  1. anything by Baphomet Engine
  2. your song is not my favourite style, so I will be fair and won't comment what I will say is that your production skillz still astound me I am listening to it on a little mono speaker on a G5 ( ultimate test! ) and it sounds great. gonna have to drive down to Cologne so you can show me some Skillz and tips!
  3. D.P in case you were still wondering anyway.... both are/were from Cape Town ZA
  4. Maden.... Fluffy = Protoculture. happy, pretty dainty melodies that make you want to hug people
  5. If you make original music it narrows down the compettition tremendously. Nirvana had virtually no compettitors when they hit the scene because they were truly fresh. An original idea will always prevail.
  6. yeah, but DnB & Jungle runs at a half of it's speed aswell. So it's like 90 over 180bpm if you get my drift. Beats run at 180, melodies and groove run at half that speed. So 4 on da floor 169 is definately savage shit indeed!

    Yage

9 tracks If I remember correctly 3 ambient, 6 dancefloor. Girl vocal is only on 1 or 2. No tracklist tho. Yeah the downbeat is sweet But I don't think they have "released" a promo. They just gave a cd to a mate of mine who's come back from Brazil. So you say they're pretty big over there?
  8. What speed fit's yours style perfectly? what is the speed you like to dance to? If you play live/dj do you speed up or slow down - or keep it running at the same tempo the whole set? For me it's: 142 bpm Somehow, when I hit 142 all the girls flood the dancefloor, as if by magic. People have told me it's the "golden tempo", the sacred speed at which everyone can get involved. I guess it's a kind of a happy medium. What's your favourite BPM?

    Yage

They sure did But Sepultura sux now, and so do Soulfly IMO! Yeah, Yage have got some of the same percussion elements and that stringy guitar thingy, some female vocals etc. But no Max! Maybe we should make a psy remix of Chaos A.D/B.C. ??? Max is in my town with Soulfly, maybe I can ask him before Skazi does!

    Yage

A few weeks ago I got handed a promo of this Brazillian act called: Yage. I got it from a label that's interested in them, and were interested in my opinion of em. I say...pretty damn cool. Quite a mix of stuff from ambient/downbeat right through to full-on'ish rippazzz! They also throw in a bit of the native South American Tribal sound for effect. Reminds me of the Sepultura "Roots" album. Any Brazzzzillians out there heard of em? What do ya think?
  12. Manmademan.... Why are they so good? I think it's because they are married! Or so they used to be??? For me it's the perfect balance between male and female energies. And they were around pretty much from the beginning.
  13. z3ta is amazing for bass, or so I recently discovered
  14. chatnik! Personally, I have no problem with pirated software being used by start-up musicians because it is so expensive. And when you make money from your music you will be able to afford to buy the software . However, this forum is very strongly against trading MP3s my friend Just letting you know! But, welcome and hope you find what you are looking for. good luck with your productions! p.s- is that a gun you're holding?

    rage against

A Cape Town band called "DMMT" have a Bullet in the head rmx. I doubt it will be released tough. Gonna have to see em live
  16. Thanks! Definately my on-line "find of the week"! "Mylo kills Mylo" .... "Subsonik kills Subsonik"..... hey, everyone will think it's suicide Yeah, I've tried the lot and VB1 has the best sound, but soooo few parameters Dope money for hardware What a great idea, I think we'd all have top notch studios in a matter of weeks
  17. Bigwigs ( they all played in Sombrero's ! ) thes rest well... they just bopped around, nodded to the crowd and punched the air like everyone else. on the other side: Placebo - power Skunk Anansie - MTV live act of 2001 for good reason! U2 ( Popmart ) - Wow...look at the screen! Massive Attack - No couloured lights, no fireworks - just pure style and sheer presence Faithless - Unbelievable live act. Completely LIVE! Real drummer - nothing sequenced/playback. Not huge on their albums, but seen them 3 times just for the show. Cracker! Worst: Counting crows ( it's my own fault ) Prodigy Jamiroquai ( too much of the same thing, nice hat though )
  18. I second that. You can't reproduce nature, it'll just sound weird. Go with the sampler route. Go natural! There are plenty of animal sfx cd's around. You could probably download wav's and there's nothing stopping you ripping sounds off BBC wildlife specials etc. good luck!
  19. Prodigy sucks! I saw them live and it was awful. Chem Bros are inconsistent. Crystal Method OWN3Z! they are the only electronic act of the 3 with true ACID sounds! Check out "Vegas" They win it for me. P.S. OH MY GOSH WE FORGOT DEPECHE MODE! When Frankie Knuckles was asked:"How does it feel to be the originator of House Music?" he said:"Don't ask me, ask Depeche Mode!"
  20. maybe pop it in Recycle and make a rex file
  21. XP ... but play with the setup. check out: www.musicxp.net
  22. for me.... please add FLUKE THE CRYSTAL METHOD SQUAREPUSHER .....lest we forget the goodness
  23. Dude, it works for you because you are a member! We are not members! So we get this: Dig to hear your tune. But filling out forms is not diggable at all. So host it on another site! The supense is killing us!
