Hey profane, Doesnt sound bad here at all. But... you could make the snare a little meatier. Boost the eq a little somewhere in the 150-300 range i think. Or add another nice n meaty snare of which you can cut the top part so you only have the meat. Then the rhythm will also be a little more energetic. Second part of the track is done pretty well! Although I get the feeling it s not really yet going anywhere. The pads and sounds are really nice and fit the track well. Try to find some sounds that will pull you through the track and you have something really nice going on! Post an update when the track is finished!

If used wisely I think it is very possible to use drugs without any harm at all. Most scientific evidence that drugs are harmful comes from studies of people not using it wisely (addicts fe). Just check out maps.org for some examples of the benificial use of drugs. Not everybody on a rave tries to connect with the world around him/her. It is very often just a way to enjoy yourself and be together with friends. Just an alternative to a barnight. Not every rave is a mindbending or mindexpanding experience!

Just read in the Sound On Sound magazine that alot of producers don't really use much reverb on vocals at all. So I guess it doesnt matter that much. Just give it a very light feel of a room, but don't over do it. If at all. Or maybe find a hiphop production forum.

Why the emphasis on drug free? What is the problem if people like to use something to enjoy themselves better? I don't think drugfree parties make alot of sense. It is like a bar without alcohol.

I don't think it necessarily takes more skills to layer more sounds in your arrangement. A little maybe if you totally cram it full of sounds. But What is most difficult is to create something interesting to listen to with the sounds you have. And if you have a few they need to be absolutely perfect. While if it is fuller you can get away with less perfect sounds.

Drugs might not be a good idea for youngsters but it sure can do a hell of a lot of good to grown ups if used wisely. Check maps for example. And tell then again that drugs don't do good to anyone. If you are refering to consciousness expansion only, than you might be partly right. I find it doesnt really help that much unless it is really used in a spiritual context. With a certain intention in mind, a good set and setting. But most often in the 'psychedelic' trance scene it is only used for fun.

Some nice stuff going on there. It is a little difficult to really hear a track on myspace because of the compression. But i think the low end could be a little tighter. And the tracks are still a little chaotic. Keep em coming!

how big is your bedroom? If it is anywhere near the same size I think that one is better especially if you can treat it with basstraps and reflection absorbers.

If you are in any way serious about your music and you think you ll upgrade your monitors in the following year or 2 to something better i'd recommend to wait and save up until you can really buy something good. Monitors are one of the most important parts of your music making chain. So it is worth spending some bucks on imho. Otherwise there is loads of options for your budget. Yamaha hs50m or hs80m are also not a bad choice.

well.. everybody that voted for a dj thinks that that dj is the best. Not the most famous. Of course how skilled that dj is is a different matter. Arent there any women in the list at all?
