  1. managers and agents should take PLUR classes artists should take some business classes
  2. very interesting comments on the thread (except a couple recurring digressions). Thanks for the recommendations, I had some already that overlooked, and others I never heard of. So far my favorite, of what is called psy chill within this thread is stuff like Kumba Mela Experiment, more recent stuff like Master Margherita, and the usuals OTT SHpongle, etc.. I agree that many times people release something based on another previous success of another person. However if we didn't stand on the shoulders of giants we would need to be giants ourselves to see far ahead. Hell as much as I hate to admit, when describing a genre I usually name the same artists almost everytime (these are the giants) however...piggybacking on giants to get some cash or anything lowlevel like that is completely different! about IDM (hate the name too) there is some real SHITTY stuff that just because it sounds like nothing else DOES NOT mean its any good dont confuse being DIFFERENT with being UNIQUE
  3. come on! look at it! you know you want to
  4. Hey all again, I know some people around here are into Last.fm. It keeps track of what you listen to (mine is mostly psy trance...go figure) and makes recommendations of new artists and other people that it thinks you will like. It has a ton of statistics (I love tistics!!) masically its myspace on steroids and without bots, and stupid pretentious people (yet) here is mine I swear that once you get into the whole thing, you will never use myspace again! http://www.last.fm/user/djfilitico/ ...imagine having a program that points to people that love the same music.. whooomp there it is
  5. hehehe i thought it was georgia usa...like georgia peaches how did it go?
  6. get a pair of 1210s as well (or 4 1000's total) then ill come over and do the 5 finger discount
  7. yeah it is precise enough. You can adjust on the fly. Most vinyl DJs are quite capable of correcting the beatmatch on the fly. CD players make it even easier..almost cheating besides theres bpm counters and such. It all comes down to what you want them for. I chose mine (pictured above) because it allows me to scratch my Audition creations (recording my voice, scratching it, recording into a promo for my show; also for messing with sounds as well..) If you spin at big parties then yes...but then again, people put big rims and turbos in their rides but the premise remains the same .A -> .B I'd say get the djm800+2 cdj1000s, a interface for recording, and some web hosting so we can see your creations also, having top gear negates all excuses in regards to technique and such things btw, sccratching on 1000's will NEVER compare to vinyl so dont use that as the main reason
  8. I use these at home best of all worlds!
  9. at our radio station we got cmx-3000 cd players the big money was spent on a djm-800 mixer nutbustingly delicious back up: spend the dough on better mixers is my advice btw, imho those are the 2 best period ps: rane too ^^
