cool! well if thats the case, spend your big $$$ on producing equipment!! we know thats where money truly matters cuz u can always use the top DJ equipment when u get recognized and play the music u make. but the other way doesnt work as often: u wont use other peoples nice producing stuff, by being a good DJ. hehe the DXM06 will serve you fine for DJ hobby. I havent had any problems, i also have 2 friends with it who love it as much as i do. if you are rough on the crossfaders and volume sliders, they will wear faster than other mixers (my friend had to wait 3 weeks to get his volume slider replaced cuz he was too tough on it). i use mine daily tho, its on 24/7 and no problems so far over 6+ months. people will often bash Numark but, usually they havent used this particular mixer. yeah u should consider the CDJ100 and CDJ200. the features of the decks are almost unimportant... like effects. all u need is a good pitch adjustment and a reliable pitch hold (it stays at that pitch) thats what the Pioneer CDJ series will give u. its surprising how badly some other decks are at holding a pitch... this can make it a nightmare to beatmatch... and its very hard to tell... good luck, and thats all the advice i got!!

the manual that comes with Reason will help you immensely also there is a really good video tutorial called "Producing Music With Reason" i strongly recommend u do both of these and of course play with the demo songs!! as for Subtractor. did you add a Mixer first? throw in a Matrix after your subtractor, hit run, and play with that.

I use 2xCDJ800 + Numark DXM06 Personally I like this mixer the best for its price. It sounds amazing at 24bit, nice effects, kills Berhengbla and Stantons But you may want more than 2 channels for producing. The 600 is the standard for clubs... but Allen+Heath are better... Depends what your goals are... if u plan to play out alot, learning the 600 is important. If you want personal mixer for pro mixing/producing, get the Xone:64 The CDJ 1000 are really good, you can do more tricks than the 800, with hot cues. If your money is overflowing (iwish) then get these. The 800 do have reallllll nice loop buttons tho, and quick return... and half the price! My advice: only get pioneer CD decks. Everything else sucks.

dude mixing house is easier than mixing psytrance especially the complex noisy fullon stuff... try it and see. its hard to match this stuff by ear, thats why .7 is used. its second nature. i dont think about it, its not like i sit here calculating 'hmmm 145 minus 0.7 = 144" ... i just bump it down instantly in those multiples and then start to fine tune. if you dont want to use this trick, then dont... hehe. in fact u may be better off in the long run without using BPM at all. but there are psy DJs who can keep the crowd moving. they are rarer than house/trance DJs. ps. i like to mix in some steve murano and assorted house with psy at house parties, cause it keeps people dancing and havin fun it also gives a break on the ears from all the noisy psy

psytrance is all math its made with computers i think its ironic that people think math ruins the magical "feeling" of techno music i use the .7 rule alot, as the first step to beatmatch. its a better guide than any BPM counter, but to do it by ear is the only reliable way mua

i agree... and master tempo can make the pitch sound bad when you mix two tracks with +-5 bpm... the songs sound out of tune

i was thinking about this track today. there are really nice moments in it, and i imagine you had a lot of fun making it. but my advice on the structure... (if you are willing to listen, i assume so, since u ask for our feedback!!) IMO you could have a really great tune if you did these things: - make some minimal sections, so there are builds ups to the complexity - take out some of the whiny noise that goes on through the whole track, like around 4:00 and 6:00 - add some simple, subtle patterns to give flow and structure - some of the delays are so short it sounds jumbly - uplifting background pads (embracer if u use cubase) give some silence so that only one sound remains ... let them float ... thats paradise to me! this would make good beach music. hope my advice helps for your next track.

been looking forward to hearing your stuff for a while !! i wasnt disappointed! i like your tunes so far. they still have a little rough edge to some of the sounds (for example the backing pad sound at 3:30, the notes should flow together). also maybe some shorter sounds sprinkled in, perhaps with delays, as contrast to your melodies. it does sound a bit more trance and less psytrance, i think you should add something odd/wierd to get that psy feel! im sure you will improve as you progress! keep it up

i'd imagine that anyone who makes psytrance , is an IM fan especially in Canada, they are one of the few acts that come here. maybe he uses one of the synths that IM does? nord perhaps?

the delay on your early sounds is jumbled. the song sounds nice but its confusing to listen to with structure and less whiny sound throughout it would be alot more enjoyable good sound quality tho

excellent ima have to give this one a shot since i have troubles getting the sounds i want what better way to learn than to build some synths?

very few albums are available on vinyl thru psyshop!! maybe 1/50 ratio that u can get on CD maybe more are available in local stores in europe and israel? but if u try to find these records in north america, its very rare.

DJ's might be the biggest sales market for psytrance i imagine if psytrance was released on vinyl it would sell higher. (however i dont think that its the best medium for this genre)
