  1. Hey Folks I was in South Iceland and thought I'll show you some pix. They're nothing too artsy, and I'm an amateur with an even more-so-cam, but maybe you still might be able to squeeze out some words of appreciation for them :wank: Here you are: Reykjavík: Vík: Þingvellir: Höfn: Kirkjubæjarklaustur: Skaftafell National Park: Jökulsárlón: :posford:
  2. I always knew producing Psytrance would pay off sometime. Natalie Portman, wait for me!
  3. Yes! Just what I needed Thank you. This is awesome music. Bursting with colours, emotions, life. A real mind-and-body-experience. It's been a year since I've bought the 4-track, and I remember having iRemberem oGa on heavy rotation for weeks; greatest tune of 2008 it was!
  4. Heeey, haven't read you in a while The book was written way before the film. It was first published in 1979. The book wasn't very succesful, I believe, because it was never reprinted before 2003. The author, Huber Selby, jr., died in 2004. (The book is a bitch to get in Switzerland, by the way. It took the bookshop more than three weeks to get hold of it.) That's also the reason why something in the film is a bit dodgy: They listen to very modern music, yet at the clinic they use EST, which wasn't used anymore after the 70ies, I guess...nevertheless, brilliant book, brilliant film!
  5. I don't like The Green Mile at all. Mostly because of its "look"...the pictures look so artificial, so sterile, as if it were digitally filmed (maybe it was? Dunno). I also think it's rather boring, and the fantasy hokum makes it totally impossible to do something to me on an emotional level. But speaking about The Shawshank Redemption, hell yeah, what a film. Makes me cry in the end each time. Fantastic. I like its message a lot, inspired me a lot. Constant dripping wears the stone. Hope never dies. And stuff like that. Freeman totally rocks in it, his best role together with the one he's playing in Seven. On a sidenote, I'm not into Stephen King at all. In my opinion, he's the personification of assembly-line-literature without any artistic approach to it. This one is the only story I really like, Dolores Clayborne too, maybe. And The Shining, but only because it's good film material.
  6. Requiem for a Dream by Hubert Selby jr. Have read it almost as many times as I've watched the film. ...and then there's The Bible
  7. Mourning Beloveth. No need to discuss Doom any further than that
  8. Well then, I'd like to add myself I wouldn't dare calling it (Neo-)Goa Trance at all though. - What I am into could be called Minimal Goa, I guess, even though I am being announced as "Progressive GOA" on flyers. Link is in my signature
  9. Dammit, I wanted to post that too! I am an X-Files whore! I actually do like some of that trashy stuff with my Goa, yes please. Stuff I like includes references to Science of all sorts, even though I am a complete noob in those subjects at school. And naturally I am fond of all that Nasa stuff, being fascinated by Science Fiction. What I dislike are those drug references, as drugs are no good. At least not for me (I suppose; never tried it out).
  10. Shape of Despair is absolutely beautiful indeed. Great music. As for Burzum: This guy (Varg Vikernes or something) is an asshole. Fucking Nazi. These tendencies need to be eradicated. Better listen to some Kampfar for proper Black Metal, made by sane people:
  11. Yeah, it is funny indeed It had a lot to do with the classes though...I actually admire Fitzgeralds writing, he had great talent in evoking pictures, his metaphors are, simply put, the rocks. Our English classes, however, are terrible. For me, the level is just too low. I'd like to read some top notch English literature, but as the overall level is a lot lower, we keep reading insignificant (IMO) American prose. Alas...
  12. I've had a very strong aversion for F. Scott Fitzgerald ever since I was tantalized with discussing The Great Gatsby in never-ending English lessons. So this film is a nischt-nischt for me.
  13. Wow, that could be really interesting. I'm not even thinking about going there, but I feel strangely attracted to it. D/Ling now, thanks!
  14. I partly agree with RTP. Indoor parties have there very own charm, and since I moved to the city 1 1/2 years ago, I make use a lot of the advantage of being able to leave whenever I want. Still I can't say I prefer it indoors. I love them both. My only problem outdoors is that I often go there with as little equipment as possible. I've never taken a sleeping bag nor a tent with me in the past. Hence I've spent lots of nights out in the rainy woods, covered by a backdrop or a kitchen towel, freezing. This year I decided to buy one, though Looking forward to spend some warm, cozy festies
  15. I've started reading Robert Musil's (1880 - 1942) "Der Mann ohne Eigenschaften" ("The Man without Qualities"). It's one monumental piece of literature, spread over 3 parts, totalling in roughly 2000 narrow-printed pages; and it is incomplete, the guy died before he could finish it, after having worked on it for more than 20 years. After his death though, some driven German philologists constructed the last part of it out of loose material and notes they found in Musil's legacy. It'll take me around 2 months, I guess

    Cast Away

Great stuff indeed. Zemeckis is a fabulous director; 4 of his flicks are in my Top50 (Forrest Gump, Contact, What Lies Beneath, Cast Away).
  17. Home, because no one plays any Psytrance there Seriously though, nothing can replace a good Doof out there in the woods. But, unfortunately, they are rare. Oh my, I am getting old and grumpy. Maybe I just need more sex. Or beer. Oh yes, beer!!!
  18. Interesting indeed. I've always found it very strange that there is such a big "scene" in Switzerland, being such a wee country. There are so many parties - too many even, so that there can already be some rivalry felt between organizers. Not too mention artists such as Paste and XV Kilist having big success and importance in the history of Minimal Psychedelic Trance, and a label like Traktor Schalllabor providing the world with futuristic music back in the days, hailing from small villages with no other inhabitants than hillbillies A funny world, innit.
  19. Lo and Behold, ye Goa Goblins and Psychedelic Fairies! This spring, I've been setting up a new Liveset which is going to make its debut tonight at THE PSYCHEDELIC EXPERIENCE 2 in Wetzikon, Switzerland. I've recorded one of my rehearsals and loaded it up to the internetz for your listening pleasure. I'm aware that it's not quite flawless, but I hope you don't care too much...I was quite drunk and, well, a beginner.
