Yes, yes ... they are already nearly too many ... if more people are in that store you can't turn around
-
Milky Way Records ... lol, I was there some weeks ago ... well, the CD section is not too big, just two shelves (it's actually a clothing store too and this one's bigger ) ... but you can find some nice stuff there. Meanwhile they must have got a restock (especially prog AFAIK), the guy told me he'd get one but I had not enough days in Stockholm to await it Be careful about the prices though, a CD there costs 199 Kronas, that is relatively expensive... I too can recommend a little second hand CD store in the "Slussen" Subway station area ... I forgot the fucking name of the lane, but it's when you go up one of the staircases up the hill at Slussen (you can't miss that) and behind the first row of houses there should be that lane if I remember correctly, if not it might be the second, but it's not far away of the staircases ... that store is chock full with CDs (you can find everything there, psy included, I heard he should have an even better vinyl section, but I didn't check it out) and the guy has a sellout (at least he had one as I was there ), you can find many good CDs for a cheap price there!

POSER! ... and a very stupid pose it is ... fluoro versus paladin sword ... fucked up this world is... Gothdamn!

well, that's the point... I can't see either why a tape should have such thing as a "sampling rate" ... I say it's like vinyl, only magnetic and not mechanic! A continuous stream, no sampling. Sampling is digital. Cassette tapes are analog - like vinyl... Detailed info would be appreciated though... I don't expect any tape experts here - music nowadays isn't on tapes anymore, it's CD and Vinyl... Yes, Cinos ... we all know that dusty vinyls don't play well, that is because the signal is represented in physical state - tiny engravings on the record ... dust alters the physical way the needle goes - therefore the sound gets worse with time... CDs don't have that ... but the sampling rate isn't high and therefore you don't have the original frequencies! Vinyl have theoretically the real frequencies!

some S.U.N. Project stuff... they did a really good live show with many metal guitar pieces in Vienna this year

Wow, this is extremely well put. I had to quote that. That's the essence for me. And that's also what I don't like about Shpongle and why I like Entheogenic much better...
-
ENTHEOGENIC. My mind doesn't get Shpongle ... it's true. And Shulman is similar to it and ... urk, I can't stand that, sorry ... but I like Shulman more than Shpongle at least. Entheogenic all the way for me. Spontaneous Illumination is a great album!

Okaay ... now here comes a big question: Many of you surely have heard of the discussion Vinyl versus CD, that CDs have a bad sampling rate and only vinyls actually reprodruce the true original sound because they don't have a sampling rate/it's infinitely big. (people who are not familiar with this might be interested to look here: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/question487.htm ) However, my question: what "sampling rate" do cassette tapes have? Do they actually have any at all? I mean, the information is stored in magnetical way and such ... but how is it represented? Are the values of certain frequencies transmitted magnetically? I don't think so. In fact, I really become more and more of the opinion hat it would be logical that the cassette tapes present information in a way similar to vinyl - only not mechanically, but magnetical, thus I come to the conclusion that they too have an infinitely big sampling rate? Anybody can enlighten me? DON'T tell me what pwnz more, I know tapes might be lame because they lose quality fast and such yadda yadda, but I just wanna know about the sampling rate - if tere is any... please...

I do not know Etic so well, only one track from a compilation ... but judging from its sound and the fact that rain described it as "fullon with progressive elements" it's IMHO not appropriate to compare Lish with Etic. Lish's Free Fall is completely progressive to me ... good progressive indeed, but it's not like Etic. Not at all...

ask him what he thinks the scene is developing to ... and if he thinks that it's a good thing... and ask him where he sees the world of psytrance in 5 years...
-
Awww... Spirit Zone biting the dust? That's one of the least things I expected ... I first thought it's a joke, that's why I never looked in here ... come on, they were a big label and had some nice artists ... Shiva Chandra, SUN Project, Ooze ... and their Global Psychedelic Trance series was even avaliable in commercial stores where you can find Bravo Hits and shit ... how come that they go down? *shakes head* ah btw ... where can I still get such sellout CDs ... anybody knows?

okaaay ... if you define MOS as minimal then my vote clearly goes to minimal - because even MOS sound quite maximal to me at times... Mmmh ... actually something in between is okay too ... maybe even some maximal at times for special high energy moments ... but overall seen I'm more on the minimal side
-
would be cool ... I'd really be interested in what you would think of Smiri Se for example
-
Koxbox for me. They are ... just my wavelength. They have so much experimenting and such a cool forever changing sound... Hallucinogen n all that other stuff is so psycho to me ... Koxbox not, maybe a bit, but it's much better than with the rest...

You probably "just don't get it" as you say it. Seriously. My favourite tune - well ,this is already beyond favourite as this tune is so magical I find it totally impossible to put my feelings to words as I heard this first and still I can feel this wonderful magical feeling when hearing it - is SMIRI SE by Matenda and that's actually nothing other than beatless ambient for it has not a single kick nor a single bassline bit. Just floating. Yes, that's it ... the beatlessness makes it sound floating, like if I was flying or if there was energy flowing ... gently, steadily flowing flowing, no harsh breaks or any beat, nothing, just the flow of energy, just this great flow of energy which will forever go on and on ... the cycle of life actually ... and ... well, I'm going too far already... You just don't get it...

Nhjo, please tell us what you are on
-
Oh yes, believe me, three years ago I was thinking exactly like you now, hehe... Meanwhile I like metal music really much. Something triggered in my brain. Something important. And I love both metal and psy now However, man ... you must start to see it from a different point of view ... you complain about metallers dancing bad - well, that's because metal isn't for dancing! Metal and psy are two totally different energy patterns if you know what I mean. Just like Brighter Death Now would appear to you like a stupid annoying ten minute noise (at least that's the case with me) other people hear incredible things in it. It's just ... a different sound. Some people like it, some not. That's it

Rainstick is not bad. But my favourite Antix track is Can't Quit. This "Daaaaaaaaa-Daaa-Daaa-Daaaaaaaaaaa" in the background got me ... damnit, I can't quit!

We pay 285 EUR for the Interrail ticket ... we had to take two zones, because only when we take two zones we will have the ticket for 22 days (otherwise it's just 16 days and that's too few!). But because of that we dropped the idea with the flight (too expensive anyway after all) and will go up there by train as we took the denmark-germany zone! Yes. By train. All the way. We will take about 25 hours on the train just to get to the southern border of Sweden. Sounds fun, ey? Phew ... I already see it, it will be like two years ago (it was exactly the same two years ago except that we didn't have a sweden zone and weren't there much ) ... and we will be totally fed up. Totally. Wonderful ... haha Many thanks for the tips, Ukiro Yes. Yes. It will be a very very long ride. I already see it coming. We want to go up until Kiruna (actually Hammerfest and Nordkap might probably be too far up - we need to go down again and we don't just wanna sit in a train, you know) and then go back down on the norwegian side. That might be a cool trip, but it will be looong (and there's also the fact that we will be hyper fed up with trains as we go up there and down there by them (stop laughing, we can't afford flying)... Concerning the weather I guess I better take some smaller parts with me (longsleeves) than big stuff (fat pullover and big jacket) ... I can always put on more...

Hello (this is actually related to my post in the OT section ... I was an idiot ... sorry mods if I have now two threads *blushes*)... So ... I want to go to Sweden. And Norway. And maybe Finland too. I'll go by Interrail, with a friend ... leaving maybe sunday or monday... So ... has anybody any tips for me (as there are many scandinavians around here)? Good places to visit (nature and cities) / cheap stores (metal and psy welcome ... any "flea markets" maybe?) / good cheap restaurants, bars / general tips / areas where we shouldn't go / clothing tips (climate)? Anything serious welcome! (I don't plan to go to parties BTW!)
-
That's the point. Many artists nowadays try to get their money from live gigs because there isn't much potential in albums anymore because of the p2p networks. But on the other hand this is the argument of the p2p downloaders. "They make their money with live gigs anyway..."

Crackers. Not hackers. You both refer to crackers.

Come on, that can't be true. $570 for an album ... that's ... a joke! You can't even pay the amount of Red Bull drunk during producing the album with that. It's ridiculous! I don't care about Michele's music, but hey, that's a really bad rip off from Agitato. Think of the time and money invested into the project!

I rarely listen to anything while I'm driving myself, except on the autobahn I sometimes turn on the radio to be warned of traffic jams. But when I'm in the car and somebody else's driving I quite like to listen to some music. Mostly trancy stuff, it shouldn't get too psychedelic. Something like Human Blue, Matenda, Lish, Vibrasphere or maybe Setherian is good...
