  1. Artist: Various Title: Highoctane - Frenzy Inducing Psychedelic Electronica Label: Procyon Records Date: October, 2003 1. CPU - Laptop Orgy 2. Monastic Squid Vs. Shift - Suit Up (Remix) 3. Illusion of Self - Spectrum 4. E.S.X.S. - Electryk Mama 5. Nomad - X-style 6. Psysex - Fast and Furious 7. Wizzy Noise - Acid Echo 8. Dynamic Vs. Z-machine - Side Effect 9. Silicon Sound - The Shell The title of the compilation would have you visualize something like this: When in actuality this would probably be more appropriate: It starts off well with a track by CPU before he succumbed to whatever palsy that overtook his ability. If you're able to make it through the beginning of Elektryk Mama without wanting to punch yourself than you're a better man than I. Ugh, that sample. By the time we get to Psysex we are on a full-on waterslide without any water. Painful. To sum this up it's a compilation that starts off with that described frenzy only to quickly morph into a cat falling into a deep sleep as it attempts to cross a sunbeam.
  2. Artist: Ovnimoon Title: Trancemutation of the Mind Label: Ovnimoon Records Date: July, 2013 1. A necessary tool 2. Quiet my mind 3. Hooponopono - Ovnimoon with Lupin & Edit Ballai 4. Superlight in the darkness - Ovnimoon with Via Axis 5. Transmutation - Ovnimoon with Pragmatix, E-Mantra and Nova Fractal 6. Sat Nam for me, Sat Nam for you 7. La Danza Espiritual - Ovnimoon with Spirit Architect 8. Learning 9. Power of positive mind - Ovnimoon with Lyctum I've got wood! What did you think I meant? Yeah I'm rebuilding the front porch so I had to hit the big box hardware store. And by rebuilding I mean watching my friend do it as I carry the tools and nails. Then I gotta clean up. But I can tell you this... I think I'm in love. You go through life listening to music hoping you'll meet that special album, that group of tracks that has melodies that go on for miles and more than enough groove in the trunk. And when she says I love you back (Hooponopono), well then, you know you've found the one. Ovnimoon is Hector Stuardo and he runs the Ovnimoon label which has given so much. I mean c'mon, they seem to throw a record out there like every three days. But we forget that he's also an accomplished artist who walks that fine line between psytrance and progressive. Walks it? He backflips across that motherf*cker. Floating and drifting melodies, thumping beats, thick layers of lush atmosphere, and a pair of goa tracks that he shoves right in your face. Yeah, get some! But it's not just two tracks, the goa imprint is all over this. If goa was mud he just tracked it all over you f*cking living room. This is how you do psytrance. Hell this is how you mix goa, psy and progressive to make a brilliant album. It is so utterly rich and detailed you can throw out the old playbook because this is next level. The old rules and cliches no longer apply. This is Tales of Heads awesome and easily one of the best releases of the year 2013. Cue mic drop cause this is a game changer. Psyshop Mdk
  3. Artist: Various Title: 10 Years As Free Spirit Label: Free-Spirit Records Date: March, 2017 1. Cylon & The Wayfarers - Castles Made of Love 2. Invader - Twelve Sessions 3. Ital - Ganesh 4. Hypnocoustics & Alta - Diesel Story 5. Tron & Journey - Funktion Juan 6. Braincell - Network 7. Earthling & DSP - Kiss the Sky 8. Savage Circuit - Which Way Is Anjuna? 9. O.C.D. - Sense of Knowing "Have you felt it?" Yes, it feels like I just took two Tylenol PM with a side of propafol. So bored. Who took the psychedelic out of psytrance? Full-on beats with few exciting or even nap rousing moments. Twelve Sessions was eleven too long and I think if Ganesh was listening to Ital's track he would tell him he left the f*cking sequencer running. This generic, same sounding, patch sharing music is like punching a steak. There is no feeling. As you would imagine the best track here is by Braincell with his juicy, liquid sound, but expecting one man to save this narcoleptic compilation is like expecting Trump to save democracy. This should come with a warning label not to operate heavy machinery while listening. Beatport

  5. Artist: Shift Title: Phoenix Label: Spectral Records Date: November, 2015 1. Surface Detail 2. Fkn Awsm 3. Doorway to Infinity 4. Phoenix 5. 2 Doesn?t Ants 6. Inversion 7. Go Low 8. Null & Void "Today's drugs truly work miracles for young and old alike." Get some from that guy. Looks like he's got plenty. Now I would never advocate someone taking drugs, but perhaps he could maybe start with some Red Bull. The first two tracks sound like a very sanitized version of the music he used to make. Gone is the barely restrained chaos and thundering kicks and in its place is this commercial sounding music. This doesn't sound like Shift...This sounds like he lost a bet. Or he's trying to put his music in a box and it just doesn't fit. Thankfully it's not all like that. The title track is a bit of a smasher as is the Ants one. Get Low has some of that Nexus Media magic he used to display so effortlessly. A mixed bag really, but since it's a digital release on Beatport you can choose the good ones. Welcome back Mr. Hoy! 6. Artist: Xerox & Illumination Title: XI Label: HOM-Mega Productions Date: September, 2005 1. Night Shift (Remix) 2. Ghost In The Machine 3. Battleship 4. Paranoia 5. Soul Control 6. Funkenstein 7. Assimilation of Reality 8. Astrix - Oranda (Final Mix) 9. Bottom Line 10. Xerox & Illumination with Chakra - 7 Days (Etnica Remix) ""As I was going up the stair I met a man who wasn't there!" C'mon where else can you hear a track that has an excerpt from an over century old poem along with an Animal House sample? Nowhere, that's where. This duo has been around for a very long time and deserve to be called rocks of the psytrance community. For me this was their best album and they took full-on in a very dark, industrial direction when it was (some may say still is) wallowing in its own generic swamp of mediocrity. Thumping beats along with wailing leads make this a fairly eerie listening experience. Battleship is an absolute monster. They take a break from the haunting full-on with Funkenstein which is more of a techno, big beat track. Not great, but I like to see artists stretch themselves on occasion. There is even an Etnica remix! Everybody loves Etnica remixes, right? Well, maybe not this one. It's kinda boring. But overall this is a good full-on album that rises above the swamp. Beatport
  7. Aloha. I am new to psytrance production. This is a link to my newest track. Please drop some feedback and follow me on soundcloud if you like what you hear.
  8. Artist: Various Title: Manga Vol. 2 Label: Yabai Records Date: March, 2009 1. Painkiller & Lost & Found - Digitized 2. Digital Talk -Acid Test (Mindcore Remix) 3. B-55 - Miracle Hour 4. Orca - Wire Trip Remix 5. Lost & Found Vs. Frozen Ghost - Rapture 6. Azax Syndrom - Hokuto Shin-Ken 7. Winter Demon - Twisted Image Remix 8. Bliss - Etnix 9. Toxic - The Prayer 2008 Edition "What happened to the portions?" Sometimes you just want to get to the meat. F*ck all that bread nonsense, give me the good stuff! But see, eat like this guy and the airlines will have you paying for two seats. Yabai Records has taken an extended hiatus ( I hear they're going to resurface digitally) and I liked to think of them as Timecode East. Same pumping, dark and melodic psytrance that gets all the neurons firing. The first installment (Review here) was pretty good whereas the final volume (review here) was a flaming sh*t show. Consider this compilation the goldiilocks of the trilogy. Kinda. The true meat is in the middle with acid everywhere; high tempo banging stuff. It's the beginning and the end where things get a little moldy. Painkiller should've never come within 50 feet of Lost & Found and I think based on previous output we knew Azax and Bliss were going to cheese it up. And...they did. Oy vey the build ups and samples! Toxic would answer my prayer if he would cease and desist all construction of this type of music. This is why I said kinda just right. Like the first one some good tracks, but not enough to hunt down a copy.

  12. Artist: TRD Title: Lucid Dreaming Ep Label: Chaitra Records Date: November, 2015 01 - Drip (145 BPM) 02 - Scripture (144 BPM) 03 - Lost Rite (105 BPM) 04 - Kingdom Within (115 BPM) 05 - Koloss (144 BPM) 06 - Lucid Dreaming (144 BPM) Swede Par Carlsson has done it again. His debut back in 2014 Apostles of the Universe hit all the right notes with me and with his latest he's continued down that path. Super atmospheric layers and thumping good psytrance. Bubbly and melancholy, Lost Rite snakes along at mid-tempo speed dark and brooding. Kingdom Within does the same starting off slowly then eviscerating what you think you know about progressive/psytrance. The whole thing is a deep journey that one can truly get lost in. Highly recommended. Free at Ektoplazm
  13. Title: V/A - Spectral Resonance Label: Phonix Records Cat no. : PHODIGI018 Format: Digital download Release Date: 2nd June 2017(Beatport 2 Week Exclusive) World Wide Release: 16th June 2017 Mastering: Track 4 mastered by Sebliminal Productions, UK All other tracks mastered by Dale Byl @ db Mastering Studios, South Africa Artwork by Paulo Etnarama Resonance is the phenomenon whereby a sound played at just the right frequency, the resonant frequency, is amplified and manifested physically in neighboring objects. The greater the resonance, the greater the amplification. Deejays Space Byrd and Ishikawa sought to explore this phenomenon of making objects, particularly people, move through sound waves. Over a year in the making, the two worked together and gathered talents from across the globe - South Africa, Brazil, Portugal, United Kingdom, Mexico and Spain - to create the ‘Spectral Resonance’ experiment. Their experiment starts with Contrast's (South Africa), 'Hear Myself Thinking', a slow introspective groover that helps open listeners’ sonic receptors receive resonant frequencies. Once completed, it is time to experience ‘Intensity’ from the combined forces of the legendary Killer Buds (Brazil)and Corrosive System (Brazil). Things take a spooky turn and the transfer of sonic energy reaches a perfect resonance. What follows next is amplification, with the help of Infektion’s (Portugal) epic, ‘Legacy’. It is at this point that listeners start to feel the dancefloor zombie within taking over. A moment of clarity is introduced through Systematic Audio’s (UK) ‘300 Years’. A serious monster that helps explore the primal force that is sound. Not to be outdone, Phonix regular Omega Flight (UK) pushes this idea further with his ‘Revenge of the Fallen’ - a mechanical exploration on the power of resonance. It is time to level up, an apt point to introduce the newest member of the Phonix Records family - Terrorbyte (South Africa) - and his explosive ‘Legend27’. Sinister vibes laced with haunting melodies, sonic control of dancefloor zombies is complete. Ctrl Z3ta (Mexico) and Dj Meskita (Portugal) next take control to turn dancefloor zombies into unrelenting dancefloor robots with ‘Robocop’. Phonix regulars Psycho System (Spain) further resonate with subjects to infuse them with their hypnotic ‘Dark Essence’. Ctrl Z3ta’s powerful remix of X-Avenger’s (Mexico) ‘Serial Killer’ continues to play mayhem with listeners’ sonic receptors. As the experiment approaches its end, Space Byrd and Ishikawa begin to ease listeners with a dose of ‘Gravity’, a psychedelic beast from Singularity (South Africa). With the help of master Akros (Mexico), energy levels are carefully fine-tuned with the unrelentingly groovy ‘Kronos’. Leading us to reflect on our findings, Aquedeux (South Africa) helps realize the ‘Conscious Symbiotic Evolution’, the realization that resonance is a journey of minds – those of the resonators, and of the resonated. The Phonix Records crew thank the featured artists, friends and fans for the continued patience and support. We are proud to continue our mission of showcasing proper twilight psytrance and share with the world our vision of the genre. Come experience with us - Spectral Resonance! TRACKLIST: 1. 16. Made a new mix for the annual Kentucky Derby Festival Mini-Marathon (and full Marathon but only someone like my brother is crazy enough to do 26.2 miles :wtf: ). The race was delayed 1.5 hours due to storms in the area, and I wound up taking the race out too fast in the first 7 miles and struggled between walking/running for the last 6. Seems to be a trend in my races these days. I need to learn how to control my pace so I don't burn out like that. Perhaps my depleted energy stores was also a side-effect of the delayed start time. Anyway, the mix was better than my race. Big time trance melodies and high-energy psychedelic attack sequences, all flowing together for a powerful 100 minutes of quality electronic dance music. Pretty happy with this one. Altered State - Hypnotic [Yellow Sunshine Explosion] Zyce & Shake - Gravity [TesseracTstudio] Ascent & Norma Project - Shining Crystals [Geomagnetic] Ecosphere & Electit - Society [Parabola] Flowjob - Alice In Orbit (Magnus Remix) [iboga] Inner Sphere - Night Shade [iono] System E - A New World [Digital Nature] Ilai & Sonic Entity - Dmt Perception [iono] Vertical Mode - Lucky Number (Symbolic Remix) [TechSafari] Christopher Lawrence & No Comment - Horizon [Critical Overload] Magnus - Sonder [Critical Overload] Moon Tripper - Let's Find A Point [JOOF Mantra] Spectro Senses - Fundamental Experience [bounce] Bowdidge & Taylor - Sidewinder (Harmonic Rush Extended Mix) [Monster Force] Makida - Human Evolution [24/7] Makida & Eeon - Cosmic Expansion [24/7] Moon Tripper - Selenophile [Yellow Sunshine Explosion] Reverse - Ultima (Magnus Remix) [Critical Overload] SoundCloud art credit: jp-talma download link: Ziptnf - Atomic Structures (1:40:45) 232MB ~320kbps Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwLay-K1p34EUTFDSmZhd2pibDg/view?usp=sharing
  17. Artist: Various Title: Analog Charon Label: Plutonic Records Date: November, 2006 1. Sattwa - Too Much Time 2. Tryambaka - Violet Violence 3. Miditec - The Prophecy 4. Technodrome - Whale Talk 5. Psychoz - Imaginary Friends 6. Blisargorgon Demogorgon - Victory of Jafar 7. N3xu5 - Mutilation 8. Iron Madness - Death is Coming (Rmx) 9. Miditec - Crystal Vision (Norik & Redax Mental Rmx) "It's not unusual for a traumatized child to create imaginary friends." There is nothing in this compilation that will occupy a fraction of space in your memory banks. I liken it to a business major who strays from his ordered curriculum and decides to take quantitative analysis because there are a few hot chicks in that class. It is comprised of dark tracks that are either darkpsy or dark full-on, but regardless of which is which it's easily forgettable. No highs, no lows, just...a constant medium humming. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I would say it was full of mediocre tracks, but that would require me to remember what I just listened to. It's comps like this that shove the sword in the heart of dynamic music just a little further each time. Available at Beatspace for less than 2E, but doing something better with that money and give it to charity or a homeless person.

  20. Artist: Phatmatix Title: The Divine Comedy Label: Yabai Records Date: December, 2008 1. Babylon Circus 2. Labyrinth 3. The Punishment 4. Beyond Reality (Live Mix) 5. The Void 6. Dominator 7. Hominus Nocturna 8. Melodreams 9. In Tenebris Ah I miss music like this. Unfortunately I don't believe he is making music any longer (same with the label sadly) and that is a great loss. Dark, evil, and hard hitting this is what nighttime psytrance should aspire to be. Phatmatix is Stephane Rault and his music is similar to another Frenchman called Concept. This is serial killer clown atmosphere with futuristic implications. That opening downtempo introduction drips with fear. He then launches into minor key acidic madness that continues the pervasive eerieness. This music lives and breathes and like a vengeful spirit it hunts. Grand and thematic in its depravity. I didn't care for his third and ultimately final album Eternalis, but this one and his debut Sorcery nailed it. I'd link to it, but since the label disappeared any of their releases have become quite difficult to locate, leaving one to the Discogs market.
  21. Artist: Sidhartha Title: Reverse Mode Label: Metatron Production Date: May, 2005 1. Reverse Mode 2. Motion Detector 3. Mars Arrival 4. Inner Voice 5. No Worries 6. Physical Form 7. Sudden Shifts 8. Deep Sonar 9. Psychotic Behaviour 10. Dance With The Stars Nuno Santos has a long history in the psytrance scene and is well known as a purveyor of the hard hitting acid style. This was his debut album that unfortunately is showing its age. It's dark full-on with plenty of psychedelic sounds and lasers, but lacks the punch and bombast of his own later work. The bass lines are a bit tiresome and most of the tracks sound very similar. Not really an enjoyable listen. But hey we all gotta start somewhere and he eventually turned it around. Beatspace
  22. GoaTree really delivered on this one: what do ya think? I love the track :-) https://goatree.bandcamp.com/track/cell-connections
  23. Hey there community, This is a long shot, last week I was at Babylon fetsival in Australia and heard(From the back of a campers truck) this incredible track. The only real info i can give is a 2-3 minute build up of spanish guitar playing in a way that sort of tricked you into not knowing when the kick was about to come in. I can really only liken it to'Juno reactors Conquistador part 1' track. However it was without the vocals but very much with the spanish vibe. When the kick came in the song clearly had that proggy sound. Any recommendations would be great. Or if you are thinking "How the heck does this guy expect us to figure out which gosh dang song he is talking about" then any recommendationsof tracks with that sexy spanish vibe to it would also be appreciated. Much love, happy hunting.
  24. Over 4 hours of psytrance For some years I am fan of psytrance music, I made this mixtape for personal use. The point is that it took me A LOT of time to create it and I want to share it with the world so others can enjoy it too. Usually I release my hardstyle tracks and mixes on this account. Now it is something else: Psychedelicate Mix; a journey through music that starts with a more progessive sound at 136 BPM that is building up to 150 BPM and a bit harder side of psytrance. This mixtape contains around 4 hours of music, all-in lossless (WAV) quality, the highest audio quality ~ to free your identity. I hope you enjoy it as much I do it myself. <3 Tracklist in description
  25. Hi people, I thought I share a new track with you, although it's not finished [at least when it comes to mixing/mastering]. It's called JBB!
