easily this one is number one for me! the first game I would sit back in the options menu and just play the music 8)

and OMG this one too 8) the entire soundtrack was weird and DOPE! This game you could change the song in options and I always set it to this.

this one would creep me out but I find it beautifully haunting now 8)

All of Jet Force Gemini. one of my top 3 favorite N64 games. I was the first to upload a walkthrough of the game before Youtube had every game ;p

lastly, never played the game but a few years before our arcade in the mall close, some version from this series still had a cabinet there. I was near the machine when I heard acid style music playing and just crazy stuff! I got near the speaker of the game and was just freaking out it was too good. so I looked on youtube one day a few months ago remembering that day and found this killer song!

so happy to see Banjo Kazooie posted ;D I was thinking of it. Thats the very first game soundtrack I owned as a kid. Maybe once did I ever listen to the entire cd. I just know I wanted it ;p still probably have it stored away someplace. but yeah, the whole game has good music. Rare was the shiznit back on N64. Banjo, Perfect Dark and Jet Force Gemini are my 3 favorites on the system.

If you would like to hear the guy who wrote that music exchange profanities with two gamers for an hour then this is your lucky day:

Nice thread. Sooo many great songs. I love the Castlevania music as well. I never listened to the Machinarium OST, so that was a nice surprise.

I'll start with something old:

The whole Last Ninja soundtracks, be it 1 or 2 or 3, they are just so fantastic...25 years later, even with all the technology shit available in today's computers, only few soundtracks are on par with those masterpieces.

The fact that there were stellar tracks just for the loading screens (!) make those even more unbelievable.

Probably, Final Fantasy 6 was the best FF ever created. Arguably, it was the most magical of them. But for sure, it had the best score of the series. And that says a lot.

Without the music, the Silent Hill series would have been only half as good.

Probably the best game soundtrack I've heard in recent years, Michael McCanns score to the great Deus Ex: Human Revolution is just something else.

YES! I AGREE! The trailer for the game with its serious content and music backing it up, is what got me interested in this game. Then I got the game and it delivered on that. I do love the soundtrack very much ;D

Yes, I thought that the soundtrack added a lot of atmosphere to MW2. Lots of pathos, but still good.

Some more oldschool stuff - boss themes only!

Thunderforce IV - Evil Destroyer (Mega Drive)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYPcte3BlPw

One of the best OST of the 16-bit era, imo.

Metal Gear Solid - Psycho Mantis (PS1)

Spooky stuff and an awesome idea by Konami.

Panzer Dragoon 2 - Last Episode: Guardian Dragon (Sega Saturn)

Such a great theme...makes the battle in the skies feel that more epic!
