  1. Sticky on the meeting point seems logical solutions, cause of the lack of line-up. Or in case that fails, you just look for a girl with this on her back http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/11973871/ She shouldn't be too far away from me... EDIT: sorry man, I meant this one: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/20021940/
  2. hey wOp, maybe we can arrange some meeting @ VooV ? Could be a good time to discuss that Element-debut-cd Or just fool all the Psy-baba's into believing we're Evil Drug Lords who will not tolerate this kind of competition ? Bottom line: if you can, take care of your own needs, so you won't be hassled & ripped off..
  3. Not psy but absolutely slow, dark & scary: "At The heart of it all" an Aphex twin rmx for NIN. To be found on "26 mixes for cash" or "Further down the Spiral" If I would play a chill set at night, that would have to be in it. Scare those pussy-trippers all the way back to the dancefloor
  4. That all a matter of personal taste right? What really makes them stand out for me is that they are a live BAND making trance. They also have an am-a-zing drummer. & sometimes a singer too rather then just sampling a vocal from some movie or something Their new album should be out in July on Avalanche Rec's On a much lesser note: "We are the world, we are the future" by Analog Pussy : psy-trance with vocals the way it should NOT be imho any more recommendations?
  5. Well, considdering on previous editions there were ppl yelling out what thet were selling to anyone who passed by their tents, I don't think they'll be looking for the "end-users". It's so funny: even before you could get out of the car or finnish setting up your tent there would be some Isra-guy comming up-to-you:"Hello my friend, how can I help you?"
  6. Now THERE's an example of how Progressive trance with vocal should be done The only thing is, you shouldn't pay too much attention to the lyrics, cause they're not always Nobel-prize-material. For me it's more about the sound of the voice & the emotions that come with it...
  7. for the original-junkies: Apparently you can find it on V/A "Doubble Dipped" on Boom! rec's For me it was the last time I let any substance get the better of me I might often have been out-of-control since , but in the end I could always convince myself "Everything is gonna be allright in the end!" & it always was
  8. Just to participate in your little debate: Logic Bomb surely did some great tracks, I just wasn't too crazy about them. & if you think Biosphere isn't trancy, check-out "Novelty Waves" at top volume. They even played that one in the clubs here in Belgium at that time... Trying very hard to get back on topic: I love them Germans Sebastian Krueger: Very influencial German Producer. With Tarsis he kinda made the groundwork for what later would become the more minimal side of trance. Under his wellknown SBK alias he wrote Progressive history with the debut-album Treibstoff on Spiritzone. This unique blend of slower progressive beats & yet very psychedelic sounds spawned many copycats. IMHO it was so succesful because this style of progressive had climaxes, thou not of the melodic kind but more percussive. Perfect morning music because there was a melodic structure that did reveal itself completely until after 2/3 of the track. Being a proffesional sound-engineer, he als did a zillion rmxes (Druids-Symphonix) Recently he shifted into more clubby tech-housy-territory with Kruger&Coyle & the latest (3rd) SBK album. He now also has his own record-label Avalanche Rec releasing quality progressive houese & trance. Daniel Vernuft: AKA Shiva Chandra, also member of Auricular. Mr Minimal! Has been around since forever, faithfully releasing on Spiritzone. First stuff was kinda melodic, but he really exploded in the Minimal trance wave of 2001-2003 with albums such as Auricular or my personal favourite Gecko. Dark sounds & pretty bass-orientated, nearly no melody but instead samples of gecko's, crying childeren, slamming doors, basicly anything Nothing uplifting, but highly dancable & very groundbreaking at the time. For me he remains one of the people who first got the idea that psy-trance could evoke more emotions than just smiley, happy faces. Too bad the men who broke all formulas in those days is too affraid to experment these days
  9. MONOlake hey? If it's Basic Channel-stuff you prefer to chill out to: try the Rhythm&Sound-compilation "With the artists": the same neo-dub music but the rasta-vocals make all the difference to me. Monolake isn't bad, but their "music" always seemed a bit too arty-farty for me & never really grabbed me. & just so you know: Maurizio kicks Monolake's ass all the way back to Berlin, my friend This is a PSY-forum so I didn't feel the need to elaborate on my non-psy-preferneces Although it's really nice to see that there are still ppl with open minds & ears in here. PS: I only have the 2003-album by Grey area & prefer it above Monolake any day
  10. "1 flame war comming up!" It's very normal that you have special feelings for a paticular artist or album because YOU had special moments or experiences about it. If you listen to it only half a much as I reckon you do, you've surely been brainwashed 10X by now But it wouldn't hurt you to be open to other ppl's views and/or suggestions. Now I for one have NEVER been into Sponghle. OK, I can enjoy some tracks & for me Behind Closed Eyelids is their best track. But-like-it-or-not: not everyone will share your blind adoration So if YOU ever had a strong mushroom-session on Shulman or the memory of traveling in Thailand & Cambodia with Ooze on your discman or making love to an ex-girlfriend with Grey Area in the background, maybe you'd have a different opion too? This thread proves clearly that you're open to some good music that Simon is not involved in (I hope ) so just accept the fact that not everybody has the same taste, mate! Do yourself a favour & check out something totally NOT your taste from time to time, might discover something new you end up liking even more...
  11. FINALLY! Somebody took the words out of my mouth Shulman, Ooze, Grey Area, OTT... but that's all personal taste ofcourse
  12. Got this only yesterday cause I enjoyed the mp3's so much. The fastest & most melodic new cd I bought in some time. Great energetic tracks with a lot of fitting samples to. Especially the one's that aren't in english give a nice touch to the tracks. Think I'll enjoy this one for some time to come. Fav's: -Myth of an angel (think they got some parts in there from Paul Van dyk's "For an angel"?) -Consiousness: especially the cut-up vocals when there's an ultrashort break & Irrational Impulses I saw them live @ VooV last year & they rocked!
  13. Yep, that one was pretty high in our Belgian Top 30, I guess almost 18years ago. At least when I personally hadn't reached the age of 10 a true classic...
  14. Doubble purchase yesterday: I bought "Open" from Kooler (housey Son Kite side project) for 8.75€ in a secondhand-shop & couldn't resist to get something a little more agressive too. So I also picked-up "Avantgarde" by Tegma at the Kairoo Rec's BBQ yesterday evening in Antwerp. Great fun & solid music!
  15. Anything you'rel ooking forward to EP ? Just out of curiosity...
  16. Setsuko is still alive, he sometimes drops by our site in Belgium. He's concentrating on graphic design these days & he's finally admitting what I told him years ago: he likes (progressive) house ! Personally I really miss ppl like Freak51 in the review-section too. What I don't miss are those "GOA is GAY" or "Fuck your mother in the ass, Progressive-Pussy!" comments
  17. Alteration, the new cd by Element on Avanlache Rec's !!
  18. Great that everybody can get hold of an original cd of this chill-out masterpiece! I don't even mind having "wasted" a cd in the trade: jus tthe memory of opening the parcel will stay with me for years to come Go buy it!
  19. Looking forward to this one very much! Maybe a even more my cup of T(rance) although I enjoyed Limelight a lot too... Is Prosect the guy who's also on this forum?
  20. Shit goddamn! were you there? This was the closest I ever came to getting so seriously fucked up it might have had longterm effects. Must have been around 1999? Hadn't taken anything for 2 months of studying & exams & then went for it immedtiately after the exam was finished, carried on during the day (january so not outside) tried to eat something in the evening (hahaha, nice try), then went to a techno party where I consumed no more then before my 2 month-break & THEN went to one of the nicest squat-psytrance-parties ever in Antwerp. After a coupple of hours I could not communicate with anyone except 1 friend who had to "translate" what everyone said & who I later tried to convince that I was really a TREE (no shit) I Also couldn't stop pressing my girlfriends nose & making a sound like a honking car ("TOET") & then Aorta played a track with the "Paranoia-paranoia-paranoia"-sample & for the very first & nearly last time I had to give up. My friend was swinning his walking stick (had a accident earlier that year) in the air screaming PARANOIAPARANOIAPARANOIA & I was 100% sure my girlfriend was making fun of me behind me back (couldn't blame her) so I just ran out side Only recently found out the name of the track, DJ's: try it at full volume around 4:30 at any party & see what happens
  21. if anyone would like to make a trading offer for this one: PM me
  22. Found out it's included on "Avalanche of sound vol 4".
  23. Do you think succes is impossible through originality? Or do you just prefer the easy way?
  24. I'm with you on that one. After 3sec's you know it's a necton track!
  25. can I catch this on any compilation out there? Never been a dj & never will
