  1. Well; I haven't heard tihs yet but as I was really impressed with Progression, Widescreen & Revive, I should probably really love this?
  2. same here: I like Behind Closed Eyelids, but apart from that, it doens't do anything for me...
  3. Interphaze: Moove to the Groove on ZMA rec's, the first 4 trax especially. Very smooth, but without losing that pumping drive that makes up the difference between prog-trance & prog-house. Pretty addictive ZMA is a Greec label & they are my tip on the up&coming proggy stuff. Check out some tracks by Heliotrope & you'll know what I mean. Apart from that I'm pretty curious about André Absolut's full album, coming out on Vertikal Records some time soon... Keep an eye open for this man, if you're into Plastic Park-stuff
  4. Damn right! One of my all-time favorites. Still sends a chill up my spine! "The beat that cannot be denied"
  5. In the same way, a lot of progressive acts have evolved too. & many people who really liked Haldolium, X-dream or SBK back in 2001 think their current music sucks! But what they fail to see was that this people were always trying to do something new & therefor wouldn't & couldn't keep making the same stuff for the last 4 years. That's why there is so little so called "minimal" od "psytek" coming out these days & so much "dark psy" imho. The feeling behind those styles of music is the same, I think. So enjoy the music of yesterday but always keep an open mind (or ear ) for the music of tomorrow! Or maybe you're just growing old, Rain ?
  6. I really like most Necton tracks I know. Too bad they are mostly linked to "Beverly hills Cop"... It works, but it still is a psy-song based on a Hollywood-blockbuster Tracks like Slowmotion are way better (& more original ofcourse) As for their typical sound, it often involves a very bouncy kick (like From here 2 yr Ear) & that's enough to get my ass shaking

Prooved vol2 on Plastic Park Rec's Playground on Iboga
  8. Not just the tracks are special to me, but they also are linked to a certain moment when I was listening to them. Exploring Angkor Wat in Cambodia around sunrise, listing to the first Shulman album (on acid ): damn near one of the most intense moments of my live... I think this picture paints a nice story: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/10900720/ (fav track playing on the discman: First came the stars! the cut-up voice-samples especially) Exploring again, this time the power of the shrooms at 15yrs old; listening to the Orb live album from from 93 (fav track: Little fluffy clouds, solid tempo, even dancable when played loud enough) . Finally sliding into a well-deserved sleep after countless heavy parties with my girlfriend already asleep next to me, Ooze gently playing in the back (fav track: Restricted Flow, pure musical beauty, the whole album sounds like a forrest of electronical animals) & ofcourse the slower version of People can fly, which still gives me goosebumps every time I hear it...
  9. We will do our best to come! Bim is always nice & I'm told Oli OV & Tomtron should be exactly what my booty is looking for
  10. I for one REALLY enjoyed the Urban Legends-compilation! Finally discovering some new acts like Rai Keep up the good work...
  11. In my opinion progressive trance is more "open" music. Instead of a massive wall of sound, it is characterised more by building tension & subtle changes. Generally speaking, a lot of time & effort is put in the sound as well. In the beginning a lot of this music was very dark & agressive with a strong minimal techno/industrial feel to it. No surprise that lot of it came out of Germany It was probably just a reaction to the fluffy, melodic goatrance of that time. As Sherlockalien mentioned today luckly progressive comes in all kinds & colors. Just compare an early Son kite track to a recent one. As today's top prog releases are nearly all mentioned here, I would like to add some oldies: SBK - Treibstoff (2001): This is considdered a milestone by many & was definatly an inspiration to a lot of today's artists. To me still simply the best! Shiva Chandra - Gecko (2002): still one of my all-time favorite full-albums X-dream: Radio the beginning of the new style / Irritant: very hard PSY-TEK Atmos: Headcleaner: the king of subtleness: boring to some people, fantastic to others (like me) Also an important difference for me is that proggy tracks can grow on you, al most ripe like fruits. Where as a guitar-track or & simple catchy melody will sound great the first time I hear it, it will get pretty boring by the 3rd time. Albums like Freq or Frogacult just get better every time I listen to them
  12. Thnx for finally clearing up one of my most unresolved Enigma's in the field of psy-trance!! This is absolutely my favorite too. I can just imagine the words coming right out of his mouth...
  13. I think the Ooze album is probably one of the best chill albums EVER. Therefor I really regret not having the original cd, but only the mp3's. I allready mailed Seb to ask him if it was still available somehow or somewhere, but as he was probably way too busy making some more fantastic music, I never got a reply. So, maybe I'll have to ask the experts in here?

    Ticon

Considdering Aero was my favorite album of 2003 & there are so many kick-ass releases on their way: is there any date set for this one yet? Cause I'm pretty sure it's gonan be another must-have. Good to see that there are still artists who take their time to produce an album...
  15. Simply one of my favorite albums of last year! Most full-on stuff sounds fucking great the first time you hear it & then just a little less good every time I hear it, upto the point that I'm totally sick of it This just keeps getting better & better: unfolding more & more small sounds every time I push it in my discman or stereo. Pretty timeless music, if you ask me...
  16. CD 1 is just brilliant! I like pretty much every song! Except the 777(exit23): Big NoNo! Cd2 starts out good, but the second half sucks; I bought this one cause I liked the first one, which is probably a little better. Does anyone know more about Mindfield, I really like their trax

    SUN Project - Guitar Trax

If you've seen Sun-project "live", you know they can make every party explode heavier than the most TRANCED-OUT,KEYBAORD-STOMPER or DJ ever could! The album is very cool, but not 4 Goa-purists. If you like Psy-music now & used to be into Guitar-stuff when you were younger, CHECK this out!!!
  18. I'm not the all-knowing-Belgian, but I really liked this cd, especially cd2. I bought Blast Food album by Spirallianz, REALLLLY HEAVVVY SHHHITT!
  19. This was one of the very first goa-compilations I ever bought: this one started the whole thing for me. Especially cd1 is very addictive, you'll want to hear it over & over again. X-dream & Colorbox are PSYCHEDELIC at its best. If you disagree, let me know. Belgian Boy
