Curiosity is one of the greatest forces of human beings and has given motivation to further learning and experience through our evolution. Humanity has been through numerous places in space-time and spirituality, some more inaccessible than others. Some of this Space / Time seemed unapproachable but we managed to pass through them. There are times in the journey that may stack in a swamp, in a jungle, or in a desert and when someone needs a boost, this comes from curiosity. We have curiosity to see what lies after the swamp or if next to the jungle we can find a meadow, if there is an oasis in the middle of the desert and what lies behind the veil… This is the story of an exploration. A Forced Exploration ABOUT THE ARTIST: Satyr Iasis is Dimitris Zindros from Greece. 3. Album: Ubikvad Omniheita Artist: Spruce Genre: Forest, Darkpsy, Experimental Size: 335MB License: CC Price: Free and Donations Track List: 01 - Wahdat Al-Wujud (10:11) 02 - Tzimtzum Samioza (9:12) 03 - Das Herz Dialektik (13:39) 04 - Fu Shang De Fei Di (13:43) 05 - Sensory Mirage (8:11) 06 - Advaita Gita (12:58) 07 - Rgyud (11:34) 08 - Ya-O-Yorozu No Kami (10:52) 09 - Yggdrassil Ormurholur (10:06) 10 - Matryoshka Fraktali (8:01) 11 - M (7:24) 12 - La Nausee (10:06) 13 - Yarindin (25:27) 14 - Comhbhailigh Eigrioch (20:35) Through the distant fields of the universe, unknown spectrums of ever-increasing intensity and roaring chaos coexist with a single thought, an idea containing different perspectives across multiple dimensions. This vision contains a soundscape of strange, mystic terrors crashing into stars, engulfing matter, and erupting into something our world has never seen before. Some call it insanity. Others call it brilliance. Whatever the case, its unique, a legend beckoning everything and everyone to fall into its welcoming grasp. This is Ubikvad Omniheita. Ubikvad Omniheita is a very advanced, Psytrance album that takes any listener on an epic, three hour journey through unconventional and extremley original sounds and beat patterns. There is simply no way anyone can expect what comes next. Using over two hundred different electronically programmed instruments, psychedelic artist Spruce takes us on an absolutely engulfing experience through his mind. Distant melodies, chitter chatter of crowds, and in-your-face euphoric and heavy bass lines are scattered amongst the perfectly pieced together tracks, all put together into one brilliant masterpiece. In David Falao Gjølstad's last album, "Origin," we were introduced to a new, very strange style. People compared it to the works of Psychovsky, but noticed the music developed into something completely different. People loved it, earning the album a 95% rating on Ektoplazm, a critically announced psychedelic community offering hundreds of different albums spanning across 20+ psychedelic genres in the current eastern electronic music movement. Even though his previous release was awe-inspiring to producers everywhere, he somehow managed to create, yet again, something even better. Brain screwing layers of interesting percussion soundscape buildups, intense movements of growing and developing synths mixed with beautifully composed pads, voice samples of strange creatures chatting amongst each other in the distance, quirky lows and highs shooting off into every direction against a wicked drum evolution, and enveloping communities of highly mastered and thought out art are splattered onto a wonderfully done canvas, crafting together the very passions expressed by Spruce. Tribal, dark, vicious, strange, beautiful, harmonic, chaotic, progressive, unexpected, heavy, light, engulfing, relaxing, atmospheric, exotic, addictive, and epic are only a few words that come to mind when I take a listen to this incredible collection of professional done journeys. It is impossible for me to talk about every song in here. There are multiple intros in each song, building up different vibes and moods that can either collapse randomly and move onto something else or melodically adjust into an organized structure. Then, all of a sudden, sound without definition erupts from the darkness and obliterates your prediction on what you think is going to happen. You will be surprised and delighted at every turn. Even as a sound programmer, there are times when I have no idea what the hell is going on… and I fucking love it. If you want to start off with a sample, listen to the track "Rgyud" (11:34). It has a bunch of stuff in it. Orchestration, ambience, heavy dark bass, light and beautiful pads, exotic arps and oscillations, and much, much more is presented in there. I mean my God, I can not understand how anyone can come up with this. It is truly is ingenious. The next track, "Ya-O-Yorozu No Kame" has a more recognizable soundset, nesting in a steady danceable pace. It makes my body move and my head think. Even with a more conventional progression, this track still offers an undefined genre. Is it Trance? Is it Darkpsy? Is it Bluegrass? I don't know. All I know is that this guy has made some really fantastic tunes. As a DJ, I am going to enjoy giving the crowd a surprise with this one. Oh yeah, and the outros and transitions your going to hear from each track will blow you away. It takes a lot of time and effort to really appreciate this album. There is so much to explore. So much to understand. So much to experience. I can not fully express just how incredible I feel this album is. I am taken on a roller coaster of emotions, feeling happy, scared, sad, and eager all at the same time. All in all, its feels amazing. There is no way I can really express everything in this album. You have to listen to it for your self. An ingenious composition awaits, go out there and download it. I recommend listening to one song a time, taking it all in and breathing a bit before moving on. This is not for the faint hearted. Listen responsibly, the frequencies in the FLAC format are everywhere, and you can hurt your ears if you listen to it all in one sitting. Get ready to hear things you have never heard before. Your brain may not know how to take it. Enjoy, and feel the music. 10/10 Download here on Bandcamp (MP3, FLAC, WAV) - Review by FatKidWitaJetPak (Nick Sumbles) - Special Thank to Bandcamp for the download bandwidth.

  8. Edda - Synthetic Forest Album: Synthetic Forest Artist: Edda Genre: Forest, Darkpsy, Psycore Label: Anomalistic Studios Size: 54MB License: CC Price: Free and Donations Track List: 01 - Grímnismál 02 - Valkyria 03 - Fenja In a vicious war, a golden paradise slowly burned and dripped down the desert dunes. Helpless against unknown forces, the astronomical collective of sky scraping pyramids was buried deep underneath the hot sand as if it never existed. The violent explosions of black bubbling tar from the hellish swamp erupted over everything, staining the surfaces of their existence with a thick tar. People screamed as the fire ripped the flesh off their very bodies like bullets on a battlefield. Stretching their arms high into the smokey sky, their pleas were silenced by the almighty creatures that washed over their world. The pyramids sank deep down into the yellow abyss bellow, taking the entire tribe into its isolated grave. The once proud Grimnismals had vanished into lands unknown, leaving nothing behind but an untold legend shrouded with mystery and chaos. Years passed as the moons above turned day into night. The land below became rich with a strange alien soil. As the distant galaxies sat stagnant in the purple night sky, plastic trees and metallic fungus curiously sprouted from the ground. They towered over the sand to create mazes of unnatural phenomena, blitzing a series of exotic beings into the barren world. The synthetic forest gave birth to a multitude of abominations. Laughing, screaming, yawning, crying, and beckoning, they chatted amongst each other to plan taking over, multiplying in unsurpassable numbers to morph reality into sheer terror. Soon, there would be nothing but tangled branches, slimy entities, and darkness. Edda had come. In a progressively evil journey, a trilogy of captivating frequency developments known to us as Grímnismál, Valkyria, and Fenja evolves into a darkening terraform. This terrifying soundscape is meant for trapping willing visitors in a moment of euphoria, changing your dreamworlds into nightmares. With layer after layer of twisted bass textures, electrifying synth arpeggiation, and organic overtures, Edda’s Synthetic Forest will take you into worlds unknown. Although it will be a short journey, it is certainly impactful for anyone interested in jumping into the universe of Darkspsy and Forest. Shattering realities, the hypnotizing tracks are quality, paying close attention to the mastering and interesting progression into higher levels of sound. Something tells me the artist needs to produce more than just three tracks, however. If you enjoyed it as much as I did, send him your regards so he can step behind his instruments to bring us more of his musical interactions. This is an awesome addition for any listeners darkpsy collection… but I truly wish there was more to be offered! Keep injecting the darkness into sound Edda and bring us more addictive tracks like you did here. 9/10 Download here on Ektoplazm (MP3, FLAC, WAV) - Review by FatKidWitaJetPak (Nick Sumbles) - Special Thanks to Ektoplazm for the download bandwidth. - Special thanks to Ningura for her Artwork.

  10. Shux - Garbage Marmalade Album: Garbage Marmalade Artist: Shux Genre: Forest, Darkpsy Size: 129MB License: CC Price: Free and Donations Track List: 01 - Ygg 02 - Kitty Batter 03 - Call Your Mother 04 - Glued 05 - Skep And Skein 06 - Noname 07 - Use Your Head 08 - Xylem At every corner, expect very different progressions far off from your typical music theory. Lead by a large set of strange, exotic, and industrial sounds, Shux offers a unique and interesting experience down a dark, psychedelic road filled with layer after layer of fitting voice samples, ever-changing bass structures, and immediate and unexpected quirkiness that can either take you on a trip or confuse you. Sometimes, there are a lot of high frequency climaxes that can really explode the track from heavy dance patterns to a simply twisted and upside down journey. The artist moves every idea with a series of nostalgic or totally new sounds, ranging from an original kitty frying experience to what I believe is Zelda. A large soundscape of powerful textures and awesomely-crazy synth arps surround these recordings, lifting your mind up a mountain of shadowy trees and colorful rivers. The best part about this journey is the fact it offers a well mastered, quality set of always-different tracks. If anything, you shouldn’t expect the usual styles presented in Darkpsy or Forest. Garbage Marmalade creates this awesome style, a style that can tear apart our perception on reality. I am going to definitely play this in clubs. As a DJ, I constantly search the world for original material. And boy oh boy, this is original. I thoroughly enjoy the sudo-three-dimensional concepts that experiment with the X, Y, and imaginary Z axises of sound. Put on headphones and you will hear what I am talking about. Everything revolves around your head and zooms straight into one ear and out the other. Garbage Marmalade is going to zap your brain into oblivion. There are some great, five star tracks here that truly make me say “What the actual fuck is going on” and I love it. If you enjoy being bemused, bewildered, confuzzled, or possibly traumatized by energetic, encompassing, and intricate worlds, this album is just for you. The style is overflowing with creative darkness, using synthesizers to paint an active, astronomical forest into a wicked soundscape. I would strongly recommend any forest lover dive deep into this ocean of magic. Its definitely interesting. You will hear alarm clocks, cats, bubbles, and a whole lot of other stuff. A truly original way to utilize the everyday sounds we hear, yet this album turns them into something entirely different. 10/10 Download here on Ektoplazm (MP3, FLAC, WAV) - Review by FatKidWitaJetPak (Nick Sumbles) - Special Thank to Ektoplazm for the download bandwidth.
  11. Romeodark – Shadeflower Album: Shadeflower Artist: Romeodark Genre: Darkpsy, Forest, Psycore Size: 165MB License: CC Price: Free and Donations Track List: 01 - My Travel Into The Deep Sadness 02 - Snow Walkers 03 - Terra Of Cold 04 - Aural Hologram 05 - Crystal Save U 06 - Good Bye Night 07 - Hospitality 08 - Hysteria 09 - Intro 10 - Psynesthesia After listening to a lot of Psytrance, the typical intro with an expected forthcoming beat gets old after a while. I am always searching for that extra bit of spice to be added, craving a different mixture of heart throbbing ambience to start the mood. First impressions are sometimes very important, especially for an album meant to introduce doors of opportunity, opportunities that can lead listeners into a very rewarding journey. Romeodark – Shadeflower will delight any psychedelic enthusiast, building a series of wonderful tones and a mixture of light and dark to bring you a slowly building forest sound set. The beat keeps coming and going, accompanied by constantly changing, yet harmonic paces. It is easy to get lost in the music, and it will make you smile with a nice touch of euphoria. True forest is learned from experience rather than definition, as described by Ektoplazm. It has taken me a while to truly understand what that means, but this album has helped me understand that its more than the BPM and music theory. It has to do with the journey. Its about how you can close your eyes and climb through every dark and light corner of your mind as the vibrations in your ears twist and turn your reality into a deep, subconscious self-realization. It can take a while for this to happen, but this album is a definite must for anyone searching for this. I can feel myself growing to understand more and feel more. It opens minds. The composition is extremely unique. There is more than just dark beat patterns. There are melodies passing through every minute, offering a multitude of emotions and expressions. From the artist, in my perspective, I can feel his travels through depression. Walking through snow, staring into seemingly nothingness while trying to search for hope, only to find confusion and chaos. It is almost as if he is begging for others to listen and feel what he is. What words can not describe, his music can embrace. It is certainly up to the listener to interrupt what all of it means, but the great thing is it can mean anything. All in all, it simply causes you to feel… well, anything. The artist plants a seed into our minds, and then it explodes into a pretty awesome creation. Diversity at its finest is sewn into every stitch, neatly putting together a colorful and complex organism. This singularity, this album, is one of those “top of the charts” but “underrated masterpieces” that you have got to slow down and experience. Every piece is vastly different from one another, ranging from 150BPM to 200BPM. when Jellyfish Recordings say his style is like no other, they really do mean it. Download this right now and get a mouth watering taste of true psychedelic juiciness. 10/10 Download here on Ektoplazm (MP3, FLAC, WAV) - Review by FatKidWitaJetPak (Nick Sumbles) - Special Thank to Ektoplazm for the download bandwidth.
  12. Artist: Various Title: Forest Beings II Label: Biijah Records Date: January, 2012 01 - Nammah Ohm - Tibetan Lamas Chants (150 BPM) 02 - Cromaniac vs Drakphaser - Jump...Eeasy! (148 BPM) 03 - Aegolius - Twisted Dimensions (149 BPM) 04 - Hallucinated Hologram - Hallucination Trigger (148 BPM) 05 - Oculomotorius - Neurotic Plants (149 BPM) 06 - Goch - Reckless Tree (148 BPM) 07 - Seven Dark vs Lab - Psychedelic Connections (147 BPM) 08 - Ataro vs Babak vs Full Lotus - Id Monster (150 BPM) 09 - Shiva3 - Merrow (152 BPM) "We tend to see things other people can't see." Right. Of course you can. So...you're watching all the time then? Oh boy...that's embarrassing. For me the only way I can appreciate this dark forest trance is during the wee hours of the morning when the kids are deep in their sleep patterns and I can't get into mine. Down in the basement all by myself. I mean, it's not a basement like the horror movies. It's finished and very comfortable. Like a man cave. But in the darkness down here...I'm seeing sh*t. The basses are deep and rumbly and the details of this nightmare come to life. There is no pretense of wanting to befriend me. No attempt to gain my trust. Just darkness. Supernatural beings that have no intention of letting me get out of here alive. I know that they've drugged me cause I can feel it, but it's ok. They keep flashing horrible images on a blood splattered screen and I can't help but think that I...hey I know that kid...yeah that's the bully from down the street. What happened to him? Haven't seen him for a... Oh. Yeah he was a dick, but nobody deserves that. Well, I guess Hitler. And probably Chris Brown. Oh yeah Justin Beiber too. He needs some of this. Liquid sounds bubble all around me as the hallucinogenic nightmare gets deeper and...I can smell the music. I didn't think despair had a soundtrack, but here we are. It's so vivid and like tributaries from a river will lead you down a lot of paths. None of them hopeful. If you're a cutter and suffer from depression steer clear of this cause they might be playing this at your funeral. Closed casket. I liked this one better than the first. The detail is sick with so many twists and turns. It can get really heavy at times with so much darkness weighing you down. Not something I would put on everyday or at the high school reunion unless you wanted a whole Carrie thing going on. But if you're in the dark and like detail in your forest music, where you can see all the creatures that only come out at night, then strap on the hiking boots and grab your ax. You're gonna need it. Scare the sh*t out of yourself for free. Mdk

  16. Artist: Photophobia Title: Crossing the Abyss EP Label: Enlight Records Date: January, 2013 01 - Merry Crisis And A Happy New Fear (vs Xarope) (136 BPM) 02 - Fearless Metanoia (141 BPM) 03 - Nocturnal Seeing (144 BPM) Who's ready for a little forest? From Rio De Janiero comes the debut of some dark and twisted sh*t. Twisted like a 27 car pile up on a snowy Nebraska interstate. Deep rumbling bass lines and that darkpsy lead that sounds like modulated acid. It's everywhere in this dark mess. Zero light with lots of sounds to keep you in the dark. I've heard good forest. For me this isn't it. No tale to tell (and of course no melodies) it just drops you down the hole and lets you fend for yourself. All culminating in a nightmare of sound with Nocturnal Seeing being the noisiest of the EP. The one thing that stands out is that it was mastered by none other than Electrypnose. So if you like your noise to be crystal clear, you've got that going for you. Only for the dark lovers, satanists, and other soulless monsters like members of Congress. Anyone else see the irony of Photophobia (light fearing) being released on Enlight Records? "She keeps on passing me by..." Free at Ektoplazm Mdk
  17. Artist: Saikozaurus Title: Demiurgent Agent Label: Moon Station Records Date: December, 2012 01 - Saikozaurus - Demiurgent Agent (148 BPM) 02 - Saikozaurus - Aliens Are Here (148 BPM) 03 - Saikozaurus - Fractal Omlet (148 BPM) 04 - Face Of Space - Per Aspera Ad Astra (148 BPM) Daniil Lebedyntsev from the Ukraine while not freezing his nuts off likes to make forest trance. And this one comes with a story. "To prevent contamination of the world’s water supply, the Chosen One comes. This demiurgent agent is an unhuman entity that rapidly creates new worlds with its mind, plunging the whole planet into alternative realities. He is high on Earth’s atmosphere and consequently doesn’t care about the consequences of its actions. His consciousness determines the future of the world, but suddenly he turned towards the psychedelic culture. The dark and light forces are trying to influence his decisions by giving signs. However, The One has flipped out and overcome the duality, so we will face the future without borders and conceptions in the rhythm of psychedelic trance!" I guess he has a lot of free time to come up with a mind bending scenario such as this one. And lots of Vodka. The pads on Aliens Are Here seem to say yes, they are here. Bow down. But other than that it's a lot of twinkling and bubbling that doesn't lead anywhere. Very samey. Free at Ektoplazm Mdk
