It's not that it has to be on a physical CD, there is something else to it. It's the same with movies, if I rent it from the video shop then I have a time limit on when I have to watch it, if I buy it I have to watch it because I paid money for it. If I download it it will just sit on my hard drive as I have no motivation to watch it. With music though it is even worse, as I have so much that I have paid for, free music just doesn't get the number of listens as the music I bought. The other week I downloaded some stuff of Ektoplasm and I haven't even unzipped it yet

Maybe he thinks people will buy it because they like it, even though they now already "have" it. I agree that it is a very risky sales teachnique but while it could hurt CD sales it could seriously boost the number of people wanting to go to his gigs and I am sure the most money comes from the gigs nowadays. I'm going to wait until I get the CD before listening to it as I generally don't connect with anything I download

What I got from Afgin's post is that he likes Euro Trance with vocals in it and that's why he makes it. Perfectly reasonable. We may be disappointed because we don't like the style but I still think that artists should make the kind of music that they want to make. Don't underestimate the value of "vibes"

Hi Charles, thanks for taking the time to read my review. When I say that it is similar to Life2 I mean the overall style is very much the same. Whereas each individual track is not something I am going to mistake as being on Life2, I feel that the overriding atmosphere was very similar. I did however like Life2 very much and this is almost its equal (just that first track I don't like much, sorry). I have had Regenesis as my ringtone for the last 6 months too. Seriously love that track, my favourite from you. I heard that you were thinking of an all ambient album, is that true? I'd love to see your talent focused into one full ambient album

This! The most talented artists don't want to keep making the same music over and over again and they will delve into music of other styles that they either think will be a challenge or that they enjoy more. Yes a lot of artists make more mainstream music that is less psychedelic and more appealing for the masses. But maybe they don't care about psychedelic, not eveything has to be psychedelic for everyone. Maybe they like that style, the energy the simplicity and less pretension that goes with the more "elite" styles of music. People change and I say let them. There will always be new artists to come and take up the mantle. Look at PoF above, still fairly new and 2 fantastic albums under their belt. Same here but I find psychedelia in more than I used to
