  1. "other electronica" needs to be renamed "ambient / downtempo" before I trust it.

CUT YOUR HAIR GET A JOB HIPPIES!!!
  3. So your argument is based on the assumption that fear destroys creativity, and that a conservative federal government is at least partially responsible for the lack of downtempo music? Quite the theory there guy.
  4. Alternating between Celtic Cross remixed and the new Hallucinogen In Dub tracks, grooving towards the summe with Shpongle news, shpongle DVD's and the not-so distant London psychedelia in October... You god damn right I'm rejoicing. :posford:
  5. I don't understand the semantics with "from" shpongleland. "of" works so much better.
  6. The hype is growing! Let's hope they stick a shpongle mask in there somewhere. http://www.twistedmu...m_shpongleland/
  7. The funniest thing is that - in these videoes - duvdev tries SO HARD to screw things up like he does masterfully in IM nowadays... but the oldschool set just speaks for itself, and he's left on stage dancing like he's going through an insulin shock. I wish that was true.
  8. Listen to the start of Solstice.. That's simplicity, yet genious!
  9. If Youth had ventured further than what he does on this album it would be completely tangled up. That prominent, repetitive and predictable baseline is what keeps the threads together, and it works extremely well with the drummer who is outstanding. I see your argument, but I find what you find lacking - necessary.
  10. Hallucinogen In Dub LIVE :posford: :posford: :posford:
  11. Oh yeah. Downloaded it from www.twisteddownloads.com This is fucking epic.
  12. I'm pretty sure attending huge gigs and festivals (in europe) requires much more money and energy if you're American than if you're situated downtown europe. Hey Androcell, how much time a week do you have available for making music? Or do you just make time for them sweet sounds?
  13. What are the great names out there? And why is only Israel, Sweden, Great Britain and France really the only ones that do it right?
  14. I love it. I love the Aes Dana releases (although I didn't use to), Solar Fields is perfection, CBL is really gloomy and great, HUVA network is interesting, whereas Distances probably is top 3 ultmae releases, Hol Baumann is pretty good. I tend to enjoy the compilations a lot. I Awake Sync 24 James Murray are okayish. nothing too spectacular. I haven't gotten around to buying the new Substans album from Circular. They're fellow Norwegians, so I guess I have to. Any good? Other than that, CBL are growing into something even better and better.. Very much the same from Solar Fields, just look at Movements. I hope we get CBL 3 in 2009!
  15. I just can't understand the track-by-track "descriptions" that are featured in most reviews here. "It made me feel like I was in a forest in a warm summer breeze as the base kicks in, with beautiful synths" I'd like to see people's imagination stretched to deeper levels than this, so unfortunately I don't read many reviews. Usually the most interesting things I get out of them are 1) if the artist have changed direction or not, 2) genre change, 3) comparison / contrastion to previous works. I'll do my own daydreaming track by track, thank you.
  16. I like psytones. He's probably not far away as he's a fellow Norwegian. I might pass him on the street and think nothing of it. But deep down, he knows we're dawgs for life. It's shizzle.
  17. murpheythecat: i agree with what you're saying. Melancholyman: did you by chance catch the interview where Duvdev 1) acknowledges the fact that they're *letting down* their old fanbase by making new bubblegum music, and 2) talking crap about them by suggesting that they masturbate so much that the skin on their hands literally will tear off? You tell me you're not going to feel pretty shitty when Solar Fields features Busta Rhymes and Nelly Furtado on MTV. Yes, he will let you down. It doesn't have anything to do with obligation. It has something to do with talent, and using it. Clearly our hebrew boys have thrown that notion away a long time ago. Huh? I though you loved the new stuff IM has put out. I can picture you chewing on a glowstick and throwing kisses at duvdev while the reflection of his bald head shines brightly in your heart.
  18. no, no. infected are still good for a laugh.
  19. http://www.youtube.com/user/carbonbasedlifeforms here's a few this is enough to deliver many amounts of shiver down this spine
  20. Yeah both of those are horrid. But, on the bright side, the first video made me laugh loud and well. You can see SKAZI is there right? The fucking cosmos realigns. AHAHAHAHAHAHAH
  21. If you are unable to hear the fantastic technical and creative abilities of Si.P in "Periscopes of Consciousness" combined with "Schmaltz Herring", you sir, are a lesser person.
  22. Unfortunately I found this EP to be way below CBL standards. It doesn't sound like anything they've done before. I'm not saying that makes it impossible for them to make interesting music, but outside their comfort-zone (as I think this EP is), they're not being able to channel their creativity. The samples from the new album sounds absolutely mindbowing, so thankfully we can forget about this hickup and look forward to the proper CBL sound.
  23. I agree. I can't tell where this album is going, and besides that, there's nothing else than the "plink, ploink" sounds bluetech's always had. It was never appealing to me, so unless he starts a completely new project, I can't get into it.
