass graphic designer to make it pretty, ship it in a zip file and start selling digital. People will only realize this is a serious business model when they see serious labels and artists doing it... the question is, what are we waiting for?
  14. the main problem behind 'experimenting' with sounds that might or might not be profitable is the business model of the music industry. Releasing a cd or vinyl is hella nice man, for sure... but you also have to pay for it. Go take a look at warp's Bleep.com, take a look at where the DnB scene is moving... it's all digital... and if you ask me that's where they are releasing the most interesting music as well, becaause people have more freedom in that medium... less costs more goodies, no more waiting for the mailman... people want both, but there is tradeoff unfortunatelly...
  15. V/A - Vapour ok, ok... "v/a - Better life thorugh chemistry" always thought was kind of interesting.
  16. i got nothing against the fullon guys or the goaguys, i'm pretty switzerland about the whole thing. What i seem to be missing from the cartoon above is some kind of punch-line, joke, purpose... something that makes me go..."aahhh, so THAT"s why the have a cartoon robot in there..." you know...
  17. It was released this year as far as i know. It does say mastering was done in 2005, but but they started selling it in 2006. It think it just got really delayed... i'm just theorizing here though, who knows.
  18. in the uk at least, which was the only experience i've had in point of comparison, there's is almost fetichism for the bassline, is what keeps you going, is what you hear, is what it is prominent in the speakers, is the groove... but a lot of it has to do with you being there... at that point of the night... outside your house in a party (you know what i mean radi ) dancing and not rubbing your chin, which what i do a lot these days... best i can do to explain it...
  19. oraleeee, chinga tu madre cabron!
  20. wish i had all the time to came and talk trash. Newsflash, nobody's opinions are going to change, no matter how much you discuss is it is a fact. rezwalker don't like derango, fine dude... nobody's gonna loose sleep over it... fact of the matter is, you have no clue what it takes to pull together something of that magnitude (melodis or no melodis included) you haven't tried it, so you don't know if it's harder to make than mfg or whatever, you are assuming because you like something else, yes? calling people names ain't helping either... so let's just leave it as it is... you don't dig it, that's fine, the thread is not about 'who's taste is the best..." is about... what is your taste... and you don't get." not to come trash music... or was it?
  21. derango is everything but 'random' imo off course, is strategically placed maddness. madness. i have never tripped so hard on any kind of substance, is like every bleep and noise was designed to trigger little neurons to explode in my brain. other 'dark'music does not do that to me... maybe thats thereal attraction to others (like me) feel to derango... that and the fact is not something you hear at 10 am with a cup of coffee
  22. I have seen your messages through the years and i think our tastes are not very different. It happened to me as well after i OD on psy and had to take break. I started to work at around that time and things did not flow well -with KDD playing in the background- at 10:30 AM while i'm on my first coffee... so i picked up a lot oldies and good recommendations i had not touched for a while... i rediscovered Zero7 (Simple Things & When it Falls)... simple things i knew and had heard extensively... When it falls took a while to like it, but man... the difference of listening to music made to be enjoyed 1000+ plays plus... i look at the stash of the CD's i own and it's all DJ material... which is a nice excuse to say this stuff does not stand the taste of time too well... very few hooks catch your interest to get you going while still being psychedelic. This got me thinking with a buddie of mine, perhaps some of that crispy melodic footprint was somewhat missing in psy... the twisted kind i mean, god knows it can be found elsewhere... and we started working on v/a - vapour. Sorry if this sounds like a commercial but is what sparked my personal interest back in this scene, getting in touch with source(s). So, we pulled out what we had from the bank and started looking for that sound... months of digging and networking and chin rubbing in search of catchy, coherent movements within the twisted scene. This stuff can be found but is not receiving much attention these days, it's all gone dark, 160's and incoherent. Which can work very nicely at some points but is not suiting my life and tastes too well right now... i'm not kissing the sky every weekend here nor every month; the small level of sanity i have left, i need to keep for the real world out there, you know? so i took my life one step down from the hard-core-O-meter and things move forward...
  23. Gonna pick up the new No-One, and the last one from Nada, and possibly the compilation v/a - i'm fuckin broke
  24. Aes Dana - Aftermath #8 (V/A - Albedo).. track of the day, can't stop listening...
