  1. Has Mars ever said that Filteria is the best ever psy-artist? Or are you making a fairly large leap of faith from the fact that he said that Heliopolis was his favourite album of 2006? Look, the Best of 2006 votes were about personal taste. By voting Filteria as no.1, he was saying that he personally likes his music, which was also presumably the reason why he personally signed him to his personal record label. Nothing sinister about that. Note further that Suntrip is one of about one label that is actually releasing stuff that has the old school Goa sound nowadays, so it's hardly surprising that acts which have that sound (and which are therefore likely to make it into Mars' best of 2006 list) would end up signed to Mars' label. He did.
  2. Nice thoughts Trolsk. My suggestion would be to allow people to vote for more than a top 5, since there weren't that many voters this year so more votes would allow for a statistically more meaningful chart. I agree that a top 10 would be good, in which people could leave the last few blank if they didn't want to nominate that many albums. Also having the scores range from 1 to 10 would be better than 1 to 5, since for example I felt that my no.5 album of the year deserved more than one fifth the credit of my no.1 album, and I expect a lot of people would agree. edit: I don't mean to suggest that Moni didn't do a great job this time round, because she did, obviously.
  3. Why do you think Mars and Anoebis would have signed Filteria if not because they liked his music?
  4. I've just been reading this old thread to pass the time, and based on the comments it seems that a lot of people who didn't like this album made their minds up about it pretty quickly. I've got to say - big mistake! I bought this album after growing to love his track off Karmagedon, and when I first got it I wasn't sure what to make of it at all. I listened to it every day for a few weeks, unable to figure out whether I liked it or not, before I suddenly (with help from Mary Jane) realised that it's one of the best albums I'd ever heard. If you have this tucked away in your collection and you don't like it you should really give it another try, especially tracks 4-7. I would give it 9.5/10
  5. now i saw it..but i dont like that girl :( haha

Also: Polyphonia has an album coming soon. I think 2007 is shaping up nicely.

I'm currently listening to the samples on Psyshop of the new Goa Gil mixalbum. Sounds good!
  8. my god i didn't even know you could leave a comment! haha, cooool :)

and thanks :) and indeed, i love my new avatar, and i find it quite amusing actualy when people can't handle it, it' like when i'm in hyperactive mode and i know people will want to tone me down, and when they do want to i find it amusing because i knew it was going to happen... :) hihi muhahahahaha

  9. im sure you wont :P

  10. I'm not sure that your criticism of the webshops is fair. In my experience when a CD stays out of stock at those shops for any length of time it's because it's out of print. Have you tried contacting the distribution companies to ask about the albums you're after? I recently contacted Wirikuta to ask about an out of stock album and their reply was extremely prompt and helpful. Personally, I'd like to see more psy labels put their stuff on iTunes or similar; that way when an album goes out of print and they don't think there's enough demand to do another pressing one could at least buy the music in some form.
  11. +1 (OK, so it isn't the only reason I'm single...)
  12. 1: Take That - Beautiful World 2: Take That - Relight my Fire 2006 3: Take That - Patience 4: Take That - Shine 5: Take That - Back for Good
  13. I guess their fans have grown out of the embarassement phase and into the nostalgia phase. Personally I must admit that I felt a measure of sick satisfaction upon learning that Take That did well at the Brits while Robbie got nothing, and checked into rehab soon after.
  14. I would appreciate reviews of both Isentropic: Heaven's Gonna Burn Your Eyes and Jellyheadz: Pollution Violence Technology. I quite feel like buying one of them, but am not sure which.
  15. Leave the poor girl alone. If adding up the results is so easy, why do you suppose nobody else has done it?
  16. "Remember" them? I don't need to remember them: they are currently making a comeback. Won several Brit awards this year.
  17. I actually thought 2006 was pretty good...
  18. Dark Nebula's stuff lies on the border between fullon and dark, but it's great. The 8th Sphere is outstanding, though I don't know how easy it is to get. Dream Fuel is good too. edit: psyshop have the 8th sphere.
  19. Also on the noise poison website are these poll results. Damn right! 160BPM is killarggggggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  20. Bugger. Did you get it using p2p software? OD: Back on topic, Kindzadza's new stuff is in a similar vein to Cosmo/ Peace for the Wicked etc. but better based on what I have heard. If you are thinking about getting Gravity it might be worth waiting for the new KDD album and seeing what people have to say about that instead.
