  1. With headphones it is difficult to monitor the bass. Even with cheap speakers you ll have some idea. You just need to get to know them.
  2. Don't worry about the sampler. The stuff you have is more than enough to dive into. Also most modern daws have a sampler onboard. and that is all you need. I would still recommend to get some good monitors. You don't have to produce with alot of volume. Actually producing with low volume is better. Just try a few daws and see which one makes most sense to you. good luck!
  3. I only know one really.. dark records. Did you try them?
  4. Hi all, Ektoplazm.com has a new great psychedelic techno release 01 Merlin’s Beard (130 BPM) 02 The Chase (130 BPM) 03 White Noise In C Major [feat. Fogg] (130 BPM) 04 Uh Oh (128 BPM) Drumlore presents White Noise In C Major, the first release from Nozem (Raoul Koning AKA Supergroover), a progressive psytrance and techno producer from the Netherlands. Since his studio is located near the Vondelpark, a former meeting place of the 1960s counterculture in the centre of Amsterdam, Raoul decided to name this project “Nozem”, which is a Dutch word for someone who doesn’t adjust to the rules of society. True to form, this boundary-breaking release features pumping techno rhythms and a sound palette heavily influenced by psychedelic trance, a powerful fusion that will rock dance floors around the world. Written and produced by Raoul Koning. Mastered by Miroslav Bako @ Rocktifex Studio, Serbia. Artwork by Alexander Synaptic. Released by Drumlore [DRMF06]. http://drumlore.com/ http://www.ektoplazm.com/2011/nozem-white-noise-in-c-major

  7. Check the isratrance forum. There is lots of tips and tricks on making music. Then just try try try try and try... It takes a lot of time and dedication to make good music. Also on youtube and many other website there is good tutorials on how to make music and design sounds. Imitating can teach you alot. If you are good enough to copy it you can start to innovate..
  8. Any dubstep recommendations that are more towards the first album of liquid stranger? bit more spacey/ trippy in stead of harsh and rough?
  9. just start producing in cubase if you think reason is not suitable enough for mixing. I think it should be fine though.
  10. Try some valium.. It can be very psychedelic with a caipirinha!
  11. Are you in a bad mood Psytones? What you find psychedelic can be boring to others.
  12. That's just nonsense. There is everything between 128 and 140. I even found some progressive at 144 the other day.. 14. It sounds pretty decent but it is really hard to say anything about it because it is only 24 seconds. If you want useful feedback I recommend to upload a full track.
  15. often minor scales are used in trance and chill out. what music feels like also of course really depends on the sounds that are used.
  16. also check out http://www.maps.org and http://www.stichtingopen.nl. Two organisations dedicated to putting psychedelics back on the science map. The OPEN foundation has a really interesting conference coming up in Amsterdam end of Oktober. Check it out! http://mindalteringscience.com/
  17. I liked it. Definitly not the best Tim Burton ever. But it was fun to watch. Although it isnt a problem if you don't see it. It lacks some originality.
  18. It doesnt have to be a suntrip release. it could be psynews
  19. I wouldnt care much for the old stuff. But a new contest would be great Maybe as a digital download for ektoplasm?
  20. The sounds is pretty sweet. Bassline is ok imo. Doesn't need much more variety. But the overall song does need something more. This is too empy. Too minimal for my taste. It just flows. But it doesn't spark yet. But as it is a work in progress it is a nice building block for sure! Final track could be good!
  21. Nice guy, Nice deal Nice package (soft toilet paper around the cds! ) Nice communication so.. to sum it all up in one word. Nice!
  22. The bassline sounds a little offbeat. but it also makes it sound quite interesting and different. Is that the sound or the delay or what? It doesnt roll perfectly with the kick yet. Also the percussion needs to roll with the kick/ bass. Maybe make the reverb on the clap/ snare a little easier. It is quite big now and drowns. Don't work too long on one track in the beginning. You could lose yourself in detail. STart a new one and try to make it better than the previous one. Good luck!
