  1. some psychesteps what took you so long
  2. man im glad the topic got attention, feels good not to be alone lads, we have to be careful what we call full-on imo. it is quite a new term, 10 years ago i dont think people called this music any other then psytrance, and thats something you cant use today cause it just doesnt exist. even the original psytrance used to be nice: (ignoring the end...) or Zorba - The Rush i remember listening to those tracks from a dj set, had quite some nice tunes, but had cheese aswell, but to me this is not full-on, not if compared to what full-on means in general and majority, maybe FULL IN . anyway, feels good to talk about the music that infected me to this wonderful world , desinfected actualy.
  3. http://www.discogs.com/artist/Nello i've heard some of his unreleased tunes, some tracks are really high standard
  4. i remember listening to some Altom tunes, couldnt digg with him, Orion is nice aswell but a different breed, just like i said, those times artists really watched only their own shit, now it feels like a centralised music society HOWEVEEEER, ETIC is sick , you just introduced me to the most wonderful feeling ever, that of a new artists which really vibrates your ear edit: soul surfer sounds nice too, you said something about a hybrid of full-on and progressive, i say it is a matter of composition skills, but in soul surfers case you are absolutely right more mate, we're on the same freqs RE-EDIT: Visual Paradox - Wicked Way, how could i forget this
  5. fellas, i dont wanna be annoying here asking for more rare shit to sound more cool, i am in need of some old sound, probably non-existent in the present time and maybe even unnamed as a sound itself through my eaResearch in the psychedelic sound, it was very rare that artists got my attention, and i have noticed this conversion from GOA to PSY was really flooded with different styles. today psytrance is recognized by the world through full-on, perhaps because of some artists faults (we just shouldnt give them too much power) or who knows, people just started giving less shit and enjoying their stupid pills more then the music i am not a fan of the first kind of psytrance, artists like koxbox, logic bomb and battle of the future buddhas just dont ring any bell in me, however, just some years later, between 2000-2004, this deep feeling was introduced, even Vibrasphere made some less progressive and more atmospheric tunes, but what i am exactly looking is submarine like sound, not overloaded with elements and carefuly made. Cosmic Tone did some amazing work with Overwhelming and Going Solo, even the 2005 album sounded right if you can stand the sword like synths (cheese at some point). it's positive music, takes a bit of time to dive in and can even be euphoric at some moments but most of the time its mellow. key artists: cosmic tone, cosma, some son kite stuff and even some vibrasphere stuff, i am sure that the archive people here know what im talking about...i remember Wrecked Machines did some sort of stuff as well, and these names today make only noise, not music. for those who werent into this stuff, have a listen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ss9ZvaDGiGQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHHrTG4bNBg or something even lower and techish from him or or or, even stuff like this not to forget this wtf happened with this scene
  6. guys be careful how you share your opinion about this artist, there are people that adore him to a paris hilton level. anyway, IN MY ONION, this is just an overated artist, can't blame the other guy cause i dont like anything from him and there's not much hype about him anyway, though huge credits for The Receptive and Evil & Harm, tunes that always make it on my sets cant believe Skylon was released on the same label, no wonder Ott did a self-release with Mir
  7. www.thefullonweb.com yup, they hired the Phonokol guys back to reality, their campaing is weird and really makes you think someone who does listen to cheese is on the highest chair of the project
  8. it is amazing how you beat most of the majority when it comes to rhythm, keep it up mate, this is really good stuff
  9. my apologies to the compilers, i did just not have enough time to keep up with music the last 6 months, however, i do keep a folder with stuff that i havent gone through yet and i just finished this one and i have to say, the newcomers are proving themself here the way its meant to be, considering that To Infinity is my favourite track if i had to say top 10 from all music, but the remix just didnt catch me (i just dont like when the bass is too much in the surface, it gets the full on bitter taste), it didnt catch me in the essence that the rest of the tracks were just way better The Youth Academy of Goatrance kudos to compilers/label, this is a nice piece of devotion.
  10. well thats weird, cause i dont like glitch as well, everything from IDM makes me vommit, too much unstructured sounds. at the same time, i dislike down-tempo, IMO it is just too much depressive and you hardly express creativity in that music, and it's true OTT used those two terms this time, but track 1 and 7 are absolutely clean and represent Ott's wonderdub. This is rhythmic chillout music, it has nothing to do with downtempo though.
  11. well put, but still the ott-ish dub makes it recognise its him immediately. what changed, is MOOD, i guess Ott just started making music when he feels like dancing lol, cause most of his stuff are deeply meditative/melancholic dubs, and you can feel that you need loads of positivity to do such work. however, "One day I wish to have this kind of Time" just does it like the previous albums. and i plus your Ott 2.0, he's not a person that has to prove himself cause nobody in this scene has his technical abilities, you have no idea how much i would love to connect this post with the topic artists being less psy over time, well, OTT's not on that list. ps, i bought the release, i think the rip's came faster then the release itself, but still, i bought it, and its worth every penny.
  12. oh excuse me, you seem affiliated, didnt mean to. believe it or not, drugs were, are and will be a catalyst in this scene, and its not your (artists) fault on that. I am not backing up anything here, and just as you, i like seeing normal faces instead of wrecked sweaty foreheads with hidden pupills in the morning, but both me and you have to agree on one thing, especially on the PSY scene, these are the people that *dominate* in our parties. I've been on parties where people left because there were no pills around even though the dj was spinning top quality stuff. just like IronSun said, everyone here is right! just take my last example, why would an artist care if sober people on the dancefloor represent a minority. and yes, artists change/evolve, but remember, its style that gives them the name, not letters and not personality, and thats what disapoints people, thats the reason why this thread exists. ps, i wonder how many artists have played high on gigs? i got a feeling the number would surprise all of us.
  13. too much ignorant chatter around... anyway, i have been a follower of artists that took my attention, which everybody knows is a natural process, the real question is, who does the artists make music for, ive come to know that its rarely for themselve, most of artists dont seem to put themself on the position of the listener, and this is where ignorance starts... but to answer the question, yes money is part of it, but i dont know what f*cking life you can gain and how much you can feed urself from "PSY", i had the chance to know some artists personally and one of the things that kills the music in their mind is...COKE. Have you ever questioned yourself why artists tend to be less convincing in story telling music and switching to more easy and straight forward music where you can feel the unpatience behind it? everytime i found this on artists, COKE was the subject of their life. for most of the people im prejudicing, but hey, the artists that i deeply love seem to be most of the time sober, LOL.
  14. lol, i dont like dubstep aswell, but i got used to the rhythm from friends around me listening to it, and i can say that there are some stuff that i like "sometimes", as long as the dub dominates im fine, but give the link a try, Ott gave it for free like an hour ago ps, he did a similar experient once a while a go, Ott meets billy the kid, the break after the pause is very different to what Ott usually does, but this is Ott, open to challanges
  15. in my opionion, the only things the above names have in common is friendship, label and hardware. Ott sounds nothing like them, he's an island in music and that's it. last night, in Camden, Ott had i think problems or the bar had problems with the sound system, so there was quite a big delay until he started, we had the chance to listen only a few new tracks, surprisingly DUBSTEP is the new element inside, but on a very OTT-ISH way.
  16. 1. One Day I Wish To Have This Kind Of Time. 2. Adrift In Hilbert Space. 3. Owl Stretching Time. 4. Squirrel and Biscuits. 5. A Nice Little Place. 6. Mouse Eating Cheese. 7. The Aubergine of the Sun. from his page/profile post, official tracklist
  17. yup, hope there's good smell around as well.
  18. i just ran into this cd from a local shop, so weird. i thought it never got released, i hate the fact that im nearly a year late on this one. and fukc me is this album great, constant vibe, its exactly how i like it, not overloaded, great magic dust around and very straight through simple basslines all around. this album and Artha topped 2010 for me.
  19. 4. Tabernacle (7:14) 5. When the Universe Was Created (6:41) well they're the most important tracks for me when it comes to this project, but i was hoping soooo much for the Sugar Rush remix
  20. i would dare putting this in the same boat as this album: Artha - Dubber Nubber come on world, more from this please...
  21. wow, im surprised how much Skylon was ignored, im even more surprised with people differing ott's music. you rarely find an artist that can put you through a journey like this one, no one in the music industry for me has reached a level like Ott, he's absolutely crystal clear in production and shamanic when it comes to creativity, this mixture is extremely rare. what i love most about him is that he usually makes his music in either pure chilled out mode like Jacks cheese and bread, which include oriental instruments, or he does more uptempo dub tracks like Rogue Bagel or the master piece remix of Entheogenic - Ground Luminosity, but in those occasions he uses dominating oriental vocals rather then instruments, and faster dub tracks have more percussion's he OWNS dub, the gamma goblins remix is an answer how a subject in stepped dub is explained and not chaotically demonstrated like the ugly dubstep does. He even remixed Bluetech, whats worth mentioning though is that he left his ID on the remix, you could write charlie chaplin remix on it, i would immediately know it was Ott behind it. for anyone who Ott didnt seem a worth name checking (the name is rather Odd), spare yourself 30-40 euros of beer and buy his discography, if you like positive music, he's the man for you. here's a reference, , you may have seen the movie around the world in 80 days, or listened to tegmas around the world in 80 minutes, or even heard shpongles around the world in a tea daze, well forget them, listening to cley hill will do that in less then 10 minutes
  22. something high-performance for music listeners http://www.bose.co.uk/GB/en/home-and-personal-audio/speakers/stereo-speakers/901-speakers/ i recently had the luck to pass by this beauty and was amazed from the sound quality, but very expensive as well (2,000 euros)
