Music Is My Space (Menog Rmx) - Planet B.E.N. 9. Emotions (Rmx) This is how I feel when Nutek reveals a promising tracklist. I already know their game, they're not fooling me. And I don't care that this is former night-time trance stalwart Daniel Bernardo remixing all these tracks. Because unfortunately at this stage I know what we're going to get. Commercial full-on with no surprises. These remixes are watered down versions of the originals. Well produced surely, but this has that shiny, Nutek hand print all over it. Yeah, there's acid in these tracks and they are powerful full-on beats, but something ain't quite right. Besides the fact that all the tracks sound the same. Best one here is the Serius Problem remix, but that's mainly because it was such a kick ass track to begin with. A covid monkey could make that track great with a spoon and a cast iron skillet. I remember when I reviewed his album previous to this (Musically Speaking) that he was coming very close to the commercial full-on trap he used to avoid. Well it seems he dove head first into that pit. I'm aware that this release is 16 years old, but I'm also cognizant of the fact that Sgt. Pepper is over 50. I'm also over 50. And I'm awesome.

"First you get the Quaaludes, then the women get all sleepy sleepy...then it's all HEY, HEY, HEY!" This whole situation confounds me. Like a lot of you I grew up with Bill Cosby first on Fat Albert then as America's dad on the Cosby show. He's spent a lifetime in the spotlight and has done so much good, but apparently done an equal if not greater amount of really terrible things. The confusing part is...you're f*cking Bill Cosby. Rich, successful, famous...you could have any woman you wanted why the need to drug and rape thereby destroying people's lives? Which once again reinforces the fact that rape isn't about sex it's about power and this is one sick f*ckstick. Ok, rant over. If acid is the dirty, sticky icky then this is cleaning windows with a mud pie. Filthy. Acid washes are all over this and if that's your thing then you should enjoy Daniel's work and find several tracks of worth here. It's powerful and will get the blood moving. with Basic Survival Instinct (with Absolum) at the top of the list. While the boom factor is surely there one could argue that an entire album of very similar tracks will get old quickly. For me he is beginning to stray perilously close to that line that a lot of artists seem willing to cross where there is less insanity in the night time music and more of a commercial, watered down feel. Barby soon began performing and building a reputation as a trance artist, performing at local clubs, outdoor parties, festivals, and then joining collaborative forces with Chilean producer Ovnimoon in a collective called Psychedelic Shiva. Barby's honed and distinctive style combines an infusion of dark and industrial elements into trance while staying true to the roots of Goa and its ancient transcendental essence.
