  1. Hopefully it will arrive in time for Christmas week!
  2. Scream 4 is the distortion unit in Reason 3. Bit of a misnoma, I don't remember any previous Scream modules. Though Reason isn't modular so you get everything in the program... try adding a little tape saturation on your drums to thicken up the track, delay is always fun to do on a seperate hit to get a dubby effect. RV7000 is very powerful for reverb, I don't use the other verb unit any more, just is too basic. I'm trying to work on a new album, but this is hard for me - just going to keep writing tracks that have a 'theme' and something might come out of it. Also practically finished a new site which I could use for news and stuff, downloads etc. However I don't have any server space or any money to set up a top level domain... so might just have to get a free server (again). Sigh... Ah well. Hopefully I can get some more free tracks together if there's odd bits of music I'm not happy enough to put into my album.
  3. Great job Otto, I was very impressed with Radio Interstellar a while ago and this has much of the same qualities that I saw in that track. Progression is lovely, you just need to 'refine' I guess... ambience does the trick very nicely, spicing up drum samples with delay/verb/distortion/bitcrushing etc is quite fun too. Are you still working in Reason? If so, Scream 4 is brilliant for fucking up samples. Great job Otto.
  4. Impulse buy at HMV in town today... 3 for £20 on DVDs... * Aeon Flux (2005) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0402022/ * Butterfly Effect (2004) http://imdb.com/title/tt0289879/ * Firewall (2006) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0408345/ Really wanted to pick up Cypher too, but they were out of stock.. probably will buy that online.
  5. Oh come on Evan... Just because you don't like it doesn't make it rubbish. + No I'm not a fan of Simon's trance stuff under hallucinogen, but I can see the musicianship that's gone into his trance (though I still dig LSD). This guy recorded music in the days when software synths and factory patches weren't there...
  6. You got page 800! Let me see... Ochre - Sticklebrick Symphony
  7. It's definitely Secede alright - some of the tracks have a film-esque quality to it, he throws in the odd weird voice sample... but it's a lot longer than Tryshasla (IMO Tryshasla is more 'complete') and so you'll probably get more bang for your buck in that respect. Though I'd hurry if you want the disc, Merck is closing down very very soon - they're just really selling off their back catalogue (and releasing a couple of cds/vinyl in January) and then that'll be it, no reprints. Shame...
  8. I got the older Secede album, Bye Bye Gridlock Traffic, sounds very nice
  9. 14... 18 if you count actually programming the synth.
  10. Good news. His downtempo tracks (definitely wouldn't call them ambient) on The Art Of Being Non were superb. Definitely interested in more.
  11. Radi, you have.. what.. 5 artists on rotation? spinning: Landau - Thepicompromise
  12. Simon Posford has many aliases, but I don't know many others...
  13. 1. Androcell - Process of Unfolding 2. Vibrasphere - Tierra Azul 3. Abakus - A whole new way of looking at the day 4. Elemental Journey - The band from Atlantis 5. Carbon Based Lifeforms - Epicentre (First Movement) 6. Hallucinogen - The Herb Garden 7. Shpongle - And The Day Turned To Night
  14. Pitch Black, nice downtempo dubby stuff... http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display...ase.asp?id=5837
  15. Secede - Bye Bye Gridlock Traffic Not sure I like this as much as Tryshasla - though that has grown on me considerably (I only liked a handful of tracks up until a point...), but it's the first spin and sounds very like Secede... Can't wait for Vega Libre... it will make my 2007.
  16. Hot. Artwork by Marmelade again? No Altitudes track though You must get around to releasing an album from them!
  17. Rediscovering Ishq - En Soph today
  18. These two are okay... Chillogram I think I've listened to once, and the only things notable on the other one are the Capsula and Electrypnose tracks... Pick this up too: http://www.sendingorbs.com/content/artists/secede/tryshasla
  19. Yes, I like them, providing they're creative and do something different to the original.. Chillout remixes I like: Shulman - The Unexpected Visitor (Carbon Based Lifeforms Carbonator Remix) Shpongle - Crystal Skulls (Western Rebel Alliance Remix) - this one gets mentioned too often, but deservedly so... Shpongle - Star Shpongled Banner (Brothomstates Remix) Pitch Black - Ape To Angel (Bluetech Remix) Nada - Earthgarden (Abakus Remix) Ott - Escape From Tulse Hell (Tripswitch Remix) Future Sound Of London - Pretty much all of their singles where they have different versions of their tunes... Entheogenic - Pagan Dream Machine (Vibrasphere Remix) There's probably more too...
  20. Shaft

    HELP!

There's still some good psychill out there, but yes, fresh music is always best... been into IDM at the moment, snapped up some recs from Merck and Sending Orbs - if you can try and spin Secede - Leraine, that's definitely a great chillout track.
