  1. Love the build-up. The last few minutes are very satisfying .. *cleans pants*
  2. I'll name a few that come to mind in no particular order. Quite sure this has been discussed several times MFG - Project Genesis Koxbox - Forever After, Dragon Tales Pleiadians - IFO, Family of Light Dimension 5 - Transdimensional This is just a tiny scratch on the tip of the iceberg, to be fair. Of the newer ones I gotta put KhetzaL - Corolle somewhere I was thinking of compiling a list of all the "fine wine" albums I have, but of the non-compilation albums, I have hundreds and hundreds of them. This is gonna take a long time, especially since I haven't mustered the willpower to even get started on it
  3. I don't see a problem with that. A certain style of music took on a wider spectrum of interpretations and spawned other sub-genres. We can refer to them collectively as Psytrance. For instance, Cassandra's Nightmare is Goa trance, but it inspired a wholly different sub-genre. I don't know all the details behind darkpsy, though.
  4. Uhh, here be dragons?
  5. If Goa trance had an anthem, this would be it. Also, check out one of his other tracks: Enchanted forest. When I first heard it, I wouldn't have thought it was by Rapt.
  6. I keep it simple. Goa trance is a proper sub-genre of Psytrance. It's not incredibly important for me to exhaustively define what Goa trance is. I know if it's Goa once I listen to it
  7. An arm and a leg. Ordered a few T-shirts from abroad, over 10 euro for shipping costs. Ordered them over a month ago, got a notice a few days ago they're finally cleared.
  8. Listening to Tchaikovsky's The seasons right now. Nice break from goa trance madness
  9. To me it's not so much about whether it's "wrong". I know what kind of diets work for me. A lot of the former vegans who say they don't recommend it do it mostly because they couldn't figure out their diet. I'm likely not going to, either, so I will just skip being miserable and instead stay healthy so I can work normally.
  10. Everybody, their mothers and entire extended families have seen Breaking Bad by now.. ..so I decided to (finally) get netflix and watch it. I like it.
  11. I've been clean for a tad over 5 years. Quit the booze and the drugs in 2012ish and cigs late 2014. Goa trance alone is enough to get me high
  12. Revisiting New Vegas. An amazing game with all the mods to fix some major issues. Downside is, takes quite a bit to set up a load order for everything to work nicely. Modding New Vegas is like a game in itself
  13. Oh boy, I haven't read fiction for years. My favourite book, at least for now, has been Master and Margarita by Bulgakov. .. but working on some details of homological algebra
  14. Not vegan, yet. A lot of effort involved in making vegan diet work. Eating vegan doesn't automatically imply eating healthy. I struggle a lot with finding mostly animal product specifics (if not specific to, then very scarce among vegan-friendly products) most notably cobalamin and taurine to name some. I would need to hire a personal trainer to get a proper vegan diet going, but I already know which mixed diets work for me, so it's an easy choice. Besides, there're only 24 hours in a day.
  15. Very well presented. He makes good arguments against animal abuse. Unfortunately, that is his focus. Not giving arguments in favor of being vegan, but giving arguments against animal abuse. These are not equivalent (during the Q&A he somewhat says these are equivalent from a purely ethical point of view). He goes a bit crazy around 14 min mark when he says "all you have to do to end all of this is to eat something else". I guess he's playing to the crowd. A slight pet peeve. Whenever he claims something grandiose he supports it by "I think we all agree with so and so". He does this several times. I also think we all are against animal abuse. It's not relevant to support for veganism, because it is implicitly assumed that "cruel factory farming" is the only way to conduct it. It isn't. To his credit, he also knows he is exploiting this pattern and admits it freely during the Q&A.
  16. Why can't they just call their music something else? Is there really money to be made by calling something "psytrance", when it so clearly is Not psytrance? Call the genre "club smasher" or something, I'm sure it'll get much more traction than poor ol' psy.
  17. Hmm, I have Wonderland, which is some kind of compilation as far as I can tell, so I've heard Jajo, but I remember CS wasn't that memorable to me. I'll have to revisit CS, I guess. Prussky had his project Adrenalin Drum and that one I happen to like very much. Drawing blank on Gindos, I only know him from CS.
  18. Fair enough. My point is that newcomers are more likely to be exposed to the newer sound. Combined with mass mania, en masse, they likely will not like old school sound. Hence, the median response is "old school goa is outdated". I might have made some (cynical) leaps somewhere, hence I emphasised it's a rant ..I clearly feel very strongly about this topic
  19. *clears throat* \begin{rant} So, these days, psytrance = something like vini vici or armin van buuren Real talk, just search for "modern psytrance" - I can't distinguish between any of them, there's nothing unique, it's always the same shit. That shit ain't got nada to do with psy. I mean, if they can pay their bills and make ends meet, sure, whatever, more power to em, but that shit ain't for me. Of course old school goa trance sounds dated. It's not bland and monotonous with the same god damn "kick" and slight variation to melody, if any is present in the first place - most likely some cheesy uplifting synth, hear it so often. I'm sure there are nowadays a few legit artists making legit psy, but I'm sticking to what I know - that is goa from 90s and early 2000s. God forbid someone dares to openly criticise this clowning that's going on in the psy scene right now. Funnily enough, I wouldn't have a problem with it, if they just called their generic crap something else and not Psytrance. It IS a semantics issue and it's not at the same time. You can't just make psy look bad like that.. you just can't! \end{rant}
  20. ..which was before, the chicken or the egg, you tell me Never was a fan of CS. His other project Adrenalin(n) Drum is nice, though.
  21. D5 - Iron Sun (I was listening to a lot of new school psy and then took a break, put on Transdimensional and the intro already sent shivers across my body. Just can't get that sensation with most of the new school production) Dreamweaver - Lord of Illusions I like them mid-easternish vibes
