Perfect. Really. Perfect. Every track. Flawless. Trip Tonite. I love the

remix yet nothing beats the original. Possibly the best down tempo track

ever. My first 10/10.

I heard microdrive years ago, but it wasn't until last year that I bought this

album. It is a great ablum full of quality sounds and hypnotic arrangements.

What people don't understand is that just because it's dated doesn't mean it

can't still be good. It means the listener isn't listening correctly or

doesn't know how or maybe doesn't know how to appreciate it.

Finally this was reproduced... So i got my hands on it and whoooow... This is

just a great big par of the amazing history of goatrance! - All tracks are

quality and it's a joy to listen to this masterpiece in one row! But Chakra

Active B misses a little to be at the same level as the other tracks! - and

that is what drags this album "down" to a 9/10

Yes... this is very good. This is a damn good old classic album with the right

kind of vibes and psychedelic atmospheres. Good thing it's being re-released

because everybody needs this one. 9.8/10

it's an awesome cd. definitely took me a while to get

into, but once i did, i couldn't stop listening to it. (party droid still gets

on my nerves though...) anyway, goes highly recommended, very intricate and

layered and some really nice melodies, if you don't like it at first cause

you're used to other types of psy just give it some time... i'd still

recommend checking out a pleiadians album first though. some of the tracks on

here are a little old sounding. but screaming butterfly, z plane sunrise, and

trip tonite are real masterpieces... 9/10

As sometimes is with older releases, and then particularly the later your discover them, you have to work with them to get the full impact of them. I find Alien Protein such a release. I don't hear nearly the complexity here that I hear in nowadays cutting edge psytrance releases and thus need to hold my breath when putting this album on. Little by little, however, I will then be able to border the Etnica bandwagon. And what a beatiful midnineties goa voyage Etnica is then laying ahead!

Overly melodic, simple, upbeat, happy and cheerful, but without any cheesy elements, Alien Protein comes across as one true, happy attitude rocker. It may sound simple, but as is with simplicity it can come across so very insisting, and when done the Etnica in their prime kind of way, never more so. Tripping on this is one hell of a nostalgic bliss taking me back to the very early goa days. And that's about the time when an album holds all I'm looking for. Highly recommended to fans of midnineties psytrance.

Fav's: Screaming butterfly, Z-Plane Sunrise, Starship 101, Deep East, and Trip Tonite.

Somehow this managed to pass me buy in 1996 & for many years after which is strange seeing as I loved pleiadians. I eventually bought this just a few years ago & never really listened to it. That was stupid. After dusting it off (not literally) a few weeks ago I've given it a few proper listens and I can say I really like it. This album has aged wonderfully. It's nice melodic old school trance. I prefer the pleiadians albums but this comes pretty close.

Screaming Butterfly is quite noisy & is probably what put me off when I first listened to it, not the best track on the album.

Chakra Active 8 has a great melody, lots of fun.

Party Droid is a little faster sounding pretty good

Z Plane Sunrise is great, driving & melodic, one of my favourites.

Microdrive is very psychedelic

Starship 101 is a very nice track, nice energy & sounds

Deep East & Trip Tonite finish the album with really nice downbeat tracks. Both favourites.

I can't say anything much that hasn't already been said. Chakra Active 8 is the weakest track, which is actually quite an impressive achievement. I listened to I.F.O. before I ever heard AP. I had high expectations but was prepared for the worst. I was not let down, i picked it up and got into it instantly, this grew on me quicker than any other music and is still highly enjoyable. Starship 101 and Screaming Butterfly will have you stomping like a madman, while Z-Plane Sunrise is a psychadelic mind f***. Despite the simplicity of some of the sounds, there are some very clever and affective pieces of music here, they are masters of rhythm, mutating the tempo at will it seems, especially in Starship 101.

All quality, Z-Plane Sunrise would be my favourite, 10/10.

Got this about a month or two ago .. its definately top class goa .. the music just drifts and chuggs .. simply melodic and never a dull moment .. deeply engrossing at times .. some of the tracks remind me of jikkenteki i dont know why :) which says a lot about the production of this album. Way ahead of its time considering it was released in 1996 .. i can imagine enjoying this one all the way through.

Favourites are Z-plane sunrise and microdrive!
