My Weird Takes on Goa and Acid Techno

I think you forgot to mention the track names that you are referring the time to, if you want to sound clearer you have to use software that sound clearer, this days all the DAW's achieve a good sound quality, but you need to choose good synths that sound clean and even there you have to tweak the synth to achieve a quality sound for the bass for example then at least you have to use sidechaining compression between the kick and the bass, use a decent delay with ping pong effect and lower the reverb effect, use the delay and reverb as a send effect to save time and the computer resources if you use samples use ones with good quality, everything you use have to sound clean to achieve a overall clean sounding use an equalizer in the master bus to cut every frequencies below 30 hz with a low shelf, use one compressor to work as a glue compressor to work like a glue to all the track elements below the equalizer in master bus as well, I find you tracks pretty creative and experimental you are on a good track, you just need to gain experience in getting more sound quality, and structure, if you follow some more regular structures you will start getting more people who will say that like your sounds, but you don't want go commercial keep searching and exploring in your own way, until people will start to enjoy you own style.- 7 replies

Hi, My daughter and I are currently in Albuquerque, USA, and we spent the last two days with @Jon Cocco, Psynews member since 2001, as I'd mentioned here. Jon is known for his EXTENSIVE reviews, that you may read here: https://www.psynews.org/forums/profile/523-jon-cocco/ Although we all have our jobs and occupations, we've been reflecting on how Psynews changed our lives, and the lives of many other people. That's where I met @Anoebis @Skytrancer @tbe @Filteria, Ubik, Tequila, @moni and many many others as you know. Last time I'd come to the US, in Y2K, I'd also stayed at another Psynews visitor and Goatrance fan's place as well. Jon was so kind as to call me when I was recovering from my cencer bac in 2013, and I'll never forget it. So yesterday we visited ABQ and Santa Fe with Jon and his lovely wife Mary. It took 20+ years but and Psynews made that possible!

VA Transmission (compiled by Absolute Hypnotic) Listen 2 tracks, pre-order digital and CDs: https://globalsect.bandcamp.com/album/va-transmission The Goa trance scene has always been a constellation of diverse streams – old-school analog purists, modern psychedelic explorers, new age hybrids, forest dreamers, and full-on freaks. Yet on the dancefloor, those divisions melt. Beats speak. Minds sync. Bodies move as one. This is the spirit behind Transmission – a visionary compilation curated by Absolute Hypnotics, and fully performed by some of the most respected, genre-defining artists in the global Goa trance community. Each track in Completed by Absolute Hypnotics is a reinterpretation of our original music – filtered, transformed and reborn through the artistic lens of a different master producer. It’s not a remix album – it’s a collaborative reimagining. Every artist brings their unique sound, their history, their tribal code – while staying rooted in the shared source. Transmission is more than just a compilation – it’s a sonic statement. It’s a deliberate attempt to bridge the fragmented streams of Goa trance, and to present them united – just as they truly are when experienced on the dancefloor. From retro analog warmth, to new school layers and hybrid psychedelic textures – this release covers the entire frequency spectrum of Goa. Each track is a message, a transmission, a unique signature of sound – but together, they form a singular pulse, a journey, a story about connection. Let the past, present, and future of Goa trance merge into one. Let the tribe feel the signal. Let the Transmission begin. Tracklist: 1. MFG - New Horizon (Remix) 2. Astrogano - Babadook 3. Wonder - Mysterious Way 4. Absolute Hypnotic - Gods Provision 5. Raziel & Fiery Dawn - The Keeper Of Secrets 6. Laughing Skull - Highway Ghost 7. Goasia -The Matrix 8. Alpha Omega - Breaking The Matrix 9. Too Much Data - United As One 10. Divine Signal - Transmission Label: Global Sect Release Date: 31 July 2025 Mastering: Space Cat Compiled by Absolute Hypnotic

My Weird Takes on Goa and Acid Techno

Thanks. There are certainly things I would improve but I had spent far too long on this one, so onto the next. I love it up to 1:42, then the second synth pattern sounds a little harsh don't you think? Then from about 1:58 to about 3:20 it's just deliberately weird and experimental - maybe too weird or maybe not weird enough? Anyone else got any feedback please?- 7 replies

Too Much Data - T.M.D HOM-Mega Productions – HMD220 One half of MFG, Aharon Segal has teamed up with Chen Shmuel a.k.a. Atmik for this new Goa trance project. 1. Too Much Data – Deep Happiness 6:54 2. Too Much Data – Breaking Rules 8:00 3. Too Much Data – Runing In Circles 8:23 4. Too Much Data – Do You See Stars 7:26 5. Too Much Data – Change Of Direction 7:45 6. Too Much Data – State Of Mind 8:25 7. MFG – To Eternity (Too Much Data Remix) 8:32 8. Too Much Data – Circus Of Life 7:27 9. Too Much Data – Tmd 7:34 I am putting this up as a mini review for now so that others have a chance to listen and add their own reflections, as I am short on time currently. I need to give it a few more listens for it to sink in but my initial impression is extremely high quality sounds, loads of nice acid combined with the trademark MFG slightly dark sort of robotic sound effects and some great melodies and hard beats and basslines. When you have been saturating your brain with as much Goa as I have, it becomes difficult to rate new content fairly when 95% of it is slight variations of sounds and patterns you have heard thousands of times before. But paradoxically, if you are like me you will still find yourself seeking out these classic sounds over and over again. The way I rationalize it is someone who reviews classical music can't really complain about being sick of the piano, if that makes sense. Anyway, this album has loads of the classic acidic Goa sound. I find it very easy to listen to. It does not at any point get irritating and even the more generic bits are not boring. If I listened to this with a fresher pair of ears I would probably rate it nine out of ten or higher, so it is good stuff. State of Mind has some catchy synth melodies and voice samples and is one of the tracks I enjoyed the most. Circus of Life has a nice bassline, some lovely bubbly acid and a delightfully rough drum beat. I may add some thoughts on the other tracks when I get some more time. Overall this is an exciting album and I will definitely be listening to it a lot more. Provisional score: 8/10 https://hommega.bandcamp.com/album/t-m-d

My Weird Takes on Goa and Acid Techno

Check out my new Goa Trance track based on an Indian raga. The Poorvi raga is 500 years old and now rarely performed. It has a mood of mystical contemplation. This starts out as a 131 bpm midtempo track before rising to 145 bpm and finally returning to the slower tempo to complete the cycle.- 7 replies

Hello, I didn't post since a while by here, the time when i used to post nearly weekly reviews here is past... I told this since i used to contact this artist when he released his debut album, so i still got a nice package with cats from japanese post with his postmail, DM me if needed (i tell this in case some people would like to contact him to honor his memory. it seems Draeke from DAT records was fan of him according to Discogs, i think it's possible Chamar got some unreleased stuffs & maybe woulb be nice to released them today. I remember finding 2 unreleased tracks available on his website at the time : Hepoco & Yamabico.) If i post today, it's beause i just learn the death of Kazuhide Toda according to Discogs it's due to a traffic accident on 7 October 2004. You may know him under his artist name Chamar, a japanse artist from the suburbs of Tokyo. He was also the head of Tod Aquarium records founded in 1997, a label releasing japanese goa-psychedelic trance artists such as Jikooha and himself Chamar. RIP 😇 François/LLB
