  1. Ordered Hunab Ku copy 101. These arrived today as well (Vinyl):
  2. @ Lemmiwinks, thank you very much for your contributions, some of them were close in atmosphere, such as Icon - Desire (Icarus Mix) (although probably a little too fast and pounding), but the Virtual Symmetry track - See You was by far the closest, really lovely track that i've been repeating for a while. I would say it has been one of the only succesful matches i've had for this type of sound and i'm very thankful, it's so soft, so beautiful and heavenly Exactly what I was hoping for, do you know of any other similar tracks now you've pinpointed my request? I'm familiar with the other tunes such as Hello San Francisco etc, all amazing and classic tunes that do fit the description that i've stated, but aren't specifically the sound I'm craving, although i'm aware i'm asking for other tunes with sounds so similar to my tunes that, as you said, I may as well listen to Stella! @deepXcode, I agreed with some of what you said on principal, such as the hypnotic aspect of these tunes, but I think you were focusing more on the percussion, whereas I was more interested in melody and the softness and joyousness of the sound as well. The tunes you posted were too dark for my specific request, and without enough melody. Afrotrance's tune is an example of this, as well as the Three'N One Down the Hole track, very beat driven, not euphoric. (Still very enjoyable nontheless, I just mean in regards to this topic's specifications). @Procyon, those are all wonderful tunes that I will listen to extensively for sure, but they don't particularly match my specific request! I really am being very specific I know, but those tunes are too psychedelic for my requirements, the first and third are more like ambient in my opinion (lovely ambient) and the middle is too harsh and fast. Thank you for adding your input though . @needleninja, yeah i guess they are very well known, it's unfortunate that others didn't follow that style though, I could happily listen to a whole subgenre of this particularly soft and blissful early techno / trance, and I wasn't familiar with Brian Kage until I just investigated his EP, and I do really love it! At first I could hear its age, it's really oldschool detroit influences on the beat, but the soft and joyous synth is there, and the dribblings of sound effects are lovely. Very nice find, not exact, but very nice indeed! Thank you . Thanks everyone for their input on this most important task .
  3. I've just ordered my copy - #101, i'm so unbelievably excited, if ever there was a classic that needed a remaster it was this.
  4. @ Rotwang, very nice tunes indeed, i've listened to the Alice in Wonderland Remix a few times recently, but unfortunately I don't think these tunes fit the description. The Alice in Wonderland mix is far too modern and the Biosphere track is not quite emotional enough in its melody. Thanks for the response though. @Ormion, I can see why you posted the track but I found it probably too trippy and acidic. Parnophelia and Stella are more in the vein of classic trance and techno again with emotional melodies, and are relatively simple in their compositions, I also emphasise their lightness and soft aesthetic, while maintaining analogue sounds. Thanks for responding however, I do appreciate it!
  5. I have posted a thread with Parnophelia in before, maybe a year ago, asking for reccomendations, but unfortunately none of them were similiar to the track. I want the really oldschool, soft synth, hypnotic techno aesthetic! I'm desperate for it because Parnophelia is one of my favourite tunes but apart from Stella I've heard nothing like it.
  6. Your description is relatively difficult to follow because of the inherent subjectivity of music, but I think you're talking about Goa with a lot of space in the tracks, and is largley just trippy sounds. Here are the tracks i've interpreted as being good according to your description: Juno Reactor - High Energy Protons Gumbo - The Quickening Ominus (All Tracks) The Infinity Project (Feeling Weird Tracks)
  7. Vibe Tribe Bizzare Contact Ephedrix Ananda Shake Anything mixed by John 00 Fleming Basically you are looking for the subgenre of Psytrance called "Full On", and most likely Israeli Full On will appeal to you most. Hope this helps.
  8. Double Dragons is my personal fave, one of the first tracks I remember playing on repeat for days, it's an absolute screamer. In a very close second is Let's Turn On, and then Angelina after that. Yeah Doof was absolutely sick.
  9. Agreed 100%, oldschool hard acid Goa, what's not to like? Just recently started off a mix with this tune, into V.T.O.L (posted in the mix section), works very nicely!
  10. The last one is my favourite by far! I do a fair bit of drawing myself, I might upload mine
  11. Hi, I don't know if this is the correct section to post mixes, if not feel free to move it. This is the second mix I've done so it's still undoubtedly quite rough but it's a big improvement over my first one (which is also uploaded to my soundcloud for anyone who's interested), and i'm just looking to spread it around and get some feedback from some fellow Goa heads. http://soundcloud.com/ospindoctor/a-v
  12. Very interesting drawings and a lovely unique style, nice!
  13. I've always toyed with the idea of getting this quote as a tattoo: "House is what you live in, Garage is where you park your car... Goa is what they play in heaven." But it's such a commitment!
  14. I've always thought of Psynews as one of the most specialist of the psytrance & Goa forums because of its focus on actual Goa trance and not full on, this is why I post here but it's also why it's less active; Goa is a really obscure style in terms of Trance at large let alone EDM. Facebook is probably the way to go to attract more members, or possibly an online chat function that only members can use (that would be really cool anyway and strengthen the community). Or have a larger Goa trance mix section, we get a few people to contribute, youtube the mixes, link to Psynews for more.. just an idea!
  15. Colorbox - Train to Chroma City is my favourite Goa concept album; the forceful, driving sound really imitates the emphasis these guys put on the journey aspect of their music, as well as the samples etc.
  16. That was my favourite psytrance song for about a year, it's so perfect, the visua remix isn't too shabby either!
  17. The Mystery Of The Yeti is indeed one of if not the best goambient CDs ever! It's a V/A though..
  18. Celtic Cross - Hicksville Makyo - Vismaya Sri Hari - Rising Sign
  19. Bought this in HMV, I was absolutely stunned considering it's usually only the most mainstream of records in there, so obviously grabbed it without hesitation. Yeah it's really really good.
  20. Oh man I love that track, still play it quite often, it's perfection.. For me it's this oldschool techno track that just lifts me up:
  21. Penzoline, that looks like a damn good camera! And Ion1zed, that pic from Japan looks very nice, rather mysterious and intruiging. I haven't taken any photos in a good few months, should get back into it again, but here are some of the ones I recently uploaded (all of them but the first were taken on a trip to Morocco):
